Ironically, quite possibly the ugliest building on campus, Governors Complex, was designed by I.M. Pei.

Scotland soccer fans, boo during moment of silence

Well, since you asked, the issue was first addressed in the First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." In 1947 the Supreme Court added the stipulation in Reynolds v. United States that: "The 'establishment of religion' clause of the First Amendment means at least this: Neither a state nor the Federal Government can set up a church. Neither can pass laws which aid one religion, aid all religions, or prefer one religion over another. Neither can force nor influence a person to go to or to remain away from church against his will or force him to profess a belief or disbelief in any religion. No person can be punished for entertaining or professing religious beliefs or disbeliefs, for church attendance or non-attendance. No tax in any amount, large or small, can be levied to support any religious activities or institutions, whatever they may be called, or whatever from they may adopt to teach or practice religion" The Supreme Court clarified that statement again in 1971 when it ruled that a law can only be constitutional if it is: 1) Secular in nature 2) Be neutral towards religion 3) Not result in entanglements between government and religion. These statements lay a solid groundwork for Separation of Church and State. The First Amendment is about as constitutional as it gets and the Supreme Court's sole purpose, contrary to the arguments of meddling congresses and grandstanding judges, is to interpret the constitution. If quoting historical figures is the only thing you listen to, it was Thomas Jefferson who first coined the term "a wall of separation between Church and State" -
YES has been on in Rochester since it's inception. Great coverage if you're a Yankee fan, which I am (Go TINO!), not as great if you're rooting for, say, the Red Sox.

Game is done. UB 68 - Marshall 55. UB 18 - 7 (10 - 6) ties a school record for wins.
-
Yeah, he has been to more than a few UB games the last few years. He's very easy to spot, with the white hair and all, and always sits in the same box seats. He was cheering for UB pretty good, too.
-
Forgot to add mention that Tom Donahoe had courtside seats to tonight's game. Turner Battle nailed him pretty good with the ball when he batted a Kent State pass out of bounds. It also spilled Donahoes water all over him. It was funny.

It was an amazing game. UB played STELLAR second half. The guys were pumped up. Crowd was decently sized but could've been a little bigger. This team is amazing in the clutch and great at pulling away from teams at the end.
-
Sure they would. They might even be hosting a game....

Typical uninformed comments. Lock for the division title? You fail to mention the fact that three days after losing to Miami (in overtime, at Miami) they went into Western Michigan and gave them a beat down and became the first team to beat W.M. at home in two years. Buffalo has gone toe-to-toe with every team in the conference, beating favorites Miami (OH), Western Michigan, and Toledo. They also beat Niagara in one of the best game all year.

Interesting that most free agent Bills

You're thinking of John Parallela (sp?). 3 or 4 with us, 1 in SD, and 1 in Oakland. -
(OT-sort of) truly entertaining slice of nfl life

Just another reason why these guys are crazy for not wearing cups. Good lord. -
Wegmans named best workplace in U.S.
Wraith replied to Mike32282's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've worked at Wegmans in Webster for six years and it is a great company and a great place to work. I have been a Customer Service Rep. Part-Time and I can easily say it will be a very sad day when I graduate from UB this May and finally leave Wegmans for good. -
Did anyone see the look on drews face yesterday
Wraith replied to bb63's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No it wasn't. For starters, Drew would never have turned around had it been the backwards pass....he would've faked a QB sneak. Secondly, that was no pass. He kind of pushed it towards Williams after he went to hand off and hit only air. It is very evident from both Williams and Bledsoe that it was a broken play. The look on Bledsoe's face, and the way Williams bashed himself in the head after the play, both indicate that somebody screwed up (Again, most likely Williams judging by his reaction when the play was over with). -
Single Most Embarrassing Upset of the Year
Wraith replied to IDBillzFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That may have been the single stupidest decision I have ever seen. Talk about dumb. The ONE thing he couldn't do, he did. Dumb dumb dumb. We should be thankful Bledsoe doesn't try things like that. -
Why the hell would you want NE to win?!

Way too much overconfidence on this board.

Best receivers we've faced all year? Please, the Rams lined up Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce against us with a much better QB throwing them the ball and we all saw how that worked out. -
OK, Im watching "LOST" - 1st Episode

I don't know if it's discrepancy or not but Charlie definitely was as far forward in the plane as you can go. He comes out of the bathroom right behind the cockpit during the scene where he, Jack, and Kate find the pilot... -
That was pathetic offense right there, and awesome defense.
-
I know this is sarcasm but I would just like to raise the point that we just held a team that scored 50 some points against the supposedly "good" team we play next week to 17 yards.
-
That's cool. I'm from Webster myself so I love the area.

Yep, born in Fairport, a suburb of Rochester if you're not familiar with it.

Buffalo wins over Niagara in two overtimes
Wraith replied to millbank's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dude, both Niagara and UB are talented, NCAA Tournament caliber teams (not tournament winning caliber, tournament getting to caliber, lol). Last season Buffalo beat the snot out of Kent State a year removed from there Great Eight run. This year, Buffalo is definitely a top contender for the MAC crown, a pretty decent conference. -
He's also got the Western New York connection. He's from Rochester.

Totally agree. They don't give in. In the home opener UB came back from 7 points down with 43 seconds to go to win by 5 in OT. Tied the game at the buzzer with an alley oop dunk from Battle to Bortz on the inbounds. -

I just got back from it, I live on campus, it was the wildest game I've ever seen. Stressful. Mark Bortz played huuuge, made Juan Mendez his b***h.
