  1. That'd take SKOOOOOOOOOOOBY at least a month
  2. ??? ??? Strange - nowhere in that article doe it state that Talib was locked illegally in the back of a cab against his will, nor robbed of his change by a recidivist-drunk cabbie driving illegally w/out a valid license
  3. Yes, I am surprised Mr. Radecki doesn't just keep a crossbow under his front seat to deal with the 'jumpers' Anyway, I'm not even sure how the Fish & Game Warden would respond to this...
  4. No problem, EII - we'll see how it all plays out (as we should, before convicting the Kanes in the court of public opinion). In the meantime, as the recidivist John (or is it Jan? ) Radecki might say... Na Zdrowie!
  5. I've read that those things - when agitated by the sound of boat motors - start jumping out of the water, and have actually concussed boaters and fishermen...
  6. Good God, you DO need remedial reading. (Try paragraph 2, sentence 1.)
  7. Well, I think it would be intuitive to just about anyone but a total imbecile that locking someone in a car against their will is illegal. I guess I could take the time to do a search on WESTLAW, but Radecki's own attorney (Andrew LoTempio) acknowledged that the practice may be illegal. Do you need remedial reading or what? I said - repeatedly - that the recidivist-drunk Radecki, operating a cab illegally without a valid drivers license, refused to give the Kane boys their $1.20 in change which they were justly due, which they requested, and which the criminal Radecki was not in any way entitled to withhold, so where the f&ck do you keep getting 20 cents? (I also pointed out that a quick calculation of the mileage against regulated Buffalo livery fares seems to indicate that the crooked Radecki was already overcharging the Kane boys approximately 3 bucks.) Sorry to disappoint - not even close. I'm an East Side kid of Polish descent - so go back to the drawing board and try finding a different angle of attack, son. In the meantime, while you're regrouping... Kane arrives at court to enter plea "The 20-year-old Chicago Blackhawk and his cousin, James M. Kane, 21, appeared with their attorneys and denied the charges before Chief City Judge Thomas P. Amodeo." WTF happened to that plea bargain and $$big$$ out-of-court settlement, Deano???
  8. Thought UB alums everywhere would be proud... Link - Righting a wrong, Orlando to honor UB’s 1958 team Link - Gesture to UB rights an old wrong
  9. Or - at least - if he drops his keys, be sure to kick them all the way back home before bending over to pick them up! (Promo - Lombard/Russian Hill is nowhere hear The Castro, aka 'BoysTown')
  10. Hey Promo - if you're there today, you may get to see Lombard Street like few have the chance... Stroll Down Lombard Street to CandyLand
  11. A car full of 17 & 18 y.o. cheerleaders, 5 days after graduation - absolute tragedy... link Yet every day I see folks - youths and older adults who should know better - with a cigarette in one hand, a latte in another, and a cell fone in still another, while they use the remaining hand (just how many hands do they have, anyway?) to adjust the radio as they steer the car with their knees! I am a huge proponent of doubling or tripling the fines for that offense along with strict enforcement and no tolerance - maybe even suspending the licenses of violators. JMO. That video was gruesome - and every driver should be forced to watch it.
  12. Now, I know there's a lengthy thread about the Kane boys' victimization and unjustified prosecution elsewhere - but is this the thread about recidivist-drunk unlicensed cabbies who operate illegally, lock you in the back of their cabs, overcharge on fares, and then steal your change? State revokes new license of Kane cabbie
  13. Exactly. And that's what they did - escaped from the back of a locked cab. Glad you admitted they were trapped, glad you've come around. Now all that's left is for you to admit that the recidivist-drunk cabbie driving illegally without a valid drivers license not only ripped-off the Kane boys on the taxi fare, but stole their change as well!!!!
  14. Kids these days - they don't know the meaning of polite... link
  15. Well so far, T.O.'s sat out one game but there's quite a difference between a guy (T.O.) who's a definite future HOFer, who showed his game-readiness in the HOF game, and whom the Bills signed to a 1-year $6M contract, vs. a guy (FatBoy Peters) who - coming off a sub-par year that, like the previous season, also ended with an injury - demanded and got a multi-year $60M deal with $23M guaranteed, then sprained his quad on the first day of camp running from his bed to breakfast, wouldn't you say? I'm not at all worried about T.O. - I'll bet the Eagles and their fans are sure scratching their heads over this Peters thing, though!
  16. Actually, that's still going on... Goodwill Ambassador Sarah Jessica Parker helps launch ‘Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF’ SJP is such a nice gal... link
  17. Yeah. Sure. Then you'd be calling the Kane boys vandals for breaking the crook's window, and demanding restitution! You just can't make up your mind, can you!
  18. Not only with the change, but the fare itself - using the farthest points I can think of from 'The Chip Strip' to Canisius College - Delaware & Chippewa to Main & Delavan (2.9 miles) - the fare should only be $10.80! That crook Radecki not only ripped-off the Kane boys on the fare itself, but stole their change!
