  1. Exactly - dude's already been wearing the Bills helmet and colors for four years...
  2. I was glad to read that hospice was involved, as I know that they do a wonderful job of easing the family's grief and ensuring that the patient's final days and moments are as comfortable, pain-free, and dignified as possible. To me, Alex Karras was one of those seemingly larger-than-life NFL characters whom I'll remember more for his movie roles and as part of the early MNF broadcast crews. He was truly one of the "old-timers" - from the days before agents and players' unions, where the guys had to take off-season jobs selling cars, real estate, insurance, etc. Unfortunately (or maybe not), I'm still a bit too young to remember him from his prime days as a player, but knew of his reputation on field. Off the field, whether in the broadcast booth, on the movie screen, or some talk show, he always seemed like one of the nicest and funniest guys - a guy you'd love to spend some time with, toss a few back, and listen to stories from his era. An era, no doubt, much more colorful than today's NFL. Link - Lions great Alex Karras dies at 77 (Detroit Free Press) Fratres qui fuerunt sed nunc ad astra, requiescant in pace.
  3. Honestly, anyone capable of rational thought has to realize that a new stadium makes much more sense than dumping another $200+ million into 'The Ralph'
  4. Not possible...they've committed all their home games to New Jersey for the next 99 years.
  5. Right on, Head of Meat! Being away from Buffalo all week - and all its harsh criticism of the Bills on the radio and TV, in the newspapers, and at the local corner store, gas station, fast-food joint, etc. - is probably the best thing that could happen to our guys at this point. Also, Fitz can use the week back in his hometown to rejuvenate his spirits and re-discover his inner pirate. Meanwhile, the Cardinals have mounting injury problems of their own, an o-line that's given up 17 sacks in the last 2 games, and some uncertainly at QB - is Skelton ready to go, or will Kolb get the nod? Also, this could be a classic "trap game" for Arizona - facing "the lowly Bills" at home after a long week off, with thoughts of traveling to Minnesota next week to play the Vikings. I'm with you, liking the Bills for the big upset this Sunday... Buffalo Bills - 58 Arizona Cardinals - 0 GO BILLSSS!!!! 16 and 3 baby!!!!! .
  6. Sounds great! Greene can throw a figure-four leglock on our any of our LBs who fail to scoop slam opposing RBs, or can't deliver the diving forearm smash to the QB's head. As for Tyler Bray, kid's got great size and potential, but I haven't seen anything that would indicate his intention to declare for the draft a year early (and I doubt that he'll be a first round prospect if he does declare early). Best to think of Bray as a 2014 prospect, when he'll have another season's performance to better evaluate, and will also have bulked up a bit more (he's a young 20 years old right now, and will no doubt add some heft to his 6' 6" 210-pound frame if he drinks his milk and hits the weight room).
  7. I believe what Stevie is saying, in his own way, is... 16 and 3 baby!!!!!
  8. Au contraire... Week 2 Week 3 Week 4 GO BILLSSS!!!! 16 and 3 baby!!!!!
  9. No, I'm not gonna bother - but I kinda thought you'd have that info at the ready, since you're the one who spewed out all that other crap. However, I doubt that - after suffering their own personal loss - they all went on to never again have a bad performance for the remainder of their respective careers.
  10. Didn't Marcell Dareus have his best game this season the week his brother was killed?
  11. A most excellent first post!!! Welcome to the merry-go-round that is The Stadium Wall... GO BILLSSS!!!! 16 and 3 baby!!!!!
  12. Marcell could also likely have meant, "It's just one game" and, instead, what came out of his mouth was, "It's just a game" - particulary in light of his answer to the follow-up about whether the fans also think "it's just a game"... “Of course they think that it is just a game, but it is just tough right now. It is tough on the team, tough on the fans, that is a tough question that some people don’t want to answer, but that is life right now. We are going to get better at it, work it out, it is just tough for everybody right now.” In any case, as others have pointed out, he gets a free pass on this one. I carried my own brother to his grave 3 weeks ago, and know the pain Marcell must be feeling.
  13. Yet I know that, somehow, you'll manage to cast aside your discouragement by Sunday... 16 and 3 baby!!!!!
  14. I guess that would have required some hindsight, Captain! (Hindsight which, apparently, only I had - since the same thing happened last season.)
  15. I guess we can activate David Snow, Reggie Stevens, or Andrew Jackson from the practice squad. Yet, when I suggested drafting David DeCastro (his unfortunate pre-season injury suffered against the Bills aside), I was admonished by some that 1) The Bills are already too deep at the guard position, and 2) Guard is one of the easiest postions to fill. So now I am officially confused.
  16. I actually attribute it to The Curse of Pete Gogolak - whom the Giants signed away from us after the 1965 AFL Championship. To this day, Gogolak remains the Giants all-time leading scorer, while the Bills haven't won a league title since... Link - Gogolak http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCwdz4doxU8 I continue to maintain that the only way to exorcise that demon is for Buffalo to steal a former Cornell player back from the Giants. (Kevin Boothe seems to be playing well and, lo and behold, all of a sudden we have a depth problem at the guard position - unfortunately the Bills FO did not heed my calls to sign Boothe when we was a free agent!!!)
  17. 16 and 3 baby!!!!!
  18. Hopefully nothing, if they win - although if one looks hard enough, I suppose one can always something to whine about.
  19. Cynicism at its finest.
  20. Wow. Just wow. With 11 regular season games to be played, I cannot fathom such despondancy. No doubt folks are in much better spirits after a win, but I can only surmise that the near-suicidal tendencies being displayed after consecutive, embarrassing, blow-out losses just reinforces how passionate Bills' fans are about their team. Sure, we sucked the last two weeks - and sure, we not only sucked...we sucked really, really bad - but I am of the strong opinion that this board will have a completely different tone next Monday. Possible QB questions for the Cardinals (Skelton is healthy and practicing) - plus facing "the lowly Bills", at home, after a long week, with the idea of traveling to Minnesota to face the Viking the following week looming in the back their minds - all could add up to a stunning upset by the Bills. I'm thinking that a week back in his home town helps Fitz get his head screwed back on straight... Buffalo Bills - 58 Arizona Cardinals - 0 As for any talk of relocation, the Buffalo Bills will be playing their home games here in WNY long after we are all food for worms. GO BILLSSS!!!! 16 and 3 baby!!!!! .
  21. Just how insecure are you? An "I told you so post" begging for obsequious apologies because your cynical opinions, five weeks into the season, have yet to be proven wrong? I would never call you a troll. PATHETIC troll is much more accurate... GO BILLSSS!!!! 16 and 3 baby!!!!! .
  22. Some of you guys are actually beginning to sound like... Mike Leach "I think that a guy who plays...football gets enough attention... It's "a bunch of narcissists that want to sit and type stuff about themselves all the time. We'll put mirrors in some of their lockers if that's necessary but they don't have to Twitter."
  23. It's ridiculous. And it looks ridiculous. BTW, I didn't notice any pink on Jim Harbaugh today.
