  1. Then we should still rejoice, only longer. But I thought Beane was involved in the negotiations, and his quote was that, in the end , the deal didn’t make sense for either the Bills or the Steelers. So we really don’t know if the Steelers were asking too much, or Brown, or both. Just because Rappaport or some other hack said it was because Brown refused to come here, we should believe that? .
  2. This thread is getting ridiculous. As Bills fans, we should be rejoicing that Beane wasn’t willing to overpay Brown and overcompensate the Steelers. Hallelujah! Beane didn’t throw his long term rebuilding plan out the window for a 10th year WR with attitude problems and maybe 2 good years left, maybe just one. BTW, what’s the over/under on number of replies to this thread by noon today? (I say it goes over 5000) .
  3. Jonah Williams. You can never have enough guys named Williams. We could change our name from Buffalo Bills to Buffalo Williams. BTW, nice to be talking about something other than The Antonio Brown thing today. .
  4. All good WRs are divas? JFC, that’s a dumb thing to say. HOFers Andre Reed, Jerry Rice, Art Monk, Steve Largent, Charlie Joiner, James Lofton were divas? .
  5. Have never watched the show, never will. .
  6. Legendary Buffalo Pro Wrestler passes at age 88... https://buffalonews.com/2019/03/07/legendary-buffalo-pro-wrestler-dick-the-destroyer-beyer-dies-at-88/
  7. I heard rumors that he was so strung out during that Toronto stop that he was rolling on the floor screaming, and couldn’t rehearse or take the stage until Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman went and scored some heroin for him. After the bustin addition to treatment, he was sentenced to perform a benefit for the blind, which was moved to Oshawa due to ticket demand. Being pretty sure that the Stones would show up, my brother and slept out on Easter at Young and Bloor to score tickets. Sure enough, after Keith and his New Barbarians finished their set, Jaggar, Watts, and Wyman joined Keith and Ron Wood for a 2-hour set... https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/stones-serve-out-keith-richards-sentence-191169/ Anyway, Keith swears he’s off the horse, both in his book and on every talk show he’s appeared. But, on one recent talk show he was asked if there’s anything he misses about his younger days, and he replied, “Heroin.” Now, he claims he’s also recently given up drinking. It is truly amazing, given all his proclivities, that he has not succumbed to an OD, hepatitis, lung cancer, or cirrhosis. .
  8. It seems the man’s problems span across many years and multiple states, with a fairly large number of accusers, along with a multitude of cases that he either beat on technicalities or settled out of court for substantial sums... https://www.vulture.com/article/what-did-r-kelly-do-investigation.html Hard to believe that every single one of those accusers is/was a liar. JMO .
  9. That simply defies all actuarial tables. .
  10. I gave the movie 3 stars, mainly because it was about the Bills and the first string missing the Superbowl because they ate some bad oysters, pretty ridiculous plot. (And because Flutie, Ditka, and Berman were in it.) .
  11. Does he deserve an Oscar for his absolutely unbelievable and bizarre interview with Gayle King on CBS This Morning... Not only is the guy a predator, but apparently a terrible actor, IMO. .
  12. My understanding is that pancreatic cancer is the 2nd most aggressive after glioblastoma, so he’s in for a difficult fight. .
  13. It faded into oblivion after the Bob Kraft and R. Kelly scandals. .
  14. Gotta agree on both counts. Michael would have never given the kids to Kaye, or allow Connie to run the family. .
  15. Roswell takes pretty good care of me. I have an MRI or CT Scan every couple months, and every time they find something new, they take care of it quickly. .
  16. Liver. Primary, so far not matasticized anywhere else. Had 5 procedures at Roswell to embolize/ablate tumors. .
  17. My big bro at 56. Now, the Big C is kicking my own butt. Yer born, ya meet some people, ya die. Eat, drink, be merry. .
  18. Well, they let me in, so you’re probably right! ? Actually, CU’s list of dropouts is quite impressive - Huey Lewis, Kurt Vonnegut, et al. .
  19. I auditioned, and was accepted, at Curtis, Julliard, and Eastman - never would have imagined that Cornell’s music faculty was among the finest in the world. Studied theory and composition with 2 Pulitzer Prize winners (Karel Husa, Steven Stucky), music history w/Donald Grout and Don Randel, performance with Malcom Bilson. On top of all that, got to take Astro 101 with Carl Sagan, history w/L. Pierce Williams and Walter LaFeber, a boatload of other sh*t with great profs, plus experienced one of the most beautiful campuses anywhere. Never would have happened at a music conservatory. Ezra Cornell stated, “I would found an institution where any person could find instruction in any study” - he certainly kept that promise. Now, I’d like to go back to study Enology and Viticulture - maybe mead would join me?? .
  20. I always wondered how, after being expelled from Harvard for cheating on a Spanish exam (paid a classmate to take the test for him), Ted Kennedy managed to get back in? .
  21. Indeed. As John Lennon said, life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans. . Grade inflation is most certainly real, especially st Harvard, Yale, Princeton. Otherwise, how could Bush, Brooke Sheilds, or any of the Kennedys possibly hold a degree? .
  22. Yer the best! .’
  23. I once had a stupid sh^t SVP of sales/marketing. Dude was dumber than dirt. I didn’t make the hiring decision, but I made the firing one. Guy was a Providence College grad, a fine school, but he simply could not shut the f**k up about what he repeatedly and insistently called his ‘second alma mater’, Stanford. Turns out he attended one of SU’s 8-week summer beauty pageants, and got some kind of certificate. .
  24. $250K for FF&E 30 years ago? That’d be about a mil today, yes? .
