  1. I knew about Cleveland, but Pittsburgh is new to me. I see ‘Airborne Eddie’ on occasion in my nostalgic wanderings thru Polonia, Mass at Corpus Christi, and - of course - for a Polish Platter at the R&L Lounge. Lottie loves him! ( It took me forever to find this old video - Lottie and Eddie....) .
  2. Amazingly, seven years in CA got me nothing but a warning for speeding on the I-5. OTOH, last time I visited FLA for five days ended with me in Flager Hospital, a titanium plate and eight screws in my wrist. No one can tell me how it happened. I love the Gulf Coast, but I’m afraid to go back...some strange things happen down there. .
  3. You’re kidding. You must be kidding. In this day and age of cable, satellite, and internet, you have only ever seen one television series? .
  4. OK, this had gone viral... Easter Bunny charges to defend a woman involved in a bar altercation... (BTW, seems to me she was already kicking the guy’s ass) I luv it, but bunny was throwing rabbit punches! .
  5. Honestly, why would I waste my life on such a thing, when I can watch the ponies run on TVG? (And bet on them over the ‘net!) .
  6. Never have, never will. (BTW, I gave tribute to you in the Lyrical Response thread.) .
  7. I knew nothing of this when months ago I started calling for the Bills to take Jonah Williams, but I feel even more strongly about him after reading this. He’s ready to start at LT. Move Dawson inside. JMO .
  8. From Heidruns teats the endless stream of mead Pour me another and you’ll be my brother! When you are thirsty and hungry for fight There’s no need to worry There’s mead left and right We’re an army so wasted No mead is too strong In the Hall of the Fallen Hear our song! .
  9. Certainly the USA always. If the USA is eliminated, depends who’s left. I’ll root for Canada and Poland, Spain and Italy, Mexico, Brazil, and others too, so long as they’re not playing against us. (Hardly ever for France! ?) I guess it all depends on who’s playing who. .
  10. Good info - thanks. I don’t think WNY baseball fans could support a major league team with today’s ticket prices multiplied by 81 home games. (We barely support the Bisons.) Glad the Giants thing didn’t happen. They love ‘em out in the Bay area, and I enjoyed going when I lived there. (Plus, everyone would be referring to the NY ‘Baseball’ Giants and the NY ‘Football’ Giants) .
  11. Wasn’t the reason Pilot Field so large because we thought Bob Rich Jr. was going to buy the Expos and move ‘em here? The place was built so it could be expanded to 40,000 in one off-season. As I recall, Rich balked at the $85M price tag, and things fell apart. Imagine if you could buy an MLB team for $85M today!!! .
  12. If AOC would just shut up, that would drastically reduce carbon dioxide emissions!
  13. That would be a great start! https://www.quora.com/Do-human-farts-contribute-to-global-warming .
  14. Fixed it for you. .
  15. No, I meant Jonah, but also said I recognized the need for a DT, so my bad - I guess my meaning was a bit unclear. If Quinnen Williams is there at #9, I think we don’t walk to the podium, we run! .
  16. I’ve been a proponent of Williams at #9 for quite a while, but I also recognize the need for a DT. Not so high on Metcalf at #9, but I know many others love him. Have been hearing Williams to the Bills a lot recently. .
  17. I hope not, but anything is possible. .
  18. I plan to recycle all my Dyngus Day Solo Cups! ? .
  19. Do something good for the planet today. .
  20. Erin go Bragh-less!!!! ? .
  21. And we all appreciate that! His post was so stupid that I quickly checked his profile and instantly made him as a childish troll posting from his mother’s basement. I was just gonna take him to school for a little bit but you’re right, better to ignore - and put him on ignore. .
  22. Oh believe me, i didn’t believe the knucklehead for a second. .
  23. Seems like the very definition of insanity to me. .
  24. Fr. Czeslaw Krysa (St. Casimir’s) wrote an article about the South Bend celebration. (Try as I might, I can’t find the link.) Long ago, when was doing some post-grad work at Notre Dame, some students invited him to a big celebration - “Dyngus Day” they called it. Of course Fr. Krysa knew all about Dyngus Day, but he was puzzled because it was June! Apparently, they weren’t celebrating on Easter Monday. Anyway, don’t know when the tradition started in Buffalo. My dad came here from Krakow in 1950 and he tells me it was no big deal back then. Some years later it was revived by a guy, Ted Mikol, President/Founder of the Chopin Singing Society. It was mainly celebrated in the Polish communities around Buffalo until maybe a dozen or more years ago when a couple of guys, Eddie Dobosiewicz and Marty Biniasz, got together and organized the huge celebration and parade that we have today, and made Buffalo ‘The Dyngus Day Capital of the World’. It was Eddie that went on CNN to take on Anderson Cooper for mocking our tradition. Anyway, that’s about the extent of what I know about Dyngus Day in Buffalo. (BTW, that’s Lenny Gomulka and the Chicago Push in that polka video!) .
