  1. now what's all this about 'last post wins'????
  2. I understand your skepticism, Ramius, but this is happening. I just got back from the public meeting at the Albright Knox an hour ago, and the excitement is truly tangible - you can feel it. I wish you could see the videos and renderings - they are spectacular. Bass Pro is on-board, despite having halted every other construction project 'on their plate' - they are just waiting (at least, so they say) for State and Federal sign-off before signing their own 'legally binding contract'... Bass Pro affirms plan for store in Canal Side BTW, what has held them up for so long is the constant site-shifting, mostly prompted by Larry Quinn and Bob & Mindy Rich, in their haste to put something - anything - up quickly, despite the fact that there has been an agreed upon historical preservation plan in place since 1999. (Yes, Tim Tielman and my preservationist pals have been a pain-in-the-ass to any & every attempt to encroach on the historical Erie Canal remnants that still remain, completely in tact, and buried under just a few feet of gravel thrown on top to make parking lots when we won a coin toss for... ..and expanded The Aud. Now that we've managed to convince Larry, Bob, & Mindy that they'll wind up in court - and never win - if they try to take the prime centerpiece of the historical site to build a Benderson box for their Florida friends at Bass Pro, more creative minds have prevailed; the old canals will be re-dug', bringing the waterfront 'inland' (right in front of the old Aud, where the original Erie Canal once flowed) and giving Bass Pro their waterfront site. Here's the entire site - old Naval Museum still there, along with The Aud... Ariel of site Now here's the site today - with old Aud (gone) in the foreground, new Naval Museum in the background (top right), and Commercial Slip 're-dug' half-way to old-Aud-soon-to-be-Bass Pro... Aud demolition And here's the rendering of what WILL be in 5-10 years (HSBC lower right, new Bass Pro/old Aud top center).... Canal Side (existing HSBC offices and Buffalo News HQ on Washington St. are represented at far right above HSBC Arena) If you're really interested, here's a good site to follow the progress... Link - Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. Now we just need to get that Skyway down... Congressman Higgins is on board, but methinks too much graft has changed hands between the State bureaucrats in charge and the contractors that get $6M to re-paint the thing every few years - OTOH, now that NYS is about to run out of $$$$ in 6 months, who knows? 'If we can't afford to paint it, tear it down,' sounds about right for this State. The Seneca's are on board, and the casino's already there, my friend - one could argue that they took a huge gamble themselves and were 'first-in' before any of this other development... Ground broken for bigger casino in Buffalo Don't even get me started on this - the Seneca Buffalo Casino represents everything that's f'd up about doing business in The BuffTown - we beg them to build a casino, then refuse to sell them a site; when they get frustrated and say "Screw you, we'll build in Cheektowaga," we sue them to make them build in Buffalo; we win that lawsuit, and they design a beautiful facility to be built on a site that is currently nothing but ghetto (and never will be, without the Seneca project), and as soon as they break ground, we sue to make them stop :w00t: If it weren't for morons and mis-guided NIMBY obstructionists, THIS would already be standing, one block from the water, and 3 blocks from HSBC Arena... Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino - Site Plan Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino - Economic Benefits I could do a lengthy treatise on that issue as well, Ramius, As long as the idiots at the Public Bridge Authority keep trying to ram the wrong design down our throats just to guarantee their own continued bonding authority (i.e., their very existence) - and because they've already accepted graft for the design they've chosen without public input - and continue to invent specious arguments and outright lies about endangering migratory birds, etc., in their duplicitous attempt to justify their crimes - rather than doing the right thing and moving the entire project up-river, building a true signature design, and restoring Front Park - the crown jewel in Buffalo's Olmsted Park system - there'll be sensible obstructionists like myself trying to keep 'folks in charge' from f'ing up like they did with UB Amherst, and that football stadium way out in Orchard Park
  3. :w00t: :w00t: HAHAHAHAHAHA - ROTFF - LMFAO- AGAIN!!!!!!! Dude, you got the IQ of a brick. Not to say you're not the funniest thing on the 'net right now - but Letterman's about to start, so back to 'IGNORE' it is for ALPO-Pooch...
  4. Yeah Busby's in Santa Monica is about is close as there is, if you want the full-blown Bills-Backer's treatment. Otherwise, just find the best sports bar you can, and try not to miss out on... The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum
  5. :w00t: hahahahahaha - LMFAO again! You're one funny - and stupid - dude.
