You guys are right. Note to Bills scouting staff: Please hold off on evaluating players for the 2013 NFL entry draft - we do not care about the available talent pool right now, and have no plans to care for at least several months.
-
Looks like he red-shirted in 2009, so 2012 would actually be his 4th year, academically, even though he would still have another season of eligibility (similar to the Andy Luck situation this last draft). At that point - assuming he has a decent season and avoids injury - you'd have to think he'd declare for the 2013 draft, having already earned his degree. Would love to see Barkevious Levon Mingo in a Bills uniform in 2013!
-
Oops...my bad...it's actually... BARKEVIOUS LEVON MINGO That is a beautiful name. .
-
Barkevious Mingo...now how did his folks come up with that one? Guess I'm gonna have to dig around a little on the world wide web...
-
Is that a great freakin' name or what??? Barkevious Mingo...I wanna see it on the back of a Bills jersey!!! Has all the right credentials - 6'5" 240 lb. top-ranked OLB - from the SEC (LSU) so you know Nix will love him. Tigers have him playing DE - he runs the 40 in 4.5 ( Maybe try him at safety? ) Certainly big enough & fast enough to keep Gronkowski in check. Seems like a great person too - keep in mind this video is 4 years old (from 2008)... Great attitude and great maturity for a H.S. kid, I think. Never too early to start thinking about April 2013 (the Bills scouts are), so start saying it.... BARKEVIOUS MINGO!!!! The big question...will he be there for Buffalo at the #32-slot??? GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!

Well right now my gut-feel is to love Washington State WR Marquess Wilson. He's already an outstanding WR - and this season will likely develop into the next Wes Welker or Michael Crabtree, now that he's being coached by... Mike Leach However, the one name that absolutely just jumps off the page at me and makes me say, "The Bills just gotta draft this guy!", is... BARKEVIOUS MINGO

Hypothetical Coaching Job Interview Question

Who did SI rate as having the best 2012 offseason??
The Senator replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our Bills are the only team of all 32 to rate an A-grade??? Well, how 'bout that??? After the best off-season in the entire NFL, there's only one thing left to accomplish... 19 and 0 baby!!!!! . -
You are probably right - if you truly wished him ill - but you still wouldn't be as awful a human being as Rex Ryan. Yes I have a full head of hair - Vito The Barber can attest to that, as he'll be sweeping up huge piles of it from his floor this afternoon. As for shortening my life, well my BP is down to 124-over-78, cholesterol down to 128, and my cardiologist seems to have an opinion quite different from yours. ( But then, what do they know? )
-
Well if you're like most folks, I'm guessing there's a bit more useless flab on your 228 lb frame than you know - or admit. And if you claim 228, again, like most folks who claim to be a certain weight, I'll guess you're somewhere slightly north of 235. In fact, you're probably pretty close to resembling Rex Ryan's new look. I'm a bit over 160 these days, but mine is more of a Ryan Miller (6'2", 175 lbs.) physique - though, admittedly, I'm not quite as tall and lanky as the Sabres' goaltender. And I'm not trying to diminish what Ryan accomplished (well, maybe a little 'cause I can't stand the arrogant prick), but some people don't need to have their jaws wired shut and stomachs stapled in half to lose weight - they just need to get a bit more active, and stop filling their mouths with food incessantly. Apparently Rex Ryan couldn't do that - his preference was to sit on his ass, eat lots of unhealthy food, probably drink a lot of beer, and suck feet. That's why I'm guessing he'll put all the weight back on - in record time, too. And, even at 242, he's still a big fat blowhard! GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! .
-
A common misconception, Promo - and nothing more than a vile canard of the perpetually willpower-challenged. In fact, back in 1998, I did stop eating - and lost nearly 70 pounds. (Went from 230 down to 160.) Rex Ryan is still a big fat turd.
-
^^^^ What Doc said. 106 pounds??? BFD. He' s still a big, fat, stupid, loud-mouthed, pig-faced, ignorant, porcine piece o' crap. GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!

Can Fitzpatrick be an upper echelon QB?
The Senator replied to Billsrhody's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's so refreshing to see a new topic on TSW, rather than beating all the usual dead horses Fitz will be the NFL's top-ranked QB this season... GO BILLSSS!!!! "I expect to be undefeated...I expect to win every game." - Chan Gailey 19 and 0 baby!!!! . -
I think Ponch is a bit too old & flabby to be ridin' his hog on the bad streets of OakTown at 3 a.m. BTW, I wonder how blowing over .08 equals "suspicion of DUI" ???? ( I'm pretty sure that .08 = DWI in ' The Golden State' ) Well, I never bitched about drafting Spiller, but I was one of Lynch's biggest supporters here on TSW and was upset to see him traded. Guess the Bills saw deeper problems with BeastMode and, in hindsight, clearly they were right to move him while they could. And, at the time, I thought they have gotten more than 4th & 5th round draft choices for a former #12-overall pick. But, again, Buddy seems to have made the most of those 4th & 5th round picks - which is why I am all through with questioning Nix's judgement... GO BILLSSS!!!! Looks like blackout rule won't apply here
The Senator replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Excellent idea, PTR - some sort of addressable set-top box for season ticket holders that would allow them to sit in the comfort of their homes and enjoy any blacked-out game on TV, since they already paid for a ticket anyway! -

