The Sqeaky Wheel Get's The Release.
The Senator replied to Steely Dan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I'm sorry, but I do not wish to be chastised nor admonished - what's the topic here? Is this thread about the Summer of 1969, Charles Manson, or Lynette 'Sqeaky' Fromme - Gerald Ford's would-be assassin? -

Now, if I should make any reference to her assassination attempt on President Ford, would that be veering off-topic? -

Funny, I don't remember saying anything even close to any of that - link please? But I really don't care where FatBoy wants to be to give his half-assed effort this year - Philadelphia or wherever - as long as it's not here! The Bills are on the cusp of something great, and they don't need any disinterested, half-hearted, half-witted, injury-prone profit monger on the roster as they being this season's March to Miami... 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!! -

Uh, sure...absolutely, in fact. How 'bout we both accept the story in it's entirety? I could have just as easily highlighted it this way, to the same effect... "The Lions, Rams, Seahawks, Bengals, Raiders and Jaguars could all use a guy with Peters' ability to man the premier spot along the offensive line for the next six years... "Perhaps the reason more teams weren't involved is because they had some of the same concerns the Bills had in regards to Peters. The Bills have had Peters on their roster for the past five seasons and yet they could not compel themselves to offer him the $10 million a year he was seeking. He had begun to show too many of the bad habits that caused a 340-pound athlete running a 4.8 40-yard dash out of college to go undrafted. That made such a sizable investment too much to stomach....On his way towards becoming the next great one he grew unhappy with his compensation because he was underpaid for his production based upon his 2007 season and the Bills were paying a couple of inferior linemen more. But two wrongs don't make a right and Peters was out of touch the entire offseason. He reported to Buffalo out of shape, overweight, disinterested and it showed in his lackluster performance. That made the Bills particularly uneasy to make him the highest paid player at his position. Personally, I would have made him play out his contract in western New York, but the Bills didn't want to go through last year all over again and began to entertain trade offers." -

I'm not so sure about that 'earned the respect around the league' thing, but Peters' stupidity and questionable work ethic certainly have raised some eyebrows... Ross Tucker SI/CNN 4/22/2009 link As for the Pro Bowl thing, we all know Pro Bowl voting is a freaking joke. A guy who led the NFL among blind-side tackles in sacks-allowed getting voted to the Pro Bowl??? Right. -

link? I'll be happy to - just as soon as Thurman#1 stops trying to rebut - sequentially - each and every single freaking post that seems even slightly critical of FatBoy Peters sub-par performance and stupid, lazy, selfish attitude. -
Actually, it would appear that the pardon and release of these journalists was pre-arranged weeks ago, with the U.S. 'pullback' of it's public demand for their release to the North Korean gov't, and Ms. Clinton's public statement of apology. Once that North Korean demand was met, all that was left was for Obama to capitulate fully to Kim Jong-il's demand for a 'face-to-face' meeting and photo op with nothing less than a former U.S. President - so all Slick Willie had to do was hop on a gov't plane and reap the benefits of a done deal. In reality, it was probably Al Gore - whose Current TV network employed the two journalists - that worked harder than anyone for their release, and who likely prevailed upon Clinton to help out, although I noticed Hillary's making a little noise in the New York Times this morning, insisting she was involved, no doubt concerned that Bill doesn't get all the credit and marginalize her stature as Sec. of State and future Presidential candidate.

Very true. Bell is committed to making the most out of the opportunity the Bills have handed him and becoming the best football player he can be; Peters is a fat stupid lazy schitt who admitted he dogged it last season 'cause he was pissed about his contract, then - after getting his $60M contract/$24M guarantee - on the first day of camp, tweaked his quad running from the bedroom to the breakfast table. -

"Andrews isn’t the lone question mark on this new unit. Only in the twisted math of the Eagles do 11 sacks allowed by Peters last season compute to an upgrade over the two sacks permitted by Thomas. "Peters explained that his contract dispute in Buffalo affected his performance. Now that’s the kind of committed professional you want protecting the blind side of Donovan McNabb." link Yes, Stupid Lazy FatBoy already has a Fan Club in Philly! -

I guess that can happen when you give a $60M contract to a guy that scored 6 on the Wonderlic. -

The Senator replied to Lori's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True, although he seems to hate the Bills every bit as much as the idiots on 'GR. I'll tune in for a sample - if for no other reason than to see if he's mellowed at all - and maybe try to call in and piss him off. "Hi, coach? Yeah coach, this is Bob from Depew...hey coach, why did Levy fire your big fat stupid sorry ass after the loss to the Redskins in Superbowl XXVI?" Then, he'll challenge me to a fist fight... -

Wilhelm signs with the Eagles
The Senator replied to Sen. John Blutarsky's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very interesting... "Jason Peters was absent from practice and wasn't even on the field working out with the training staff. The tackle suffered a quad spasm last week and missed the first three days of full-squad practice." Now there's $60M well spent! Anyone else with a $24M guarantee get a quad spasm running from their bedroom to the breakfast table? -
Peters On Pup List For a Quad Injury
The Senator replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And if there was an 'Oh-My-Gosh-I'd-Love-To-Sniff-Jason-Peters-Jock-Strap Society', you'd definitely be Founder, President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer What I don't get at all is that you seem to take any criticism of Jason Peters as a personal affront, and feel so compelled to rebut every single post that may be construed as even slightly negative regarding his selfish greed, lack of commitment to his team and to his profession, inability to finish a season w/out injury, and his 6-Wonderlic score. What's that all about? -

Fixed. Williams and Winfield were under the Donahoe regime. Clements was asking for a ridiculous amount of $$$$ - more than he was worth. So, apparently, was Peters, who - despite having his contract reworked once - demanded more based on one season's performance, gave a half-assed effort last season - leading the league among blindside tackles in sacks allowed, failed to finish the last two seasons due to injury, and now sits on the Eagles PUP list. -
