  1. They would do better to put $200M into the ghetto that is South Los Angeles - then maybe folks might feel safer going there to watch a game.
  2. HAPPY NATAL ANNIVERSARY, RW!!!! Cheers
  3. Ya know, another coach who's failrly candid in press conferences in... But he's at his best when talking about the officials... Mike Leach gets fined (that's the incident that cost him - and caused him to give away - 400 hams)
  4. Apparently Colin Cowturd caught wind of this 'digital billboard thing' - likely from one of the many web sites that featured the story - and used it as another opportunity to further bash the City of Buffalo and its sports fans, saying on yesterday's show, "Wow, I didn't even know they had digital billboards in Buffalo...after all, they just got plumbing last week...wow...digital billboards...do they even know how to spell there?" Nice work, Cowturd. Freakin' idiot.
  5. Legendary crooner Al Martino has bit-the-dust, ceased-to-be, he is no more - he is an ex-crooner. ‘Godfather’ singer Al Martino dies at 82 Most of remember him as the Sinatra-type character, 'Johnny Fontane', in the move The Godfather... Johnny Fontane RIP, Al - you had but one heart.
  6. Wait a minute - that's the teacher in the picture???? I thought it was the student.
  7. I know of one head coach that would agree with that... Mike Leach
  8. I'm in favor of anything that gets Trent Edwards off the field, but Lynch would probably be better at QB - he played the position in H.S. and insists he can throw the ball 80 yards, which we know Trentit can't - Lynch attended Oakland Technical High School. In his 2003 season, Lynch amassed 1,722 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns in only 8 regular season games, and an additional 375 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in 2 post-season games. He was voted a PrepStar and SuperPrep All-American and was also voted as the San Francisco East Bay Player of the Year.[4] Lynch experimented with other positions in high school. He played defensive back and accumulated 20 interceptions his senior year. His coaches put him at defensive end for one game, and he forced 3 fumbles. Lynch also played some quarterback and wide receiver in high school. [5] Rivals.com had him ranked #1 in the nation as a defensive back, but he decided to stick to his passion at running back. Lynch ended his high school career as the second-ranked running back in the nation in 2004 behind Adrian Peterson by Rivals.com. In addition to being a star football player, Lynch was also an excellent track sprinter and played on Oakland Tech's basketball team alongside former Cal star and current Cleveland Cavaliers forward Leon Powe. link
  9. Hey, fifty bucks says the Shmales kid picks his nose....
  10. Water - you can't tell me that Trent Edwards doesn't look more pitiful at everything than Harrell, or ignore that Leach keeps churning out QBs that absolutely dominate the NCAA record books and say, out-of-hand, that they'll all fail in the NFL. Well, I take that back - you can say it, but you'd run the risk of being called an idiot by... Mike Leach: Eric Mangini's an Idiot "What’s interesting to me, a guy that really has not accomplished a great deal there at Cleveland - or the Jets for that matter - to publicly comment on A) someone he doesn’t even know and B) someone whose accomplishments speak for themselves and, within the specific field that Michael Crabtree’s in, Michael’s accomplishments speak louder than Mangini’s do. Crabtree as a receiver has been more successful than that guy has been as a coach. "My definition of a diva is someone who's loud and self-absorbed," Leach told reporters, "and Michael Crabtree is the furthest thing from loud that I've seen. I think [Mangini] took it upon himself to figure that in a few minutes he had all the expertise on the subject of Michael Crabtree that he needed, so we’ll see how those non-divas up there in Cleveland do this year." Now personally, I think Leach's outburst about Crabtree and Mangini probably affected Graham Harrell's chance to make the Browns' roster, plus they were already deep in talent at the QB spot, or so the idiot Mangini thought - but Mangini himself did not have anything bad to say about Graham Harrell... Harrell wasn't taken last weekend in the seven rounds of the NFL Draft, despite owning the NCAA record with 134 career touchdown passes and holding the second spot with 15,793 career yards. As a senior, he threw 45 touchdown passes, completed 71 percent of his passes and finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting. He said a few NFL teams offered him tryouts but his agent recommended the Browns. "I have to show that it's not just the system I played in college," he said. "That I can make throws, I can take snaps, I can take drops. And learn and mold into a system that they want to run here." Harrell's size (6-foot-2, 223 pounds) and arm strength (average) were negatives in the draft process. So was the Red Raiders' spread offense, which created the gaudy statistics. First-year Browns coach Eric Mangini said Harrell made a good first impression. "He's picked up the information easily, and he throws a very accurate