  1. This one's my upset of the week... On the Bills first passing play from scrimmage, Trent Edwards smashes throwing hand into own knee on his follow thru and goes on IR for remainder of season. Brian Brohm, being the Bills backup QB most familiar with Green Bay's defense, is called upon to take over and leads Buffalo to a stunning upset at Lambeau... Buffalo 24 Packers 13 GO BILLSSS!!!! 18 and 1 baby!!!!!
  2. Edwards can't - or won't - pass downfield, and opposing defenses know it and don't even bother trying to defend against it. We've got 3 great RBs and a power FB in McIntyre - I say let's go wishbone.
  3. They had 3 'hi-lites' of Edwards? I didn't think there were that many. Yes, Bill, he was god-awful - it can't be long before sites like this start popping up about Trent.. link (BTW -In his post-game presser, Chan had nothing but praise for Bell.)
  4. We all are. If you need a good laugh, just watch some film of Trent Edwards. If you need a real knee-slapping, belly-aching guffaw, just keep reminding yourself - he's our starting quarterback.
  5. Well At least I'm glad to hear that, after 1 game and 11 carries, CJ Spiller is not a bust. Yeah, Spiller wasn't breaking anything open and when Gailey made the adjustment mid-2nd quarter and put Lynch & Jackson in (imagine that - a head coach actually making adjustments on-the-fly), our running game got more effective. But CJ will get better as he gets more touches, more experience, and if the o-line ever improves.
  6. I think your $400,000 house in San Diego is safe... link (Sorry, Hossage.)
  7. I dunno - Abe looks more mobile, and can take a hit! And 2 years ago, we could have had him (if Russ had signed him before the Jets did.) Even at 40 (41 in a few weeks), Favre is better than what we got.
  8. To paraphrase Bob Lobel... "Why can't the Bills get players like that?"
  9. OK, let's stop there for a moment - I don't hate Trent Edwards. 'Hate' is a very strong word, and I don't hate anyone (with the possible exception of the IRS). I do, however, hate that Trent Edwards is the starting QB on the team I love - that's certainly true. Didn't see the Cardinals/Rams game - was hoping Bradford would play well in his debut - but, if Anderson was so innacurate, why don't they just start grooming Skelton? Seriously...Derek Anderson???? See that's the thing - I don't think they would. Good QBs have that almost 'magical' way of getting themselves out of trouble. And when we got pinned on our 1-yard line at the end, I knew it was over. Other QBs have that quality and that ability to inspire confidence that a 99-yard game winning drive in less than 2-minute is not only possible, but then they actually DO it. That Edwards wouldn't throw one downfield pass, not make one attempt to generate some 'fire' and some hope in the offense at that point, in inexcusable. (JMO, but if you look at the rest of the board tonite, I ain't the 'Lone Ranger' here.) Absolutley agree on Parrish (though, in hindsight, I wish he would've fielded that one that pinned us back on our 1-yard line). Also thought the exact same thing about Gailey's decision to take the intentional safety (and try to force someone other than the Dolphins return man to field the kick) - Jauron never would have thought of that. Anyway, on to Green Bay I guess...and then in two weeks I have to sit in Gillette Stadium and endure who-knows-what...oh well... GO BILLSSS!!!!
  10. Freakin' Longhorns...who even knew they could read???
  11. No question that run blocking and pass protection both sucked today. (Although I watched Chan's post-game presser, he said he was really pleased with Demetrius Bell today.) I'd submit, though, that folks also complained about the o-line last season - yet, when Fewell benched TE and put Fitz in behind the same o-line, Fitzpatrick seemed more effective. JMO. I'm hugely in favor of beefing up the o-line. (For the life of me I can't figure why we only have one offensive lineman on our practice squad - we should probably have four.) Cornell Green has to go, too - besides being just awful, there's the penalty thing. And, though right now we may be in the running to win the Ryan Mallett pool, I'm a big proponent of drafting Gabe Carimi
  12. Oh I don't know, dog, but judging from about 30 other threads and several hundred other posters, I'd say most people weren't entirely pleased.
  13. Reported for lunacy. (You seem to be on a little crusade of your own, there, partner! )
  14. Oooooooooo...... Seriously, like I give a crap. Shouldn't you be more worried about facing Taylor Potts this Saturday? Meanwhile, for your entertainment... How do you get an UT graduate off your porch? Pay him for the pizza What does an UT graduate say to an OU grad? Welcome to McDonalds, can I take your order? How do you keep an UT student busy for a month? Give him a package of M & M's and tell him to alphabetize them.
