  1. You are correct, sir - women are quite fickle about these types of decisions. I believe Marcia* will announce her* retirement on October 1st.... GO BILLSSS!!!! "I expect to be undefeated...I expect to win every game." - Chan Gailey 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  2. Pristine water is overrated - just ask any Bostonian.
  3. Obviously, their crystal ball is also a counterfeit.
  4. Well for an older guy like me it'd be the Rolling Stones, whom I've seen live about a dozen times, with healthy doses of Steely Dan and Van Morrison thrown in. But you will appreciate this - in 1979 (back when the earth was still cooling) I saw WZ at Bailey Hall, as the early phase of his career was just starting to peak. (His Excitable Boy album was still all over the airwaves, and he had just released Bad Luck Streak in Dancing School.) I came into the ticket for free, from a housemate who opted instead to attend a guest lecture in government elsewhere on campus by - of all people - Jack Kemp. (Kemp ended up canceling at the last minute - meanwhile, I saw a great show.) Have been a huge Zevon fan ever since. Saw him playing a solo act at the Paradise in Boston several years later, when his career had hit the skids and he was trying to come back after losing his band - and nearly his life - from overindulgence in various vices. Seeing him alone on stage, with no backup band - just an acoustic guitar or at the piano - was an amazing experience, as it allowed his remarkable musicianship and true genius to shine. (These days, I find myself revisiting his later music and marveling at how he poignantly he faced death - even as he knew how soon it was coming.) .
  5. I lived in the Russian Hill neighborhood, on the crooked part of Lombard (btwn Hyde & Leavenworth) - and yes, I believe San Franciscans will pass the measure. (On a side note, when I moved there and was about to vote in my first EssEff election, a few weeks before election day I received a ballot information booklet the size of a small telephone directory listing dozens of referendums, propositions, ballot initiatives, plebiscites, etc., and explaining each one in detail - I always found it amazing that the voters actually get to decide so many of the issues for themselves, rather than leaving it in the hands of corrupt and/or inept politicians.)
  6. Somewhere, John Muir is smiling... Having lived in EssEff for 7 years or so during one of their long droughts, it always flummoxed me that I was on a 50-gallon/day per person water allocation, had to save and re-use 'gray water', place a brick in my toilet tank, refrain from flushing after 'number one', put out a plastic trash can to collect rain water, and risked getting fined if I washed my car - all while Hetch Hetchy water was being shipped down to LA where, with ignorance and smug impunity, they used it to fill their swimming pools, water their lush lawns, and wash their Bentleys daily. If I still lived there, I would wholeheartedly support the measure to restore the valley.
  7. This WR thing is extremely troubling. There is absolutely no excuse for dropping passes on a 100-degree day, especially in light of the fact that we are now already in the 10th day of training camp. That the offensive schemes are not fully installed at this late stage, and that the entire WR corp is still not in perfect lock-step with Fitz regarding patterns and timing this far along into our preparation for the upcoming season, is a clear reflection on the inability of Gailey and his staff - along with an obvious complete lack of football talent on the Bills roster. Chan must go. Nix too. In fact, it's time to scrap the entire organization and current roster, and start rebuilding. But it won't happen, because Ralph is cheap... GO BILLSSS!!!! "I expect to be undefeated...I expect to win every game." - Chan Gailey 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  8. Embrace and enjoy RW's "one more go at it" - the man no doubt realizes he's not just on the "back nine of life", but walking toward the club house. Whatever Ralph's reasoning or current mind-set, we should all be grateful that his latest spending spree has not merely transformed the Bills into contenders once again, but created an NFL dynasty that will dominate the league for years to come... GO BILLSSS!!!! "I expect to be undefeated...I expect to win every game." - Chan Gailey 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  9. Wow...when they passed out the ears, Sully thought they said "beers" and asked for two big ones!!!! Maybe we should consider putting him in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade...
