WGR-550 Dust-up Today: Schopp vs. Capaccio!
Seven-N-Nine replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm too lazy to look at the winning SB coaches and see how many played in the NFL. I'm going to guess most of them are not former NFL players. Now high school and college, yeah, I mean passion usually starts with experiencing something. -
XFL Fires back against Antonio Brown
Seven-N-Nine replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder when they start pushing woke politics, seems to happen to every entertainment outlet at some point in time. I do like they are dumping on Brown though, he deserves it. -
Tragic (or maybe even inevitable?) moreso than cool.

Five games, only one good team, which they lost to. -

Intelligent people are more apt to learn and excel at anything, that's the main point. Rock head ex-football players who get jobs like coaching or color analyst usually flame out or are seriously bad at their jobs, there are so many examples of both. Now, I imagine playing at some point in your life would have helped develop the passion and could lead one in that direction, however I don't think it is a mandatory prerequisite to success (like it seems many fans mistakenly believe, "if you've never played organized sports you have no clue" caveman mentality). -
What Bears fans are feeling this season about their QB could very well be what Bills fans are feeling next season. 17 more games for Allen basically.

A.J. Green to Bengals: 'Long-term deal or let me go'

He's old and hobbled, don't want the Bills giving him anything. -

McDermott is unwilling answer tough questions, it's that simple. I get the impression that for McDermott, questioning the way he runs a football team is akin to questioning his faith in his religion, it's blasphemous. -
I'm kinda all for reporters getting ***** on by players, reporters are just #######s looking for clicks and will get them any way they can.

I don't think this team is any different really, they lack offensive explosiveness, they can't stop the run, still can't get pressure on QB's, it's like watching the same team over and over again for decades. McDermott is just as arrogant as previous coaches, maybe moreso, and as usual will be the downfall. The "I know best" mentality is strong with this coach, unfortunately he gets blown out a lot and has only beaten 2 good teams his entire coaching career. 7-9 worst case, 9-7 best case. -

That's the thing, just because someone played sports, it does not give them some kind of leg up on those who did not. Belichick wins with strategy and intelligence during games as well as during the off season, has nothing to do with some knucklehead notion that you have had to have played sports to be any good at running a sports team, a very prevalent yet ignorant take. -
Yeah that's it, bury your head in the sand, typical...

The current regime makes just as many irresponsible moves (Benjamin anyone?). They trade up in every draft usually passing on much better talent in the process. This team is no better off, they are not really any better than Fitz, Orton or Tyrod teams, they STILL can only beat the worst teams in the NFL, and barely. McDermott sucks IMO, and his comment shows how much he sucks.

20 Years of QBs and 300 yard Games

Somehow, some coach or coaches got into his head and ruined his deep ball IMO. -
Andy Dalton benched in Cincy

Zay Jones was never a quality WR no matter how you want to spin it. His level of production/talent can be had from much later rounds, to make matters worse they traded up to select him. -

Jones only had a few decent games last season, the rest of the game reflected his poor catch %. He sucked, fans knew it, and I'm sure the coaches did too. Giving up on a player in year two that they drafted is a bad look for them, that's why they hung on, probably why they will do the same with Allen, only it won't be 3 years more like 5. Self preservation of jobs in the FO is not in the best interest of the team, yet we see it constantly, it's annoying. Some players drafted, yes, you can know quite early on they are just not going to make it in the NFL, Jones was one of those players.