  6. I don't have it... I though you had it...
  7. LMFAO at how effin' dumb this post is - if McKelvin does the touchback, Buffalo has the ball - not New England*. You make a ridiculously stupid assumption that Buffalo would not have been able to protect the ball for two minutes and advance it for at least one first down, since - up to that point - we hadn't committed a single turnover and were averaging 4.7 yards per carry on the ground. At the very worst, Moorman's one of best punters in the league and would have put NE* back at least at their* own* 35 instead of our 20 - and they'd* have had no timeouts since they* would have burned them during our drive. You post some pretty stupid s__t - usually dripping with arrogance - but this is about the dumbest post you've ever put up here.
  8. I had the exact same impression watching the game - how the heck does he get a concussion from that? Then I watched the replay again yesterday and - again, same exact impression yours - looked like they continued to bend him backwards as they drove his head into the turf and landed on top of it, deliberately. (That said, Edwards is an injury-prone wuss, and we're probably gonna do better with Fitzpatrick.)
  9. I heard she was quite the placekicker, too, in her day...
  10. Then why do you keep responding? The imagination's a wonderful thing, pal, but doesn't alter fact - YOU made the statement about a "perverse crush". Seek help.
  11. Sorry, Magox, didn't mean to seem 'punchy' - personally I can't stand Switzer!
  12. The question was pretty straightforward, Magox... Now I could have answered Bobby Ross, or John Robinson, but someone certainly would have argued that they at least had a stint in the NFL as an assistant eraser-clapper or whatever, before returning to the college ranks. So I gave you Barry Switzer - and hey, he could have crashed and burned immediately but led his team to a Superbowl title instead, which should immediately quash the argument that a coach can't go directly from the college ranks to the NFL.
  13. Honestly, K-9, I don't think the guy remembers what he posted 2 seconds after he types it - the freakin' moron accused MarkyMann of making homosexual references moments after Thurmie himself suggested I have a "perverse crush" on him. Guy's obviously a sicko knob-gobbling queer - besides being an attention-starved narcissist, wishing other male posters had a crush on him Forget about a crayonz-alert; guy needs a therapist - crayonz is a highly intelligent poster with a bizarre but keen sense of humor, while Thurmie is just an attention-starved dolt. You could stop publicly stating your own bizarre fantasy that anyone has a crush on you - that would go a long way toward dissuading folks that you're a swashbuckling butt-pirate. (There - see how easy it is to respond to multiple posts without creating 20 of your own, idiot?)
  14. Just wait 'til you see my new digital billboard on the I-190
  15. You're a sick dude, pal - besides being a totally obvious freakin' queer.
  16. DUDE...I don't recall the question making any mention of your grandmother - but no, she could not have won the Superbowl with that team.
  17. Barry Switzer - won a Superbowl, I think.
  18. I do believe he and Parker are now demanding a 'stance' bonus every time he lines up at the LOS, and is holding out until the Eagles agree.
  19. I thought about that constantly right up to the New Orleans game, C.Biscuit - then, our offense couldn't score a TD against the Saints, which we followed up with consecutive losses to win-less teams, getting crushed in Miami and failing to score a TD once again against the hapless Browns. It was then that any delusions of this being a playoff team went out the window. But you're right - anything can happen. I did predict that they'd somehow find a face-saving way to get Edwards out of the line-up, be it some mysterious illness, H1N1, a 'phantom' hit (did anyone actually see Trentie get hit in the head?), or whatever and - lo & behold - looks like Trent's out for a while. Maybe Fitz will prove adequate, given the plethora of offensive weapons, for this team to make a run at post season play - or at least give us a modicum of respectability.
  20. Jason Peters injury not serious My question is, if his injury was not serious, then why didn't the $60Million A-hole get back in there and help out his team???
  21. The guy we want - even if it means hiring him as our OC and waiting for Jauron to step aside, is... Published: Sunday, October 18, 2009 The Daily Toreador LINCOLN, Neb. — Since coach Mike Leach’s arrival nine years ago, Texas Tech’s identity has been synonymous with one word: offense. That may change soon enough, with the new word being balance. It was the Red Raider defense that stole the show and bailed out Leach’s air-raid offense, racking up five sacks, a fumble returned for a touchdown and two turnovers in a 31-10 upset victory against then-No. 15 Nebraska Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Neb. “I thought whichever team our defense played for was gonna win the game,” Leach said. “We have black shirts here at Texas Tech too. Every one of our guys is wearing a black shirt underneath their pads there. I’m proud to say the blackshirts won this one.” Link - Tech’s defense steps up in win over Nebraska; Red Raiders jump to No. 21