  10. My prediction... TOTAL HUMILIATION for the inept Ryan and his sideshow roster of talentless, ersatz professional athletes. The season opener will be over about mid-way thru the first quarter, as the Bills overwhelm the ill-prepared and poorly coached Jets. Traffic on the NJ Turnpike comes to a dead stop for hours as Jets fans rush out of MetLife stadium to hurry home and watch the Giants. Any desperate maneuvers by Desenex-breath to spark fan-interest, and keep from playing the second half in a empty stadium, will be futile. Ryan will continue to shoot his mouth off, and Chan will quietly have the Bills well-prepared... Buffalo Bills 74 New Jersey Jets - 0 GO BILLSSS!!!! "I expect to be undefeated...I expect to win every game." - Chan Gailey 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  11. F*ck Fat Foot-Boy Ryan I know that the Dolphins are the odds-on favorite to finish last in our division this year, but I'll go out on a limb right now and say that the New Jersey Jets will be this season's AFC East cellar-dwellers - and brain-dead, loud-mouth Ryan will be unemployed in 2013... GO BILLSSS!!!! "I expect to be undefeated...I expect to win every game." - Chan Gailey 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  12. 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  13. I love it... "Giggling uncontrollably, Marcell Dareus was still having a difficult time containing his excitement Sunday, a day after getting a first glimpse of the Buffalo Bills' revamped, high-priced defensive line's potential." I can't stop giggling uncontrollably either!!! Brady, SanBow, and a Dolphins QB yet-to-be-named just read that article and fainted. I predict multiple NFL individual and team sacks records for this Buffalo defense... GO BILLSSS!!!! "I expect to be undefeated...I expect to win every game." - Chan Gailey 19 and 0 baby!!!!! .
  14. Sorry Hopeful - I certainly wasn't referring to you when I hastily coined that phrase. I was referring more to those who used your obviously correct OP for their own negative (as usual) purposes; namely, to pile criticism on the Bills offensive strategy, talent level and coaching staff simply because - after a mere 48 hours - they were finding the newly revamped Bills D a difficult challenge. (I would never consider you one of the narrow-minded nincompoops, house-painters, mother-of-pearl-men, Herring Cove vacationers, et al that comprise my ever-growing ignore list ) GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  15. There will always be the narrow-minded nincompoops who don't have the slightest clue that the defense is always ahead of offense at this point (and usually has the edge for a good portion of camp & preseason) . They will naturally draw the conclusion that "We are DOOOOOOOOMED!!!!!!!!" when they read Chan's acidly candid assessment of the offense vs. the defense after just the first 48-hours of camp. I OTOH find it extremely encouraging to know that, by having our offense practicing daily against a defense better than any we'll see in the rest of the entire NFL this season, this Buffalo Bills team will be a dominant force on both sides of the football when the season begins... GO BILLSSS!!! "I expect to be undefeated...I expect to win every game." - Chan Gailey 19 and 0 baby!!!!
  16. Nice find, BeerSphere - I read that piece on Carmon yesterday, and have nothing but good thoughts and high hopes for him here in the BuffTown. It's a long season, and a punishing game. Depth is good. As for RW and cryogenics, Ralph has always been an astute businessman and an extremely smart guy. I does not surprise me that self-preservation would be high on his list of priorities as he prepares for life in whatever football league there is in the beyond and, no doubt having read what happens at the Alcor Foundation, is leaving nothing to chance by starting his own preservation center... Ted Williams' frozen head used for batting practice, says new book GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! .
  17. I have always liked Kelsay - this will be his All Pro season... 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  18. 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  19. Yes, I imagine that down the road he will outshine all the UFL's top QBs
  20. I wonder who the Dolphins will draft with the #1-overall pick in 2013? 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  21. If you're reading this, Mario, for $500K I'll throw in free delivery to St. John Fisher
  22. Amazingly, tucked away in my basement, I happen to have a California King-size that I'm not using. What's a fair price for Mario?
  23. VY threw 2 picks on opening day of training camp with a brand new team, brand new scheme, and brand new supporting cast? OMG...we are so DOOOOOMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Anyone keep track of how many picks Fitzpatrick and Thigpen threw today?) GO BILLLSSS!!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  24. It was part of the 'family night' festivities at Lambeau back in 2005, and so successful that the Bills were high on making it an annual event with GB even back then, but the Packers declined because they didn't want an arrangement where they'd have to come to Buffalo in alternate years.
