  1. I have found that I can actually afford to buy an additional season ticket, simply by reducing my RWS beer purchases by 5-6 beers per game GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  2. From my extensive experience with North Star Bills excursions, you will be tired of alcohol by the time the bus arrives on Candlestick Point - and probably even before it leaves the North Star!!! There will be plenty of Bills revelry going on at Powell & Green before the bus leaves, and continuing until kickoff
  3. Again, I have every confidence in Coach Gailey to take the Bills all the way this season - but if we must bring in The Pirate, it would have to wait until next season anyway. Rumor has it that Leach - after the successful completion of his first Spring football season at Wazoo - has just killed the Cal Bear and is now headed to Colorado for a Buffalo hunt as part an extended hunt to kill all the opposing PAC-12 mascots.... Link - Mike Leach Shoots the Cal Bear (Beavers and Ducks are next!) .
  4. I have the utmost confidence in Chan Gailey for the upcoming season. However, if the Bills offense struggles at all with this o-line and current corps of extremely talented WRs, RBs, TEs, then serious thought must be given to bringing in an offensive genius and bona fide QB magician to help Chan on that side of the ball - maybe someone the caliber of... Mike Leach
  5. I appreciate your opinions on the subject - however they must they be completely discounted since you are a founding member of the 'I LOVE DREW BREES FAN CLUB' and you have an even bigger man-crush on the little piece of crap than Bill Belicheat*
  6. You are aware that there's a 4-year gap between Marchibroda's departure as OC and Philips arrival as DC? JMO, but Kelly was pretty much the OC by the end of Marchibroda's tenure here (1991). Given the quick-scoring nature of the Bills' offense back then( that pretty much put the Bills D right back on the field as soon as they got off), I'd say that Corey's D (which ranked as high as 5th in the league during the Superbowl run), was a fine unit. Again, JMO. GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! .
  7. I would like to think that eventually this will be proven true - hopefully this season! (So far, however, all empirical evidence points to Jim Kelly and Walt Corey.) GO BILLSSS!!!! "I expect to be undefeated...I expect to win every game." - Chan Gailey 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  8. The answer is OF COURSE NOT!!!! No freakin' way Buddy Nix would ever even consider doing something so stupid as trading for Brees. The cost would be ridiculously high for a 1-to-2 year player who would have to learn and adjust to Chan Gailey's system and the Bills receivers corps, while the entire Bills offense adjusts to him - which would probably set the Bills back a season in the current rebuilding timeline, not to mention what the Bills would give up in current talent and future draft picks in such a ridiculously myopic trade. Also lost in all this stupidity is that Brees may net even do well here in the swirling outdoor winds of Orchard Park, NY. (The Bills DO have three December home games along with the nighttime mid-November game at RWS - I guess most folks don't know that New Orleans* plays in a dome?) But the whole thread is just another ridiculous TSW off-season time-waster anyway, because there is no trade to be made. The Saints* have slapped the franchise tag on him and, in the end, the greedy little piece of crap will sign his one-year, $16.3 million franchise-player tender offer. GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! .
  9. And $4M/year for the next four years after this one. (Basically $4M/year in 'dead cap' money, since he won't be playing beyond 2013 anyway.)
  10. Memorandum - 18May2012 To: Tom Benson Fm: Bill Belicheat* Re: Drew Brees Tom: I hear you got an aging disgruntled QB on your hands who's demanding an unGODly sum of money, is acting like a real dickhead about it, and only has maybe one more decent year in him - two at best. Lucky for you, I have experience dealing both with aging QBs named Drew AND the Buffalo Bills front office. Best advice I can give, vis-a-vis the Drew Brees sitch, is to give him his long-term deal for whatever it is he's asking. (What is he got up to now...$23M/year??? ) Anyway, just make the deal - the money or contract length shouldn't hurt you a bit. After you sign him, just unload him and his ridiculous contract on the Bills. They've always been suckers for deals like these, and are sure to take his contract off your hands and give you a couple of 1st round picks for the privilege. Best regards, Bill*
  11. Well, if you put it that way... How many morons insisted that we'd be better off losing every game just to have that opportunity to draft Andy Luck and hope he doesn't suck as an NFL QB? And how many morons insisted that they'd be willing to trade every Bills 2012 draft pick (which turned out to be Stephon Gilmore, Cordy Glenn ,T.J. Graham, Nigel Bradham, Zebrie Sanders, Tank Carder, Mark Asper, and John Potter) for the chance to draft RGIII - again, with nothing to go on except their own hope that he won't suck in a Bills uniform? The Saints are going to suck this season - with or without that little piece of crap Drew Brees.
