  1. Damned right! Every time I see those guys - or the Air Force Thunderbirds - I try to image a group of towelheads or Bolsheviks posing as elite pilots pilots trying the same maneuvers, and I just burst out laughing. If it weren't for the risk to themselves and the public safety, I'd love to see them try. GOD BLESS AMERICA, BABY!!!!
  2. Three problems with this post: 1) The Brinkworths are no longer prominent - they are practically non-entities; 2) You tried the same bullsh_t about a year ago; 3) If you really wanted "the Tim Grahams of this board" to investigate, why didn't you post it here... Ask Tim Graham ????
  3. Amazing, isn't it? They sneak up on you and you don't know it until you feel the concussion - then, you need to go change your shorts. The Warthog is one ugly aircraft. Turn your speakers up real loud, and enjoy the next 41 seconds... Take that, FREDDY!!!
  4. They really are, and that one week a year they spend practicing their maneuvers over the Bay Area is about the biggest gas I can remember from my 7 years there - I can't remember too many people complaining, other than the FREDDY SWEET-types that Chef Jim mentioned.
  5. Really? I did not know that - guess I gotta keep up witht the times. Then it's the F-22 that's stalled in Congress, yes? 'Cause I asked the guys to slow down so I could see the model number, you know - in case I wanted to buy one or something, but those bastards just strafed me and flew away laughin'!
  6. I was still living there the year they flew under the GG bridge - those guys are freaking nuts. The way they flew between the buildings in the Financial District was a disaster just waiting to happen. And residential neighborhoods weren't spared either. Imagine a leisurely stroll down Geary through The Richmond, when out of nowhere comes this screaming F-15 right over your head - they sneak up so quietly that you don't hear them until the roar nearly scares you out of your shoes! I lived on the crooked part of Lombard St, and they'd fly by so low that you'd swear they were buzzing your house. And, of course, the shock wave would set off every car alarm in Russian Hill. Fun stuff - and a great use of taxpayer $$$$ too! Anchors away!!!!
  7. Actually, EI2, moon-shining and drunkenness were major sources of comedy for Sheriff Taylor and Deputy Fife - don't tell me you don't remember Otis The Drunk... Link - 'On a Bender in Mayberry'
  8. Yeah - what's that all aboot? Bunch a guys standing around in a grassy park, scratching their balls.... Gimme some White Lightnin', some fast cars, and a chance to outrun the cops any day!!!
  9. What's the wooosshhhhing sound I hear? Oh...never mind - it's just something flying over Giaimo's head.
  10. So 'market price' for the league's worst LT is $60M????? Please send me some of what you're smokin'!!!!
  11. I never saw that before - hysterical
  12. No question Junior Johnson was. I always thought Lee Petty was too, but I'm probably not going to find anything to back that up. But yeah, those guys used to strip down the inside of the cars to make room for as much 'shine as they could fit, beef up the springs to hold the weight, soup-up the motors so they could outrun the cops, and there was the makings of a racing 'stock car' and the driving skill-set to go with it... link
  13. Actually, the 'vette had fuel-injection first, in '57 - on same 283 CI engine as the Bel Air. They're very rare, but every once-in-a-while I do see '57 and '58 'vettes with the Fuel-injected 283 CI engine on eBay for way under $250K - sometimes less than half of that. I never knew Chevy offered it on the Bel Air, or any car other than the 'vette, back in the '50s - that would be a rare find.
  14. I think they started something called 'NASCAR', no?
  15. A wonderful composer. Love the New World Symphony (or more correctly, Symphony #9 - "From the New World") - his orchestrations are full of lush color. But he's a bit too 'normal' for my tastes. Dvorak had a very conventional family life, and was well-adjusted with none of the strange ticks or neuroses that often stimulate the creative process. I have a feeling you'd enjoy the jazz etudes of Nikolai Kapustin... But I'm more inclined toward heavier textures and 'darker' sonorities, like Rachmaninov for instance... Sergei Rachmaninov, Piano Sonata, Opus 36 - Finale But enough of this digression - back to finding an appropriate anthem for our miserable joke of a head coach...
  16. Thanks - when Jauron's finally gone, we can all have one big sing-along... link
  17. I would select Frédéric Chopin's Piano Sonata #2 - 3rd Movement - "Marche Funèbre" As part of my ongoing efforts to enhance the cultural atmosphere of TSW, meet....
  18. Maybe 3rd string - but don't be too sure about that, either.
  19. Next season's the last on Edwards current contract, right? We'll see how 'Trenters' fares against those same bums soon enough.
  20. Now that's preposterous - only one of them could get a bye; the other 2, like us, would have to be wild cards.
  21. You're forgetting the AFC playoff game in which he'll also kick our ass - conceivably, he could actually end up beating us 7 times a year!
  22. You talkin' about this season's OTs, Bill, or last season's when 'Trenters' had uber-mensch Jason 'FatSlob' Peters protecting his blind-side, and Langston Walker on the other side? (IIRC, JP had a pretty bad O-line too, that you & everyone used to complain about back then as much as you do now, only in JP's case it an 'excuse' - whereas in Trentie's case, it's apparently a justification. )
  23. Don't sell yourself short - you seem to be able to 'out-stupid' just about everyone.
  24. You can't be serious - The Captain, Iron Sheik, Roddy Piper, Classy Freddie Blassie, Nikolai Volkoff...why that video is a veritable 'who's who' of WWF glitterati, and probably one of the best music videos ever created, period.
  25. No, everything on that site is 100% true - that's why everyone needs to accept it as iron-clad proof that FatBoy's the best OT that ever lived!
