  1. Nix was a GM - not a scout - when he hired Gailey as head coach.
  2. Kevin Boothe (G) is still out there - started 16 games at left guard for NY Giants last season, can also play center and - in a pinch - tackle. What are Nix/Whaley waiting for???? (They should also look at Cornell OL J.C. Tretter as an undrafted free agent is he doesn't get drafted on day 3)
  3. Indeed - a medical “420 card” would be useful right for me now - a little purple kush would provide some welcome relief from the nausea & pain. Unfortunately, New York State is still in the Dark Ages as far as that (and many other things) goes... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  4. Have we no 'eyes' at Buffalo Airport or Tempo this off-season??? I have a feeling the Bills will be announcing a Kevin Boothe signing before long... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  5. Amazing...the grammar police strike again. Tell us; in your extensive studies of the English language, and with your galactic knowlege thereof, have you never heard of something called a contraction??? To infer that "A's" is plural would imply that there is more than one of something called an "A" when, in fact, there is nothing called an "A" - "A's" is simply a contraction for the Oakland "Athletics". "Athletics" = A's. Get it??? (Having lived in the Bay area for 7 years, I can assure you that you and your link - The Grammar Vandal - are both wrong.) GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! .
  6. I would sign Matt Barkley
  7. Torn achilles, torn tricep, 29 years old, plus he sucks. That's probably why the Bills aren't interested. But Kevin Boothe IS still available.... (Git 'er done, Buddy!)
  8. tis true - i regularly do reps with 1500 pounds or more
  9. Possibly they could go after Barkley, but I think they're pretty invested in Skelton. More likely Kolb was just a financial decision - he was due a $2M roster bonus, plus $9M in base salary in 2013.
  10. Hmmm...8 pages about losing a backup guard...must be the offseason (Bills should just sign NY Giants FA guard Kevin Boothe, and all will be well again.)
  11. Boothe will be 30 in July. He's a guard who, in a pinch, can also be plugged in at OT or center. He would bring with him 2 Superbowl rings and some veteran leadership. His salary last year was $1.5 M. He's on the Bears' radar, and supposedly considering mutliple offers. Let's hope one of them is from the Bills.
  12. I was thinking more of a sort of deep cordovan
  13. All of a sudden, looking at the OL depth chart, the Bills seem a little thin at the Guard position. What the Bills need to do – especially in light of losing Levitre – is to sign NY Giants free agent offensive guard/tackle/center and former Cornellian Kevin Boothe. Boothe is 29 and has 2 Superbowl rings, so he brings some veteran experience along the versatility, like Levitre, of being able to be ‘plugged in’ to multiple OL positions. As a free agent Cornellian from the NY Giants, signing Boothe qualifies to ‘reverse the curse’ of Pete Gogolak - a Cornellian whom the Giants signed away from the Bills way back when we were back-to-back AFL Champions, and we haven’t won a league title since! Boothe’s last contract with the Giants paid him $1.5M/year, so I gotta think he’s both obtainable and affordable... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! ,
  14. I'd say it's a virtual certainty that the Bills will draft either Smith or Barkley on day one of the draft. My money is on Barkley... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  15. You do realize that the Bills have not won a league Championship since Pete Gogolak bolted the AFL's Bills for the NFL's NY Giants. I believe we need another Cornellian to 'reverse the curse' of Pete Gogolak. Ideally, to get even with the Mara family for the Gogolak thing, we should sign the NY Giants' current free agent, former Cornellian Kevin Boothe. The past 2-3 years, our O-lineman have dropped like flies in the late season - it seems we can never have enough depth on O-line. Personally, I'd love to steal the Giants Kevin Boothe in free agency AND draft J.C.Tretter on day 3 -- two Cornellians should be enough to 'reverse the curse'!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  16. I think the '$9M talk' comes from the franchise # for offensive linemen - which includes left tackles. (There probably should be a separate franchise # for guards, but there isn't.) Levitre knows he's not getting top left-tackle type money. Levitre's last contract was for $3.5M over 4 years - avg. salary of $890K. I'm thinkin' something in the $3-4M per year range gets Andy's name on a contract. Git 'er done, Buddy... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  17. Anyone who thinks we are NOT taking either Geno Smith or Matt Barkley in round one is off their rocker. JMO. GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  18. Well, maybe I'm pushing it, but some guys seem like it doesn't matter to them if they stay here or go elsewhere (Jason Peters, Marshawn Lynch, etc.), while some (Stevie Johnson) profess their loyalty to the franchise and a desire to stay here. Levitre has said he wants to stay - that, for a number of reasons, he'd rather remain in Buffalo and hopes that he can. (His wife is from here, too.) That's all I meant.
  19. I just naturally assume that, whenever a sack is allowed, it was Jason Peters' fault
  20. It would be stupid for the Bills to let Levitre go without at least 'throwing an offer' at him. Guy's been a loyal Bill, and a better-than-decent and extremely versatile o-line guy. He be snapped up in a New York second if the Bills let him hit the FA market. And The Senator will be pissed. Season ticket holders are watching, Russ, and I haven't sent in my renewal yet.
  21. Thanks Dibs - was unaware of rule on #2 that we can't use transition and franchise tags in one year (btw - moot point here, but another one I did not know - a team can designate 2 'transition' players in the same year if they have not used their 'franchise' tag) Theoretically, I suppose we could work out a deal for a trade if the destination team and Levitre would agree to terms prior to the trade (would only make sense if a team wanted Levitre badly enough to want to keep him from entering free agency, and if the money was adequate to dissuade Levitre from testing the free agency waters.) Personally, I still think the Bills will work a deal with Andy before March 12th - he's too good and too versatile to replace with an unknown entity... GO BILLSSS!!!!! Personally, I think the Bills will work a deal with Andy.
  22. So...5 pages later, let me offer this opine that one of 3 things will happen - 1) The Bills will sign Levitre before FA begins; or... 2) The Bills will slap the 'Transition Player' tag on Levitre, requiring an offer of the average salary of the leagues top 10 offensive linemen, and giving the Bills the right to match any offer; or... 3) The Bills will trade Levitire. Somehow, I don't buy that there has been no contact between the two sides. Nor do I beleive the Bills will just allow Levitre to enter free agency unfettered by the 'Transition' label. GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
