Draft Prospects in play for Buffalo at #9
The Senator replied to TigerJ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The one thing I don’t want the Bills to do is reach. I also hope they don’t trade down. Jonah Williams is the guy I really want, but there are other quality OTs in this draft. I’d be happy with Williams or DK Metcalf in round one. . -
Bills/Redskins Potential Trade Down
The Senator replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, if the Giants or Jaguars do take Haskins, I don’t see any need for the Redskins to trade up. If Haskins is available, then the ‘skins might want to move up to get ahead of Denver. Personally, I would be wary of a 3rd year sophomore QB with only 14 starts - he’s not going to see any playing time in 2019. Beane has said that the Bills really don’t need to be in the top 10. I disagree and hope the Bills stay put at #9, but maybe Beane thinks that Jonah Williams or DK Metcalf will fall out of the top 10. Those would be the 2 guys I’d target in round one. Then again, I believe Colin Kaepernick is available - maybe the Redskins can sign him and this will all be moot. . -
Jim Kelly wants to sit down with Josh Allen...
The Senator replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe Jim just wants to give him some advice about the restaurant business. . -
Oh PUHLEEZE!!! You really think Bruno Mars wouldn’t perform again if asked??? Beyonce??? Lenny Kravitz or Stevie Wonder??? No one gives a crap about Colin Kaepernick. .

I really don’t enjoy today’s overhyped halftime extravaganzas. The last one I enjoyed was Prince Katy Perry was good as well. I hate rap - it’s not music at all. I don’t like Lady Gaga. I don’t know who Maroon 5 is, but if they appeal to young children, they probably wouldn’t appeal to me. Also, it seems like the commercials used to be better, funnier, and more entertaining. Used to get together with a bunch of friends, and have pools on everything. Really, the craziest things, like how long it would take Dick Enberg to say “Oh, my!” Now, I kind of keep an eye on the game, use the commercial breaks to make a snack or use the bathroom, and find something else to do at halftime. God, I’m old. ..

Matt Milano and Surgeries in the NFL
The Senator replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, dunno about that. I consider myself an average Joe, and a few years back, I took a hard tumble and fractured my wrist. I was admitted to the hospital, where they operated to place a titanium plate and 8 screws. It healed perfectly, and quickly. (And, I enjoyed the Fentynal and Dilaudid they gave me for anesthesia! ?) . -
As a cancer patient myself, I’m so happy for Jim. But, you can see how the chemo, the radiation, and multiple surgeries have ravaged his body, and that’s so sad. And now, according to this morning’s Buffalo Snooze,he has to undergo back surgery to remove a cyst from his spine. Geez, I had no idea the poor guy has so much hardware in his neck and back already! .

Alex Smith Likely to miss all of 2019
The Senator replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel badly for Smith, but not surprised after seeing the hit that likely ended his career. Maybe we can unload Derek Anderson on the Redskins? . -
What makes anyone think that Anderson would be a better coach than Culley and his 18 years of coaching experience? Besides, Allen is already working with Jordan Palmer and Jim Kelly... https://buffalonews.com/2019/01/25/buffalo-bills-jim-kelly-josh-allen-pro-bowl-kyle-williams-one-on-one-coverage-vic-carucci-nfl-football/ https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2019/1/24/18194899/josh-allen-working-out-with-former-nfl-quarterback-jordan-palmer-buffalo-bills-sean-mcdermott and Carson Palmer believes Josh Allen is the best QB from the 2018 draft... https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2019/01/25/josh-allen-buffalo-bills-2019-training-jordan-palmer/2676780002/ .

2019 Mock Drafts and top prospects
The Senator replied to thunderingsquid's topic in College Football
LOVE your 1st 3 picks. Am a bit worried about Savion Smith’ s poor performance in the title game, and the injury. IMHO, Dexter Williams seems a bit on the small side for RB. JMO. Does Coney have a marijuana issue? Also, Winovich needs a haircut. ? I’d be just fine with the rest of your picks. . -
UB’s Tyree Jackson has declared for the NFL draft
The Senator replied to YoloinOhio's topic in College Football
Tyree has the one QB asset that cannot be taught - 6 feet 7 inches tall! i agree with the pundits who say he would benefit greatly by playing out his senior year, but I also can’t blame him for trying his luck in the draft, rather than risking a devastating injury while still in college. Remember what happened to Willis McGahee in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl? Tore his ACL, PCL, and MCL, dropped from a certain top 5 pick to #23, and sat out the entire 2003 season to undergo several surgeries and rehabilitation. Jeez, I don’t know why these NFL-bound guys even risk playing bowl games. That said, I would love to see the Bills sign Jackson as a UDFA. Maybe he could be our 3rd QB, or find a spot on the practice squad. JMO . -
Buffalo actually made a good list
The Senator replied to Chicharito's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I thought about that one too, but I think Goodell is more prone to make exceptions for cities with a new stadium - especially a brand spankin’ new palace like MetLife (the most expensive stadium ever built, with the largest capacity of any NFL stadium, at the time it opened). Also, NYC is a much larger market, with way more than enough hotels and restaurants, and with considerably more clout and appeal than Buffalo. Heck, Buffalo’s hotels and restaurants are bursting at the seams even when we occasionally host the first round of March Madness. Can’t wait to see how we handle the Frozen Four in April. . -
Buffalo actually made a good list
The Senator replied to Chicharito's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wanna know why Buffalo will never host the Super Bowl? In addition to requiring a 70,000 capacity stadium, climate controlled if the outside temperature falls below 50 degrees, here are some of the other ridiculous requirements: https://www.rd.com/culture/super-bowl-host-city-requirements/ . -

What’s your most Controversial opinion?
The Senator replied to Juror#8's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Mike Leach for Head Coach of the Bills. . -
“At no level do I see how the Red Raider team is responsible for any tortillas being thrown. We watch over them very carefully and, before they take the field, we ensure that none of them have tortillas.” - Mike Leach, 2002, on being warned by officials about Texas Tech fans throwing tortillas on the field Somehow, when SDS made some changes to TSW, that great Leach quote was removed from under my avatar. Anyway, I was informed repeatedly on this forum that neither the Spread nor the Air Raid would EVER work in the NFL. ? .

OT Jonah Williams in the first
The Senator replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jonah Williams has long been my choice. Forget what WalterFootball says - they are idiots. Williams has previously been projected as a top 5 pick, and I just hope he’s available at #9. JMO . -
Just got a stadium survey from the Bills
The Senator replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All of the stadiums you mention were built with expansion capability to 70,000+. In fact, the smallest you mention, State Farm, held 78,000+ for the 2016 FBS title game. But you are right, Buffalo could never host the Big Game, and here’s why... https://www.si.com/nfl/audibles/2014/06/09/super-bowl-2018-requirements-minnesota-vikings . -
Just got a stadium survey from the Bills
The Senator replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand the “renovation opinion”, but personally think we’d be throwing good money after bad, for a stadium that, inevitably, will eventually need to be replaced. i also don’t see how it’s even possible, structurally, to widen the corridors within the stadium’s existing footprint. As we can observe, the corridors exist below the seats, and the rake of the corridor ceiling gets lower and lower as you approach the tunnels leading you back to your seat, to the point where it’s just a few feet from floor to ceiling. There is absolutely no way, structurally, to widen those corridors on the seat side, and to widen them from the outside would require enlarging the footprint. You would basically have to do a total rebuild - i.e., build what would essentially be a new stadium, or just bite the bullet and build a new one on an adjacent site - and I doubt it can be done for $250M.
