  1. Actually, PTR, it wasn't all that bad - save for the unpaved, crater-filled parking lots. In fact, the same firm (HNTB) designed both RWS (nee Rich) and Foxboro (nee Schaefer) stadia - the difference being that Schaefer was a bare-bones structure that seemed very much like a 65% completed Rich Stadium... "In traditional Billy Sullivan fashion, the owner built the stadium at a bare minimum of cost, skimping and cutting corners in every phase of design. Sullivan was reportedly irate when the initial estimate of $6.9 million was overrun by $200,000 (or just less than the cost of a bottled water at Yankee Stadium)." Link - Schaefer Stadium and The Great Flush (Older fans will recall a similar 'flushing' problem in the early days of Rich Stadium - not with overflowing toilets and troughs, but with the water pressure practically disappearing in the town of OP at half-time )
  2. Good advice for all. Personally, I have never been less stressed about anything than I am about the Schobel situation, Same goes for Spiller, and most Bills personnel situations (Fatboy Peters being the possible lone exception). That's what they pay Buddy Nix for, so let him stress.
  3. Seems like Seifert's been living at that airport longer than Victor Navorski lived at JFK
  4. ...who promptly signed with the fledgling USFL's Houston Gamblers. The whole story is old news, but a good reminder of how inept the Bills front office has been at various times in the past - not just over the past 10 years.
  5. HAPPY NATAL ANNIVERSARIES!!! Cheers
  6. As an Ivy league alum myself, I can attest unequivocally that, as always, you have no idea WTF you're talking about.
  7. Not the point I was making. Not even close. I was simply pointing out (and proving thru live events video) to someone who said that Bush is an incompetent, inarticulate boob and 'the worst president in our lifetimes', that Obama is most certainly doing an excellent job of staking his own claim to both of those descriptives. (And to that same poster - who also stated that, in Palin, the GOP found someone as stupid as Bush - that Joe Biden is easily stupider than just about anyone in national politics at this current time. )
  8. I suppose the same could be said for all the Kennedy boys and their Harvard degrees - particularly Ted's, after being thrown out for paying a classmate to take a Spanish exam for him (after which he enlisted in the Army, mistakenly signing on for a four-year stint in Korea - a mistake which 'daddy' quickly fixed with a few phone calls, getting TK a cushy 2-year assignment in Paris, where the champagne and French whores were more suited to Ted's abilities and proclivities than combat duty in Korea, before strong-arming Harvard into letting wayward Teddy back in.) Wow. As 'The Great and Mighty Carnac' might have uttered, "Wrong again, bison breath!" One need look no further, in modern times, than the masterful eloquence of Barry Obama... Link - Obama without his teleprompter (A gaff which B.O. referred to as his 'numeracy problem' ) In the extremely unlike event that Barry's around for 8 years, as 'W' was, just imagine how many more of these gems we can look forward to! Your most glaring oversight - of course - is that our lifetimes are not over, nor is Obama's presidency. (Although after nationalizing the healthcare, financial, and automotive industries, leaving our grandchildren's grandchildren to pay down his $1.5 trillion budget deficits, and ineptly presiding over the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history, we can be fairly certain he won't get a second term.) Just how dumb is Barack Obama? Alfred E. Newman dumb, says columnist David Limbaugh, who labeled him "President Alfred E. Obama" because of his blithe disregard of the basics of fiscal responsibility. Alfred E. Newman is the Mad magazine mascot, whose answer to every problem is his signature statement: "What, me worry?" How dumb? How-many-Obamas-does-it-take-to-screw-in-a-light-bulb dumb. And in the answer lies the answer, the key to his pole position in the race to last: It takes 242. One to hold the light bulb, four to turn the ladder, eighteen to assess conformity to OSHA workplace requirements, four to assess the environmental impact of the burnt-out bulb disposal, twelve to participate in a task force to evaluate green energy solutions for a replacement bulb, eight to script his actions, four to script instructions and work the teleprompter, 23 to work with the justice department to sue the light bulb manufacturer...you get the picture. And, à la Buchanan, Obama never does get that light bulb changed. Link - The Dumbest President...EVER! Bush, the worst president in our lifetimes? Well we're all entitled to our own opinions, but - your biased, jaded, and uninformed opinion aside - many would opine that he's not even the worst president in the last decade.
