Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the 'anti-Mike Leach' team go for negative yards, and lead the league in safeties????

Von Ryan's T.O. Express, baby!!!!
-
Brown is down, and Ricky's scored a big bag o' Maui Wowie. A rowdy RWS Thanksgiving homecoming crowd showers the Dolphins with D-cells, and Fewell's outdoor practices pay off as Von Ryan's Bills Express outfox the cruel Major Sparano's dick-less Dolphins... Only time will tell, my good Magox, whether my opinion of JP's NFL future is 'incredibly dumb', or incredibly prescient!

Now yer talkin' - my favorite Riggo moment... Riggins, at a Washington Press Club Dinner in 1985, reportedly told Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, "Come on, Sandy baby, loosen up. You're too tight." He then passed out on the floor. Link - This Johnny's On The Spot

You've obviously never met Russ Grimm - he can be very offensive.

One of the best ever to strap on the pads and lace up the cleats... Russ Grimm - "I'll take da both o' ya" Thanks for the memories, SJBF - lived in DC during that great Senatorial era, and watched the 'skins/Dolphins Superbowl XVII at Champions (Wisconsin & M St.) My most lasting memory of that game - Dolphins' d-back Don McNeal bouncing of John Riggins, as Riggo drags him downfield for extra yardage... Riggo/Redskins 27 - Miami Douchebags 17 It'd be nice to have yet another HOFer at OBD.

I doubt it affects Stroud's status at all - just means that Klofpsteineger is no longer needed now that Nelson is back to full strength, and we could use some depth at DT. EDIT: I take it back - Stroud saw limited practice Friday, listed as 'questionable' for Sunday... Link - Bills Injury Report

So it's "incredibly dumb" to suggest that ESPN would prefer to downplay the very existence of the UFL as much as possible, not only because they are so incredibly invested in the NFL, but also to minimize even the slightest chance that true football 'junkies' will eschew ESPN's broadcasts of other college events, poker tournaments, golf, bowling, curling, children's gymnastics, skating, fishing and outdoorsman shows, etc., etc., to watch a UFL game on a competing network - if they knew it was on? Really???

Thanks for that link reiterating my statement that, prior to the draft, I thought they should have taken Oher instead of Maybin. -
You really don't think that ESPN is deliberately downplaying the upstart league because they're so heavily invested in the NFL, or that they'd potentially lose viewers of ESPN's coverage of more bona-fide, legitimate 'sporting activities' such as Texas Hold'em, or BassMaster? Really????

Jimmy Clausen to enter 2010 Draft
The Senator replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously, who looks more like an NFL QB, and who would you pick? Big Sam 'I-Won-The Heisman-Trophy-in-my-Sophomore-Year' Bradford??? or Wanker-Punk Jimmy 'I-started-a-bar-fight-and-got-my-ass-kicked' Clausen??? -
Not to mention Haslett's accusations of steroid abuse by the Bills, or that Kent Hull would probably beat the crap outa Haslett if the two ever ran into each other at OBD! "I played with a guy who came into the league, he came out of the USFL," Haslett said. "He was 270 (pounds), and he would never have made our team if he didn't get up to 300. The linemen got him together, got him a little supplemental pill for the week, and he got up to about 305 and made our team. And he's probably one of the all-time great players in Bills history." The words were barely out of Haslett's mouth before Hull called him, demanding answers. It would have been one thing if Haslett's information was accurate, but he wasn't even close. Hull's weight was never listed above 284, but during his career he often said that his weight was really closer to 265. --from Buffalo News archives--

Yeah, as you can see from my link, I had Oher going to us at #11 - and I liked him better than Eugene Monroe or Andre Smith. I had the Bills taking C Alex Mack with the #28 pick (he went to the Browns with the Eagles #21 pick that Brandon should have insisted on in the Peters trade), but we got a good one in Eric Wood - if his leg heals, he'll prove to be a fine pick. I also addressed Oher's supposed 'illiteracy' and accusations that he was 'dogging it' academically. For a guy with a learning disability, he scored better that twice as high as FatBoy Peters on the Wonderlic - which really makes you wonder if Peters has some learning disability of his own... link 1 link 2 Just pointing out to Faustus et al that, going into draft day, Oher was The Senator's pick. -
Yes, we just had a great experience with Stanford QBs, both on the field and as OC, and Pete Carroll and USC have shown with their last two 1st round quarterbacks that you can't go wrong with a Trojan QB. A guy to watch next season - seriously - is Texas Tech's Taylor Potts. Besides TT, was recruited by Michigan, Baylor, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M. Leach thinks Potts might be his best QB ever. At 6'5", kid's got good height, but could stand putting on a few pounds. Calls more running plays, and takes off with the ball himself more than your typical Leach QB. Got off to a rocky start this season, then got injured, but it'll be interesting to see how he does with Leach's aerial circus in his senior year - a year some say TT has a good shot at the Big 12 title, and the BCS. Remember the name.

??? ??? Actually Faustus, The Senator is a model of consistency. If you'd pay closer attention, you'd know that truth. Here's what I posted prior to last April's draft... link #1 - The Senator - 4/17/09 link #2 - The Senator - 4/8/09 -
Jimmy Clausen to enter 2010 Draft
The Senator replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Last rookie QB to come to camp with Clausen's 'attitude' got his leg broken by Troy Vincent. After watching Leinart and Sanchez flop (and yet no one talks about USC & Pete Carroll's inability to prep QBs for the NFL), and given the Bills own recent experience wtih SoCal surfer-types (RJ, JP), I'll cast my lot with the good solid kid from Oklahoma. -
I was looking for that footage for a long time and couldn't find it - thanks for that 'JP refresher', Nanker - reminds me just why we don't miss Jason Peters! If 400 lb. FatBoy JP (Jason Peters) doesn't totally whiff on blocking 200 lb. Jets' safety Abram Elam, then just stand around watching as his QB runs for his life, the Bills win that game. Once again, good riddance JP - Jason Peters, that is.

They had him at RT, as expected, when the season began, then moved to LT when Jared Gaither got hurt. No, of course he's not the top LT in the league - no one expected that his rookie year, but he's started every game for the Ravens. What's Maybin been up to? I rarely see the guy on Sundays -

I know hindsight is 20/20, PTR, and that there are plenty of rear-view mirror experts on TSW as well - but there were plenty of us clamoring for the Bills to pick Oher when they were 'on the clock' last April. -
Yes, Bill - JP's a serial, perpetual loser who just won a league championship! You're actually gonna use a baseball analogy to deride Losman??? You sure you wanna do that???