So I guess we place roughly the same value on each other's opinion. Works fine for me. Enjoy watching whatever game-of-the-week FOX or CBS decide to give you for free on your fine, new, taxpayer-subsidized television set. I'll be enjoying every Bills game from my seat at RWS. (They even give me a little hand-held TV for replays!) GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! -

Surpassed only by the ignorance of those who think that having every home game on free local TV would not result in a half-empty stadium. (Then again, I suppose the Bills could just cover the entire upper deck with the world's largest tarpaulin and call every game a sell-out.) I probably could, but have a feeling it would take way too long and wouldn't be worth the effort GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! -

Well, Doug, I couldn't agree with you more; Since you pay taxes just like I do, you have every right to watch the game just like I do - all you have to do is BUY A TICKET...JUST LIKE I DO!!!! I'm sorry games get blacked out, but occasionally they do. That's life. In the last decade, during the Bills long drought, there were a couple of seasons when I did not renew my seats. And when other fans began voting with their feet as well, more games were subject to the blackout. I never whined about it, or proclaimed some 'right' to see the game for free on local TV in the days when I didn't (or couldn't) buy tickets. I started to miss seeing the games, so I bit the bullet and re-joined the fold. Do you think I would have ponied up for club seats if it was guaranteed that I could watch every game for free on local TV? Or maybe you think the ticket buyers pay all that money and make the effort to trek out to RWS on Sundays just so YOU can sit at home and watch for free? Last I looked, tax subsidies also fund the Buffalo Philharmonic, Albright Knox, Burchfield Penny Gallery, the Buffalo Zoo, Museum of Science, Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society, etc., etc. - yet only the most virulent communist (or complete idiot) would argue that they have a right to free access to those culturals simply because our local governments deem them worthy of funding, maintaining, and keeping here for the greater good of the entire area. And, btw, the county and state do not fund the Buffalo Bills - they fund (and own) the building where the Bills play, which the Bills then lease from the county. Local IDA dollars also fund virtually every strip plaza, fast food restaurant, big-box retail store, and corner drug store chain - so I guess, since your tax dollars funded those buildings, you feel you have a right to help yourself to some free products from the businesses that occupy them, operate them, and employ the local people who work there? Good luck explaining that logic to the local judge. Congrats on your new TV set. I'm sure it's very nice. Now, in the event that a Bills game is blacked out this season (which I doubt will happen), you are correct in claiming the right to watch the NY Giants or whatever other game-of-the-week is aired for free with all the others who have not paid anything to do so. (Though I should probably check and see if any of my tax dollars went to subsidize the company, facility, or jobs of the workers that manufactured your new TV - it may partially belong to me!) BTW, welcome back Doug - hope you and Wendy enjoyed your vacation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiquICTxSlc -

Facts are useful things, son - and you should try to obtain some next time you attempt to construct an argument here on TSW. First of all, the Bills make NOTHING off of television ad revenue. Zero. Zilch. Nada. (That revenue goes to the networks and the local affiliates that sell the airtime to the advertisers.) Second, of the $250M in improvements the Bills are requesting, the bulk of the funding is expected to come not from Erie County taxpayers but from the State of New York - which stands to earn far in excess of that $250M in the income taxes it collect on the Bills player and personnel salaries and various sales taxes on, among other things, concessions sales to ticket holders who attend the games! (And since NYS has contributed far more than that amount to professional sports franchises downstate, and also will be - from a tax revenue perspective - the major benefactor of having the Bills here, it is expected that NYS will willingly and eagerly pony up.) So the bulk of the tax revenue that will fund the stadium improvements will ultimately come from the Bills organization and the ticket holders who attend the game - making them even bigger financial stakeholders than the whiners who complain that they have a right to get for free what the stakeholders pay a substantial amount of good, hard-earned money to see. Nice try though, and thanks for playing...do come back and play again when you've got something. . -

OK, now I'm just a Polish kid from Buffalo so you're gonna have to help me out with that one... So it's stupid to think that the $1650 per seat invoice I receive from One Bills Drive doesn't represent a larger financial stake than the ersatz fan who is only willing to pay, oh, let's just pick an arbitrary number here...ZERO??? The TV contract revenue and how is it shared is a fixed amount and remains constant until the next network contract is negotiated, regardless of this new blackout policy - so how the heck does would the Bills agreeing to forgoe an additional percentage of their seat revenue change anything? .
