  4. I know that certain species of the wild emu are all-but-extinct, and others endangered, but what ever happened to Jimmy, anyway?
  5. To each his own, they say. I actually DO pay the extra $$$ to sit in the Paul McGuire Club, but I still have to get thru the lots to get to the gate, and - once thru the gate - thru the stadium to get to the club, and it's just not worth putting up with the moronic neanderthals who who either can't handle thier alcohol, or are just too stupid to have any concept of decorum. I've been to at least a dozen other NFL stadia - including multiple visits to Kingdome, Foxboro, Oakland, LA Coliseum, Candlestick, Meadowlands, old Baltimore Memorial, RFK, et al - and have NEVER uncountered anything as barbaric as the utterly uncivilized primates at RWS.
  6. I'm convinced that night games should be banned at RWS - there is just too large a percentage of the WNY demographic that is too uncivilized and too stupid to be expected to comport themselves appropriately. After the last MNF game at RWS (Nov 2008 vs. Cleveland), I was so disgusted by the behavior of a very large portion of Bills fans that I vowed to never attend another night game at The Ralph - raging bonfires left burning and abandoned not 5 feet from the gas tanks of parked vehicles and causing a thick, sooty, eye-burning, lung-searing cloud of woodfire smoke over the all of Orchard Park; hordes of drunken, screaming idiots throwing up and falling down everywhere; violent fights galore; and an extremely uncomfortable sense of real danger. It was literally like a scene right out of Escape from New York, and not exactly the game-day experience that the Bills marketing department portrays in their advertising and promotional campaigns. I kept my vow last night and stayed home, but - despite all the measures that the Bills and the NFL have put in place to curtail such behaviour - it sounds like things haven't changed at all. And that's a shame.
  7. Realisitically, one would have to concede that, after Sunday's loss to NE*, the Bills season is unlikely to go 19 games and culminating in a Superbowl victory. Even I find it increasing unlikely that we will have a 19-game season, and can no longer postulate such a scenario... 14 and 6 baby!!!!! GO BILLSSS!!!!
  8. . Colossal Bills road victory at NE* sets up nostalgic Buffalo vs. Miami faceoff for 1st place in the AFC East... Buffalo Bills 57 New England Cheatriettes* 0 GO BILLSSS!!!! 14 and 5 baby!!!!!

  13. I've always advocated a facility just a bit further south, on the old Bethlehem Steel site, mainly because there's just SOOOO much land there for parking and tailgating, the rail infrastructure still remains in place (making mass transit a cinch), and - for ease of ingress/egress - it's pretty much at the intersection of Route 5, Milestrip Rd., and the NYS Thruway. (And, that land would be extremely problematic to rehabilitate for any other use). But I do just LOVE this lastest proposal, and Gov. Cuomo is already on record saying he's got a $$billion$$ just waiting to give to Buffalo for the right project. RWS was built roughly a decade after Candlestick Park, which the 49ers are now replacing with a 68,000 seat facility in Santa Clara. This project is right for Buffalo on so many levels, and makes WAY more sense than dumping another $200-300M into the aging stadium in Orchard Park. (As others have said, 72,000 seats may be a bit too large - a 68,000-seat like the one the 49ers are building seem about right for WNY.) Will it ever happen? Who knows. Finally, after decades of nothing at all, we're witnessing some significant development around the Cobblestone and Canalside districts, and moving UB's med school downtown is sure to change both the landscape and the demograhics of downtown. I would be amazing if, five years from now, we could see something like this... Link -Downtown Stadium Proposed For Buffalo Bills – Images and Presentation
  14. OMG, this crazy love affair with Andy Luck is STILL going on? You do realize his stats are fairly pedestrian, yes? (Weeden's are better.) Guys like Luck come around regularly, usually every draft. Best to wait for him to actually accomplish something in the NFL, before carving his HOF bust. Meanwhile, luck may still come to the Bills - in the form of USC's Matt Barkley! I've aways liked Barkley WAY more than Luck - and the Bills, if they keep finding ways to lose games they should have won, just may have a shot at Barkley come April. Barkley torched Colorado for 6 TDs last week, setting a new PAC-12 record for passing TDs in the process (102) with 5 games remaining. (Andy threw a mere 82 TDs in his Stanford career.) GO BILLSSS!!!!