  15. First thing you need to do, Chan, is load up on Snickers bars - and pass them out liberally... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rauK4fBjkI I'll leave the post-mortem analysis to better, more knowledgable football minds, but it' painfully obvious that Trent's days are numbered - there can be no doubt after today. For a 3rd-year starter, dude was totally inept. The Dolphins might very well be the easiest opponent on our schedule and, even though the Bills sucked out loud, this game was winnable right until the last two minutes - only not with Trent Edwards at QB. I never bought into Gailey's vile canard that the QB position was 'wide open', and now Chan's gonna have to eat a little crow and make the necessary change. The good news is that there are 2 other QBs on our roster that are better than Edwards on game day and, hey Buddy...hey Chan...there's a guy named Graham Harrell on Green Bay's practice squad. (Not too impressed with the some of the play calling either - you might want to consider a real offensive coordinator like, say, Mike Leach )
  16. Are you basing this on conversations you've had with Andrew Luck about his future, or simply reiterating something you read somewhere that someone wrote to fill space and meet a deadline? No way Luck comes out in 2011 because Luck goes to Stanford and is, therefore, by definition, intelligent enough to know he's nowhere near 'NFL ready'. BTW... Inaccuracy mars Andrew Luck in blowout win Start thinkin' o-line in next year's draft. The Bills will not win the Ryan Mallett pool and, after him, there ain't a QB worth wasting a round one pick. (There will be QBs in the later rounds like Taylor Potts - (thru 2 games) 652 yds, 7 TDs, 0 INTS, 65% completions, 155 rating - we'll get a look at him on national TV this Saturday nite against #5 Texas.)
  17. Luck has shown good skills at Stanford, but he's a red-shirt sophomore in his junior year, with only 10 games under his belt - which makes any statement that he's 'the most NFL-ready' somewhat suspect. (Buddy Nix's criteria for 'draftable' QBs are 3 years/30 games/lots of big-game experience - Luck meets none of those, and I doubt he'll even declare for the 2011 draft.) Here's your 2011 first-round pick... Gabe Carimi
  18. I usually just request another clothes pin for my aorta.
  19. Gerald M. 'Jerry' Darlak, of the Grammy-Award winning 'Jerry Darlak and the Buffalo Touch' passed away on Wednesday, September 8th, after a long battle with throat cancer. Most of you will know Jerry from his raucous appearances at places such at Artie's Tavern, the R&L Lounge, Adam Mickiewicz Library, and Buffalo's annual Dyngus Day celebration - or from his illustrious recording career and such hits as Na Zdrowie from his hit album Touch This Jerry's death was not carried in the newspapers or media - I only learned of the sad news today while attending the Polka Mass at St. Adalbert's, where he had been scheduled to play. Apparently Jerry wanted no wake or funeral, and donated his body to UB's medical school. link Dyngus Day will never be the same. Ku pamięci mądrego i wspaniałego człowieka. Spoczywaj w spokoju, Jerry. Dziękuje.
  20. Freakin' Swampscott...freakin' Yale...freakin' Jauron... “You know, I’ve never understood how you train these young men to finish a game, play hard all the way to the end, through four quarters and then you set the example of letting up and stopping in the name of mercy. A bunch of whiners will call it sportsmanship and say ‘running up the score’ is bad for the game. To me it’s like golf: Just because you're 15-under do you just stop trying to make birdies so the score at the end of the tournament will be closer and the other golfers will feel all warm and fuzzy?” - Mike Leach Levy never let up. Marv was from the South Side of Chicago. Marv had NO problems blowing out an opponent.
  21. Now now...civility please... GO BILLSSS!!!!
  22. (in my best LSI voice...) Trent Edwards is good. We need him to play well.
  23. Thanks, man - hope all is well, and that the blast didn't knock out the CATV network out there! Nothin' but diet ginger ale so far, Deano, tho I may have a little nip shortly to celebrate and enhance the broadcast debut of... Mike Leach
  24. Yes, and I was with TW - he offered me his future ex-wife's seat, which I gladly accepted. Perhaps that is why she's now his ex-wife! BTW - tonite's the beginning of a new era in college football broadcasting, one that's sure to be entertaining... College Football: Top 10 Things Mike Leach Might Say on CBS
  25. Abssolutely. Every single game is crucial, but I'd also have to agree with the OP - winning the opener is absolutely critical to going... 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!!