  19. You can never know with these free-lance cabbies - that's why you have to be so careful. But you haven't answered - why did he pocket the boys change and refuse to give it to them, even after they clearly requested it? The only crime the Kanes committed was getting in the wrong cab with an unlicensed, recidivist-drunk driver.
  20. You are saying the illegal, recidivist-drunk cabbie had every right to lock these boys in, and then - after they paid their fare - to pocket their $1.20 change? Maybe you need to go back to school!
  21. Locked in by a strange cab driver - possibly drunk, certainly operating said cab w/out a valid drivers license - in a strange neighborhood? I, too, would 'have my guard up'. But you fail to address this drunken criminal's refusal to return the boys $1.20 ($20 CN) change that they clearly requested and which said illegal cab operator had no right to pocket - certainly a crime itself!
  22. One of my favourite rants, from the last decent show on network television (Boston Legal)... "Americans over 50 make up the fastest growing market . . . The baby boomers, now all over 50, earn two trillion in annual income . . . We’ve got more money. We spend more money. We watch more television. We go to more movies. We buy more CDs than young people do. And yet, we’re the focus of less than ten percent of the advertising. All the networks want to do is skew younger. Kids shows for kids! “What they’re doing intentionally excludes a class of society. That’s bigotry! We should be able to turn on our damn televisions and see something other than reality shows aimed at fourth graders, game shows aimed at those slightly smarter than fifth graders and scripted shows with dimwitted, sex-crazed twenty-somethings running around in suits or doctors’ scrubs! Old people, the ones with intelligence, don’t want to watch that crap! We’re fed up! The networks might think we’re dead, but we’re not. We’re very much alive, with working brains! Give us something to watch, damn it! “You know, judge, in addition to there being little for us to watch, most of it stinks,” he said. Sack then brandished his cell phone. “It’s this thing’s fault! A lot of people are on it while they’re watching. They no longer give television their undivided attention. They’re on the phone, or texting, or on the Internet. So the producers, they dumb down the plots, make them easier to keep up with while their viewers multi-task. Kids nowadays watch an average of three hours of television a day. That’s while being distracted. People over 55, we watch six hours a day. And we really watch. So, why aren’t they programming for us? Do these idiots a favor, judge. Send these network bozos a clue!” - Carl Sack (John Larroquette) - Crane, Poole, and Schmidt link
  23. Well, it does appear that things won't down pretty much as I surmised - cabbie illegally locks kids in, kids get upset, argument starts, cabbie demands fare, kids - now very agitated - shove him the money and - no longer in a 'tipping mood' - demand their change, recidivist-drunk-illegal-cabbie operating w/out a drivers license refuses to give the boys their change.... Tempers undid Kanes, cabbie By Gene Warner l Buffalo News Staff Reporter l August 20, 2009 Neither side would budge. The 62-year-old taxi driver figured he probably had two "jumpers" in the back seat, college-age youths he figured might bolt from his cab without paying as soon as the doors were unlocked. The two young men, age 20 and 21, felt trapped and seemed upset that the cabbie wouldn't unlock the doors. That's when the argument began, as paraphrased by two sources familiar with the Aug. 9 disturbance near Canisius College. "I'm not letting you out 'til you pay the fare," the cabbie told them. "Open the door," the youths yelled back. "Let us out." That's how sources say the argument began at about 5 a.m. Aug. 9, just before the physical attack that led to Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick T. Kane and his cousin being indicted Wednesday on misdemeanor and violation offenses -- but no felonies. By the time Kane, 20, and his cousin, James M. Kane, 21, either shoved or threw $15 at cabbie Jan Radecki, tempers already were frayed between the two cousins and the driver. Sources then said the verbal exchange went something like this: "Now unlock the doors and give us some change," one of the Kanes said. "The fare was $13.80," the cabbie replied. "We don't care. We want our change." You can read the rest yourself... link ...but it would appear, from the article cited, that - as I have maintained all along - the Kanes were locked in against their will, paid their fare, and - now upset at being illegally locked in the back of an unlicensed recividist-drunk's cab - were quite understandably not in a 'tipping mood' and, in fact, also wanted their $1.20 change ($20 CN), to which they were fully entitiled and which unlicensed and illegal recidivist drunk cabbie had absolutely no right to steal from them.
  24. At least we haven't bought that house yet. Things could be much worse - imagine if you had paid $60M for a house, then it immediately fell apart... "Andrews is one of four projected starting offensive linemen who won't be playing on Thursday night against the Colts, along with his brother Stacy Andrews, Todd Herremans, and Jason Peters." "Jason Peters is rehabbing a nagging quad injury, and won't play against the Colts." Best damned $60 million Ralph & Russ never spent!
