  1. Fine pickers, for sure, but their talents are pedestrian compared to Roy's.
  2. 1 - Glenn Gould, Goldberg Variations (J.S. Bach), 1980 Version 2 - Glenn Gould, Partitas (J.S. Bach) 3 - Rolling Stones, Some Girls 4 - Rolling Stones, Exile on Main Street 5 - Duke Ellington, Live at Newport
  3. I agree with your choice wholeheartedly, Buftex, but disagree that RB is not the real "Mister Telecaster" - I've never seen nor heard anyone else get such a range of effects out of every single component and square inch of that instrument, making it scream or cry at will... Link - Roy's Bluz
  4. Collins? or Buchanan? You make the call... link
  5. I believe he may have picked Spiller, and converted him to d-back.
  6. A matter of taste, I guess - though I prefer Screaming Eagle, I find that '2-buck Chuck' goes very well with ketchup. (See you Thursday???)
  7. Too late for your flank steak, but I would run out to Trader Joes on Montgomery and Kenwood and get yourself a bottle or a case of Charles Shaw ("2-buck Chuck" in the California stores, probably 3 bucks in Ohio) cabernet - it's as good (or better) than many wines selling in the $10-$15 range. JMO.

  14. Brown already has the #2 spot. The 3-way battle is for the #1 & #3 spots and, when the dust settles, the depth chart will look like this... Brian Brohm - Starting QB Bad Bad Levi Brown - Backup QB Ryan Fitzpatrick - Clipboard Carrier Trent Edwards - Marketing Intern - Synopsys / President - Dakota Fanning Fan Club/Los Gatos Chapter A great, safe Independence Day weekend to all!
  15. Damn!!!! I would love to commit but it's too close to the NE* game, to which I'm already committed. Will let you know if that changes. Damn. And I'm the guy for the eating challenge too - I once put down a 40-oz. porterhouse, with all the trimmings, at Morton's/Chicago on Fat Tueday - then had a big cheesecake desert, then went 'hunting' at Excalibur. Damn.
  16. Ooops - my bad. Guess maybe I should have read the article before spouting off.... NAH!!!!! They're* still a bunch of assclowns out there in BeanTown*, and Smerlas is near the top of the assclown list. Too bad they nominated that a-hole - Slaughter has one of the lowest ratings of all 435 U.S. Representatives, and the Republicans could had probably taken that seat had they nominated someone of substance. Anyway, the carpetbagger label is probably appropriate - as it was with uber-carpetbagger/opportunist Hillary Clinton (from Illinois and Arkansas), and as it is with Ms. Slaughter herself (from Kentucky) - since, unlike Jack French Kemp, Smerlas never put down roots here and has had nothing to do with the area (other than calling in to a radio show to rag on the Bills once a week) since his playing days ended.
  17. Belated birthday wishes to my fellow Cornellian and to KzooMike, from... The Original American Kazoo Company HAPPY NATAL ANNIVERSARIES!!!!! Cheers (Just FYI, SATM, back in 'my day' - when the earth was still coolin' - those 3 beers woulda cost me exactly 30 cents on Dimeys nite, down at 'The Slugout' on The Commons!) 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! IN CHAN WE TRUST!!!!!
  18. Well said. Fair enough. (In Jimmy's defense, he was obviously in awe of his stage-mates, as evidenced by the difficulty with his guitar strap.) Anyway, I only post blues on Thursdays - maybe a 'Rockin' Fridays' thread is in order? Enjoy some... Mister Telecaster
  19. Like Muddy Waters shouted, last time I saw him at Shea's with Johnny Winter and James Cotton... "Let's keep this band steady, now!!!!!" Don't matter Dean, whether or not Jiimmy belongs on that stage - if I'm invited to play with 3 legends, I'm f'in there baby...suckiness and all. All that aside, EC's the only one capable of any real 'shreddin' up there, and he's just relaxin' & jammin' to a great ol' blues standard with the rest of 'em. I know you know good blues - link me somthin', brother....after all... How Blue Can You Get?
  20. Fanning Fan Edwards, Marketing Intern at Synopsys
  21. Never content to let The Dean have the last word on anything, thought I'd resurrect Chef Jim's great Thursday Blues thread (and, Deano, keep it 'bluesy)'...
  22. Fixed (again). What do I think? I think you're on the wrong site...this is Two Bills Drive - your opinions belong on Two Bills Drivel... 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! IN CHAN WE TRUST!!!!!
  23. Fixed. (Usually I have to read the back of a cereal box for such profound musings.) Such original thought...(I hate our draft picks...blah blah blah...our front office is stupid...blah blah blah...I like Robert Frost...blah blah blah...I can even quote a line from the one poem I've read...blah blah blah...the Bills will fail miserably...blah blah blah...I'm a diehard Bills fan...blah blah blah...the Bills suck...etc., etc., etc.). In the future, please refrain from trying to seem profound (you're not) or, better yet, from speaking entirely... 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! IN CHAN WE TRUST!!!!!
  24. Just saw an interview with Brown on WKBW-TV - nice kid, handles himself well with the media - FWIW, they say he's "all but assured" a spot on the roster. As TIPS has stated many times now, on September 12th the pecking order will be... Brian Brohm - Starting QB Bad Bad Levi Brown - #2 Ryan Fitzpatrick - Clipboard/#3 Trent Edwards - Marketing Intern at Synopsys 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! IN CHAN WE TRUST!!!!!
