  1. Because, believe or not, some posters have opined that Sam Bradford (6'4"/223) is too small.
  2. So Leach groomed Tim Couch into the nation's top QB, a Heisman finalist, and the #1 overall pick in the NFL draft, then forced him to start in his rookie season for an inexperienced expansion Browns team - behind an inexperienced O-line (throwing for 3000 yards in '02 and leading the expansion Browns to the playoffs), then tore up Couch's shoulder, broke Couch's leg, and finally forced Couch to ruin his career with steroids and HGH????? Please go back to pissing and moaning about the Miami loss with the rest of your Patriettes* queers.
  3. Actually, he's a bit bigger than Kelly was. Fact is that his stats at Louisville are pretty damned impressive - way more impressive than Fanning Fan Edwards' #'s at Stanford. Fact is that he was a Heisman candidate in 2006 and was projected by a least one draftnik as a potential #1 overall pick in the 2007 draft, and certainly a first round pick. So he forgoes the draft and returns to Louisville for his senior year. Puts up more great #'s (4000+ yards, 30 TDs/12 INTs, 65% completions, 152 rating in '07), but Louisville struggles that season and he drops in the draft, finally taken with the 56th overall pick. Link - College Football News 2008 NFL Draft - QB Rankings So you expect Green Bay's just going to leapfrog him in 2008 - as a rookie - ahead of Aaron Rodgers, whom they've been grooming as Brett Favre's replacement since 2005? Send some of what you're smoking this way, will ya? Don't know why Matt Flynn won the backup job over Brohm. Then again, I don't know why Edwards was anointed our QB without so much as at least some competition in training camp. Coaches sometimes screw up. But I do know that Green Bay did try to keep Brohm, is taking some heat for losing him, and he's now the highest paid QB on the Bills roster. All I said was that the guy looks like a prospect - probably the most interesting QB prospect on our roster - and that maybe Brandon & Co. actually stumbled across our future QB. Never said to start fitting him for a HOF blazer. Sheesh, can't a guy show a little optimism around here, without being ridiculed to death? Brohm's got great college #'s, a good football pedigree, and least he grew up and went to school in an area that experiences winter weather. I'd say he's no more questionable as a future NFL QB than Clausen, Tebow, McCoy, or Bradford, without burning a first round pick and paying $10-15M year after a lengthy negotiation/holdout. Plus, he looks more like a football player than a Wanker-Punk that even ND fans just wanna punch in the face... Link - Brian Brohm JMO. Now we can stop the nonsense about QBs in round one, and build the OL, DL, and LB corps.
  4. Are there actually any passing highlights of Jake Locker? Every hi-lite I see, he seems to be running! Guy's played what, 28 games on a losing team? Cumulative record 9W/19L. Thrown 36 TDs/26 INTs in those 28 games while getting sacked 55 times. Culmulative QB rating of 74.5/53% completion ratio. 5300 yards in 3 seasons. 192 yards/game. This guy's got the least impressive stats of any QB mentioned as a first-round possibility. Any idiot who thinks this guy's worth the risk of a wasted first-round pick probably also thinks FatBoy Jason Peters is going to the Pro Bowl and is worth the $60M the Eagles just wasted on the bum!
  5. "Jimmy's getting upset." "Jimmy says, 'Uh oh...' " "Jimmy's getting his ass kicked."
  6. Actually, those 'facts' are VERY debatable. Fitzpatrick was Cincy's starting QB most of last season and he's now been named the Bills starting QB, so saying he's a career backup when he's been a starter the last two seasons of his very short not-quite-yet-5-year career is inaccurate. I listed Brohm's CV in another thread, but here is is again... 6' 4" 228 lbs. (Jim Kelly-sized) Born 1985, Louisville, KY (24 years old, 'cold-weather tested') Named one of Top 5 H.S./Prep QBs in America 2003 Scholarship offers from Notre Dame, Tennessee, Alabama, Pittsburgh, Nebraska, Purdue, Illinois et al. Played 4 years at Louisville, started 3 years, 2006 Heisman Candidate Ranked Top Pick in 2007 Draft by Sporting News - projected first round pick in 2007 - chose to return & play his senior year 2007 Senior year - 308 completions/473 attempts; 4024 yards; 30 TDs/12 INTs; 152 QB rating; ranked in top 10 QBs Drafted #56 in 2008 by Green Bay (mid-2nd round) We may have gotten lucky here - this could actually be the proverbial 'once in a while even a blind squirrel finds an acorn' for Brandon & Co.
  7. Nah...trust me - Pete Carroll would have found a way to !@#$ it up.
  8. No, I'll be saying, "You know, we could still sign Graham Harrell from up there in Saskatchewan!" Seriously though, I think Brohm might be our guy... 6' 4" 228 lbs. (If not, we can always draft Taylor Potts in the 7th round in 2011 )
  9. Yeah, that's an opinion shared by some who know little or nothing about... Mike Leach
  10. Nah, don't think I'm on FatBoy's Christmas Card list either. But he might just 'ride the pine' into the playoffs. Two tough divisional games against NYG and Dallas, on the road no less, and I don't expect thew Broncos or 49ers to lay down for the Eagles either, but it's possible FatBoy might see the postseason from the bench.
