Nixon was practicing law in NYC with future AG and Watergate figure John Mitchell between his failed 1962 California gubernatorial campaign and his successful 1968 Presidential campaign. And, at my age, I'm painfully familiar with the events of Nov. 22, 1963 and Johnson's inauguration aboard Air Force One. (BTW - that was one of 5 Presidential inaugurations/oaths of office that did not take place in Washington DC - who can name the others?)