  9. HAPPY NATAL ANNIVERSARIES TO ALL!!!! Cheers
  10. F__K THAT S__T!!! PABST BLUE RIBBON!!!! (nsfw)
  11. Sucks big time - not that their parametric searches ever turned up decent results (even if you typed a headline verbatim from the current issue), but it seems to be even worse now. Plus, the 'new look' is hideous.
  12. Quod Erat Demonstrandum (Then they must be stupid themselves...) Clearly, you know little about American history or the Presidency, or you would never utter such nonsense. While 'W' may not have been 'Mensa material', he was far from "the least intelligent president we've had" - that dubious distinction probably belongs to Warren Harding or possibly Andrew Johnson, though James Buchanan and Lyndon Johnson are right up there too... Link - Who was the stupidest U.S. president? Er, um, yeah...as opposed to the erudite and intellectual Joe Biden, who apparently does not know what year the Great Crash of 1929 occurred, that FDR gave his 'Fireside Chats' not on television - which was in its experimental infancy at the time - but on radio, or that - if you were lucky enough to own one of the 2 or 3 experimental television sets in existence at that time - the President you would have seen on TV would have been Herbert Hoover, not FDR!!!
  13. Couple of things previously mentioned - w/in the Salt City itself... Dinosaur Barbecue - classic Syracuse joint, great food, good music, motorcycle friendly Armory Square - Syracuse version of trendy neighborhood/Rouse development (lots of restaurants/bars/shops/etc.) Nearby... Finger Lakes Wine Trails - Cayuga is closest, Seneca is also well within range and has more wineries (I think) - Napa/Sonoma is ain't, but NYS is turning out some very nice wines these days. The Finger Lakes themselves are quite scenic, and there are many parks showcasing the region's beautiful gorges, waterfalls, etc. Ithaca, NY (about an hour away and home to Cornell University) was an 'early Hollywood', being very close to Rochester (home of Eastman Kodak, an early pioneer of motion picture technology) - some of the early Tarzan movies and Little Rascals short films were made there. And if you like NASCAR, depending on when your trip is scheduled, you can combine the Seneca wine trail with... Watkins Glen - the big NASCAR event on the Watkins Glen road course is August 8th
  14. They do? Then they must be stupid themselves - the man is the only President ever to have degrees from both Harvard and Yale (real degrees, not honorary doctorates).
  15. So when will she be filing suit against the National Park Service?
  16. Most likely of a massive coronary, after the Bills go... 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!! "A parachute not opening...that's the way to die...getting caught in the gears of a combine...having your nuts bit off by a Laplander...that's the way I wanna go..." - Frank Dreven
  17. I doubt that any Bills fan will ever regret passing on Wanker-Punk Clausen, but I do agree that he would likely be a better Pro Bowler than he will a Pro QB.
  18. And who would want such a dump? Have you ever even visited San Diego? Maybe your folks took you to the San Diego Zoo last year - or SeaWorld - but clearly you have no idea... What $400K gets you in San Diego
  19. Just the ones that don't mention... Thanks! Sometimes, the overabundance of pessimism on the board needs countermanding - folks tend to forget that teams do come back 'from the depths'...go from 'worst-to-first', from... Cellar to Penthouse GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  20. HAPPY NATAL ANNIVERSARY!!!! Cheers
  21. How dare you post something positive about our team???!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!!
  22. It sure does...unfortunately, I don't see the Packers making the same mistake twice, and leaving Graham Harrell out there for the Bills to steal off their practice squad... 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!!
  23. I still think the QB depth chart's gonna look something like this... Brian Brohm - starting QB Bad Bad Levi Brown - backup Ryan Fitzpatrick - clipboard Trent Edwards - MarComm Asst. - Synopsys / President - Dakota Fanning Fan Club, Los Gatos Chapter (Although Fitz & Brown could swap places for Brown's rookie season, with Levi moving up the depth chart next year.)
  24. Amen, brother... 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!!
