Why is Russ B at the Combine?
The Senator replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is there anything truly more cathartic than a full, foul, fine-feeling, fecal elimination? Who can help but stare in utter astonishment, mouth agape, wondering, "Holy crap...that was inside of me???" I can't but help feeling like the Bills just finished taking a 10-year, 500-pound dump... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! . -

Why is Russ B at the Combine?
The Senator replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously - what is all this nonsense of Russ Brandon first at the Senior Bowl, and now at the combine? Clearly, those are not places you want your team's President & CEO to be - he should be back at OBD making decisions on what type of blacktop sealant to use on the stadium parking lots. If I'm the owner, I certainly don't want my top guy where he can meet in one place with all the teams' scouts, coaches, talent evaluators, potential players, players agents, NFL executives, other teams owners, executives, coaches, etc. What benefit could that possibly hold for this team now and in the future, when trades are to be made, and the need for other business dealings and accommodations may arise? -
The arguement for taking a QB in Rd. 1

The Senator will be pleased with whatever the Bills' brain trust deems wise in April's draft, so long as it includes drafting Matt Barley with the #8-overall pick... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! -
So let me see if I understand... What the OP is saying, is that the Bills need to draft a QB? Yeah, OK...I agree with that. Myself, I'll be happy with Matt Barkley. GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!

I just hope it will be a genuine "open competition" as opposed to the ersatz 'open competition' that Chan Gailey ran where, despite Gailey's lip service to the contrary, the job was clearly Trent Edwards' to lose. (And, once the regular season began, Trent did just that - lose the job after two games, thus wasting QB expert Chan Gailey's 6 months of OTA/mini-camp/training camp/and preseason open competition and evaluation) I wonder if Brad Smith will also be part of this competition, and will we throw our 1st-round pick Matt Barkley into the mix? Any chance of Tebow coming here as a TE/#3 QB??? GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! .

Gil Brandt of NFL.com evaluates College QBs by Numbers

ouch...guess I forgot the Cardinals moved! of course I meant Arizona...guess I my bad...hepatic encephalopathy has apparently beset me so forget what I said about Sam Bradford too - my mind must be elsewhere these days but remember what I said about MB - for the Bills, getting Barkley is the key to everything this coming season and beyond... The attitude of a good coaching staff

The key to everything - EVERYTHING - is getting Matt Barkley in the draft. Doug Marrone + Mike Pettine + Nate Hacket + Matt Barkley = Superbowl contenders for the next 10 years... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! -

Several recent mocks show the Rams taking Barkely at #7-overall, just before we pick. I can't believe St. Louis will give up on Sam Bradford, a #1-overall pick, after just 3 seasons - so let's keep our fingers crossed and hope Matt Barkley falls into our lap... A four-year starter and three-time captain, Barkley is probably the most prepared guy in this group in terms of readiness to be an NFL quarterback. There are some questions about his athletic ability; it's going to be interesting to see what he does in the athletic drills at the NFL Scouting Combine. He had a much worse season in 2012 than he did the year before; if I had used his stats from 2011, Barkley would have scored much higher. The question is, will teams get the Barkley of 2011 or the Barkley of 2012? He was also injured at the end of the season. I wouldn't be surprised if, by the time the draft rolls around, he's the second quarterback taken... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! -
One of the best Bills player ever - perhaps THE best - and certainly the most loyal to the city, the fan-base, and the Bills enterprise. (And I'll always remember The Dean and I running into him and Testaverde on Bourbon Street during the1987 FInal Four, and having a beverage and pleasant - albeit brief - conversation with them.) 53 YEARS YOUNG - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JIM, YOU YOUNG WHIPPER SNAPPER - AND MANY HAPPY RETURNS!!!!! QBs are getting ready for the combine

. I see nothing wrong with taking Nassib... ...if the first 3 rounds blow up in our face and will still don't have a QB by round 4 (but I'll stand by my 'tummy feel' that we'll be taking Matt Barkley at #8-overall) GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! -

. Not to mention bounties on opposing DEs & OLBs . Fair enuff, but if Hairston is our starting RT, I remain concerned about an OT depth chart of Sam Young/Thomas Welch/Chris Scott (We have seen, over the past 2 consecutive seasons, our entire OL drop like flies as the seasons wore on.) A little veteran leadership couldn't hurt this young OL, either - though it doesn't HAVE to be Bushrod. Who else then? -
. wait a minute... first, an LT that didn't know his real name was demetress... now, a DT that doesn't know his real birth date ???? More importantly... WTF are you not at Pebble Beach????

. Well if it's purely to backup Glenn, then no amount of Levitre can help Bushrod rise in stature. Guy'll be 29 years old when the season starts - you really think he'll get $10M/year? (If that's the case, Jason Peters will likely be cut by the Eagles, and may be a better prospect for Cordy Glenn's back-up) . -

Grabbing Bushrod just seems to go well with having Levitre on hand. Guy's a 2x Pro Bowl LT - was Cordy Glenn all that great in his rookie season? -