  11. You must be a wuss. Here's the data, sir... South Bend Nov 09 (N.B. 11/7/09 - 70 degrees) South Bend Nov 08 (N.B. 11/3/08 - 73 degrees) South Bend Nov 07 Folks seem to just blindly make the claim that he's 'cold-weather tested' - erroneously thinking that, just because it gets wintry in South Bend, that Wanker-Punk has played in wintry weather - it just ain't so! If Fanning Fan Edwards EVER had gone 23-30 for 340 yards and 5 TDs against ANY COLLEGE OR PRO TEAM in ANY WEATHER, I'd pay The Dean's bar bill for a year. The fact that Wanker-Punk did in in sunny Palo Alto does not prove him 'cold-weather tested'. Nor do his 41 yards-0 TDs-2 INTs in a losing effort at USC in '08, 110 yards-0 TDs-2 INTs in a loss to Navy, or 226 yard-0 TDs-4 INTs in a losing effort at BC. Guy just does not seem to have won many games (15W/18L) either. So what? Edwards has lived in Buffalo longer than Clausen has in South Bend - does that make him a 'cold-weather QB'? Gimme a guy that grew up in this crap - a guy from East Brady, PA maybe - a guy from anyplace where he had a ball as a kid playing football in icy, sub-zero, blizzard-like weather every year - that's a 'cold-weather QB'. That picture of Wanker-Punk and his queer Speedo buddies should forever disqualify him from any consideration as the Bills next QB project.... 'Cold-Weather Tested'
  12. Well, 'the genius' has also resided at Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Iowa - but that's irrelevant since I'm not proposing he should be the Bills QB! Jimmy's November games in 2007 included a loss to Air Force at home on 11/10/07 - temp range 27/47, and a win against Duke on 11/17, before moving on to sunny Palo Alto to beat Stanford on 11/24. A quick check shows me that Wanker-Punk played Pittsburgh in South Bend on 11/1/08 - the temp range in South Bend was 43/59 - and Syracuse on 11/22/08 - temp range 11/28. He lost both games. So much for 'cold-weather tested - he failed. He also lost a night game at BC on 11/8/08 - temp was in the 60's that afternoon, but don't know what it was at game time. Presumably it was a but warmer in Annapolis when he beat Navy on 11/22/08, but even a return to sunny SoCal couldn't save him against USC on 11/29. I'll presume it was fairly warm in Honolulu on Christmas Eve, when he beat Hawaii. This past November had Jimmy playing (and losing) in South Bend on November 7th (lost to Navy - temp range 49/70) and November 22 (lost to Connecticut - temp range 32/56), before moving on to sunny Palo Alto to lose to Stanford on November 28th. And lets not forget Jimmy's biggest November loss this year... Wanker-Punk Starts Bar Fight: Gets His Ass Kicked (FYI, temp in South Bend that night was in the mid-30s ) Clausen, cold-weather tested???? Hardly.
  13. I keep reading 'Cold-weather tested' - what's the coldest weather Clausen ever played in? I know it doesn't get all that cold in South Bend until after late November, and the only games Jimmy played for ND after mid-Nov were in LA, Palo Alto, and Hawaii. Did Oaks Christian H.S. play some cold weather games in Westlake Village, CA?
  14. Agree on Brohm. All the highly touted QBs in this years draft have some question mark associated with them, be it cold-weather, injury-prone, not NFL-ready, whatever. Think you're right - the Bills had something 'up their sleeve' when they grabbed Brohm, but think the Bills have seen enough of Edwards and will keep him as #3 on the depth chart if they don't release him outright. Let's build both lines and shore up the LB corps first. We can always draft Taylor Potts in round 7 next season.
  15. I'd love a combination of Russ Grimm as HC and, as his offensive coordinator... Mike Leach
  16. Wanker-Punk Clausen played in the cold? Really? Where? A little quick research shows that the temperatures in South Bend ranged from 47 to 70 in early-mid November, and the only places Clausen ever played for ND after mid-Nov are USC (the LA Coliseum), Stanford (Palo Alto), and Hawaii. Did Oaks Christian H.S. in Westlake Village, CA play a lot of cold weather games? Clausen's never played a cold-weather game in his life.
  17. No soap, radio.
  18. This team needs to find their 'inner pirate' - and some offense. They need a coach who will come here and build something lasting and special, from the ground up. They need... Mike Leach
  19. Any time somebody leaves the field because of any kind of a head injury, alarm bells now ring in the NFL. Yesterday, Eagles left tackle Jason Peters left the game early in the second quarter with what were described as head and shoulder problems following a cut block gone bad. Peters did not return. Naturally, the postgame questions began about a concussion. Peters swears he does not have one. No headaches? "No, I'm fine," Peters said. "I'm fine. I was trying to go back in and they kept telling me to sit out, sit out . . . I landed on my shoulder wrong. It was on a cut block and I just landed on the turf wrong." As the next wave of reporters began asking Peters the same questions, he began to withdraw. By about the fourth wave, he wasn't even acknowledging that he had a head. link Funny..I've been insisting that he had no brain, ever since he scored a 6 on the Wonderlic. And despite the dogged insistence of the Jason Peters' Balls-Washers Club that the Eagles and their fans are just delighted with FatBoy, indeed there are rumblings of discontent within both the Eagles organization and fan base about him... Link - The Puzzling Peters (Non?)Controversy Link - Peters is taking a lot of heat for being soft and not playing through nicks in practice or games.
  20. Isn't that how he got the original hamstring 'tweak' in training camp - running from his dorm room to the breakfast table?
  21. Hey, guy's got himself a nice $60M gig as a bench-warmer - just like many of us predicted.
  22. Get a !@#$ing clue yourself, moron - yeah sure, we'd be better paying some lazy fat clown $60M to sit on the bench. Here's another clue, mensa boy - you don't like what I post, try using the 'ignore' feature.
  23. Yeah he did - this year, I guess he's taking the whole season off!
  24. I was watching the Miami-NE* game but tuned into the Eagles Falcons game during breaks wanting to see how our Pro Bowl LT was performing for the Eagles, but couldn't spot him on the field at all. Could he have already left for Hawaii?