  12. Jeff Hostetler won a Superbowl. Mark Rypien won a Superbowl. Lots of QBs won one Superbowl. And Drew Brees won one too...three years ago!!! (Goin' on four years ago) Now, as age sets in and causes the inevitable decline in ability, the a-hole wants to cash in on prior achievements and be the leagues highest paid QB - in what will likely be his final NFL contract and last shot at a piece of the ever-growing NFL revenue pie - and he's throwing a hissy fit because the Saints aren't fawning all over him, telling him how delicious his sh_t tastes... "Well, I think there's certainly what I think would be an appropriate number for my situation. It's not anything I think is unreasonable or anything like that, " said Brees, who pointed out that he played out his entire six-year deal with the Saints at $10 million per year from 2006 through 2011. Although Brees conceded that he signed that deal and was grateful the Saints offered it at a time when there were major concerns about the health of his shoulder, he did suggest that the Saints were getting him at a bargain rate. Anyone (besides me and Joe D) see the irony here? This piece of crap now wants his own last big piece of the pie, yet at the same time gives no consideration at all to the simplest basic health care concerns of all the struggling, ailing, pre-collective bargaining agreement old-time players on whose broken backs the $10 billion-per-year enterprise called the modern NFL was built - the very guys that made today's lucrative deals possible. The Saints would be crazy to go any higher than the $16.3 million one-year offer they've already tendered to this jerk.
  13. But really...wouldn't we be happier if there were more a-holes like Mark Gastineau in the NFL - and wouldn't we be just thrilled if they were all on the Bills' roster?
  14. JMO, but it'd be an absolutely stupid personnel move for the Saints to give a $20M-per-year contract to a height-challenged 33 year-old QB, who will be 34 or 35 before his scandal-tainted team is once again in a position to contend for anything (Not to mention that he also happens to be a little piece of crap.)
  15. Yet another example of the fine off-season efforts of this amazingly competent and efficient Bills front office! GO BILLSSS!!!! "I expect to be undefeated...I expect to win every game." - Chan Gailey 19 and 0 baby!!!!! .
  16. I believe I read somewhere that Drew Brees and Mr. Hankey are related...
  17. FatBoy will threaten to hold out unless they offer a better deal.
  18. Don Banks = Genius GO BILLSSS!!!! "I expect to be undefeated...I expect to win every game." - Chan Gailey 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  19. Except that Flutie signed a multi-year, incentive-laden, veteran minimum contract - and was promised he'd have the opportunity to compete for the starting QB job. Less than a month later, the Bills reneged on that promise, trading their 1st round [9th-overall] pick in the upcoming draft (along with a 4th round pick) for Rob Johnson, whom Wade Phillips promptly named the Bills starting QB, before camp started and before either QB ever took a snap in a Bills uniform. So the two situations really could not be more dissimilar. Just sayin'. GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! .
  20. Now that would be unusual - to see a newly signed player come to the podium in uniform, full pads - helmet & all - to address the media in mid-May (He does look good in the Bills t-shirt & New Era training camp hat, though )
  21. A new Bills player - a fairly high-profile player, btw - arrives in town, and says a few words to the media. BFD. I've never seen so many girls get their panties in a bunch over such a non-event.
  22. I would have loved to see a different ending to the Tanney story but, as usual, the Bills handled it the right way and with their usual class. Tanney had other offers, and now maybe one of those will pan out for him. Meanwhile, back at One Bills Drive, the QB position is already somewhat crowded going into camp - with Fitz, Young, Thigpen, Smith, and even Josh Nesbitt able to take turns heaving the ball... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  23. I don't like giving up a home game to Rogers Centre any more than the next diehard Bills fan, but think most reasonable fans have grown resolved to to the reality that the revenue from this Toronto agreement, along with the growing Southern Ontario fan base, are vital to keeping the Buffalo Bills economically viable in the NFL's 2nd smallest market and the nation's 3rd poorest city. At least the talk of expanding the series to more that one regular season game seems to have quieted... “Our regionalization efforts are vital to keeping our franchise strong,” said Bills CEO Russ Brandon. “We are continuing to work with Rogers Communications to extend our agreement to play Bills games at Rogers Centre. Our fan base continues to grow significantly in southern Ontario, which is a benefit for games played at Ralph Wilson Stadium, as well. Maintaining a presence in Toronto will help our organization continue to strengthen its foothold in the region.” Under the current agreement, the Bills will have played one regular-season game annually in Toronto and two preseason games over five years. The new deal would largely mimic that arrangement. The Bills are scheduled to play Seattle on Dec. 16 in Toronto for this season’s game. A source said that no more than one game annually is necessary to provide the economic boost needed to keep the Bills viable in Buffalo. While attendance has been lower in Toronto than for games in Buffalo, Rogers pays the team a set fee for the games. Link - NFL expected to re-up Bills-in-Toronto series GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