ball," Mangini said. "I thought he did a nice job, not just with his throws but being able to run the offense." And on the specious argument of the sytem QB, says ML... "You bring up easily the most pitiful NFL cop-out of all!" he hollered. "And you can send that message to the whole NFL. Any coach who has ever said or uttered those words or considers that a concern, here's my message for them: How could you possibly look yourself in the mirror and consider yourself an NFL coach and not be able to teach a guy to run back three steps, five steps and seven steps? I can teach a child that! Any coach in the NFL who can't do that ought to be fired!" Leach continued: "I can do that ... I only need a three-hour window. I'll have a great clinic for all the NFL coaches who are so horrible that they can't teach a guy to take a snap under center and go backwards." Mike Leach on System QB Label: 'Most Pitiful NFL Cop-Out of All' Never mind that Philip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger seldom took a snap from under center during their collegiate careers, or that Kurt Warner and Tom Brady have been handsomely compensated to play in shotgun-friendly schemes. But my favourite Leach comment on the subject, just for all the TSW posters out there whose day jobs are NFL scouts and position coaches ... "If [our QB] is a product of any 'system', then he's not getting any of those touchdown passes and all those yards. That means our coaching staff is," Leach said. "That would also mean we could go down to 7-Eleven and get the clerk behind the counter and let him play quarterback." Honestly, all the ersatz QB 'geniuses' out there - most of whom were just drooling over Trent Edwards 12 months ago- need to spend more time listening to... Mike Leach Are the Bills not running a 'no-huddle' this season, and half the time from the shotgun? There's no freakin' way you'll ever convince me that Trent Edwards is better at that than... Graham Harrell Of course, HOH, that's JMO, and I mean no offense.
  11. That 3 more for Thurman...hey Thurm - are you Jason's mother or somethin'?
  12. That reminds me of a story... So this guy comes running into his house one night, screaming to his wife, "Hey honey, quick...pack your bags.... Wife says, "Why? What's goin' on?" Guy says, "Just hurry ...hurry up...hurry up and pack your bags..." Wife says, "Honey, tell me WTF is going on..." Guy shouts, "I just won $10million in the lottery....hurry...pack your bags..." Wife says, "Holy &*%#!, that's great honey, where we goin'? Guy says, "We? WE??? We're not going anywhere...pack your bags and get out!" Oy vey, I slay me.
  13. Come on, BeerSPhere, you know better - why'dja have to bring that crap to the big board? The idiot was too stupid to post it where anyone would see it, and it would have just died quietly while he made an ass of himself for days bumping it.
  14. That's a big 10-4, BMB, and Harrell's CFL contract is up after next season - plus Potts and Sheffield will be both be in the 2011 draft, and likely still available after round 5.
  15. I'm pretty sure what he meant was that we used the Philly pick we got for FatBoy to draft Eric Wood. You knew that's what he meant, too, no? But your last sentence - what language is that?
  16. I'm still reeling over (senior/graduate - 28 wins/39 starts over 3 years - 15,793 career yards - 134 career TDs*) But hey, they say Harrell's not an NFL QB - and we already got Trent Edwards, anyway *NCAA all-time record
  17. Funny, but I don't remember starting this thread....who was it that did? Before you spout-off any nonsense about my so-called "agenda" - why not go back and count how many, out of the nearly 300 posts in this thread that YOU started, belong to 'Thurman#1' and 'thebandit27'??? Then get back to me about who's got an "agenda".
  18. This is getting silly, SDS, and I certainly don't want to get in a 'flame war' - you made a comment that your son's in the Scouts, that the rule is 8, that your son got his first knife, but never uses it when he's not w/in sight of you or a den supervisor, and I asked if you're sure he hasn't carved his name on a park bench - which is a pretty innocent thing for an 8-year-old to do, and a pretty innocent question, I think. And yeah - I'm around plenty of youngsters, and know that some over-protective parents actually walk their kids on leashes, too. I feel sorry for those kids, and even more sorry the world's so screwed up that the parents feel that need.
  19. You don't honestly think the kid belongs in reform-school, for this, do you??? I'm still not sure you've actually looked at the thing... It’s a Fork, It’s a Spoon, It’s a ... Weapon? Link - NY Times Article
  20. Sorry...geez, I thought you said your son was 8. (And yeah, when I was 8, I was carving names on park benches - harmless stuff, really.)
  21. And you honestly think he hasn't carved his name - and maybe his favorite girl's name - on a park bench somewhere?
  22. How could I have forgotten Landry - and especially Coughlin's Giants humiliating Belicheat*, Tommy Bündchen*, and the Cheatriettes*???
  23. Well, I haven't called for for us to draft... Brandon Carter ...yet, but our O-line could use some help!
