Actually, I almost left after a 'nasty-gram' from Simon 'cause some dickwad reported that I was on an anti-Edwards 'crusade' (Check the board after Sunday's loss to Miami and tell me who ISN'T on an anti-Edwards crusade!) My advice - grow a thicker skin and 'live & let live'. It's only a message board. (just my 2 shekels) GO BILLSSS!!!!
-
Wow - love it! I predicted Bills 24-Pack 13 in a different thread, but I suppose you could be right - IF our D can keep Edwards off the field. (We already know they can accomplish what he CAN'T do - score points ) GO BILLSSS!!! 18 and 1 baby!!!!

Interesting Rumor on BB.com Message Board
The Senator replied to coastalpika's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Irregardless of how true the rumour is (or the fact that there's no such word as 'irregardless'), it's not going to happen before Sunday. I can't imagine any way the Bills would send one of their key offensive players, who's 100% familiar with their entire playbook, to a team they're about to play in 4 days. -
2 reasons: 1) Edwards saw very limited action in the pre-season (and I wasn't overly impressed with what little we saw of him then, either); 2) No one 'game plans' for their opponents during the pre-season (opposing coaches are basically evaluating players to get down to 53) so the Miami game was the first time we saw Edwards play against a D that prepared specifically for him and the Bills. I've seen enough of Trent. Bring on Brohm - guy is probably better equipped to play against GB's D anyway.

The Man Who Stopped Both Suh And McCoy

He's sporting a crewcut these days. My thoughts too - but still, WTF???? Who would put something like that in Bentley's wiki profile? A disgruntled ex, or co-worker? (I mean, it's rare that you see something on Wikipedia like, " 'So-and-so' came back the following season, but was released after it was discovered he molests collies...") Figures. Actually, it makes some sense - he's getting closer to Leach, who now lives in Key West and is probably a good fit for OC at Tampa Bay (they already got a pirate ship there at Raymand James Stadium - link ) Guess if Buddy wants him he'll have to raid the Bucs practice squad. Hey Buddy - how 'bout hiring someone to watch the transaction wire? (Just found out the Bucs also hired AVP as QBs coach - Bucs Beat) I don't know why folks keep thinking that - yeah, we need help at tackle more urgently than at guard, but we need more depth everywhere on the o-line... Bills Depth Chart In 2008, when Harrell threw for 5100 yards and 45 TDs, the Texas Tech o-line gave up just 14 sacks in 626 passing attempts. That's one sack every 44 attempts! Hard to make an argument that the Bills don't need o-linemen like that. -
Bills fans aren't the only ones freaking after 1 loss

I'm sayin'! Seriously!!! That chick is a riot! 'Jennifer Floyd Engel is a Baby Mama now, but the Little Ball of Hate still comes out to play when necessary. (And LBOH is a sanctioned nickname given by Star-Telecolleague Randy Galloway, not a life philosophy just fyi.) Engel has covered Cowboys, Stars, Rangers, Mavs, Frogs and Dragons since her S-T arrival back in 1997. But the fun really began when she became a columnist in 2003. Sports opinions? She’s never short of them. And love her or Hate her, she’ll be just another one of the boys.' Link - Little Ball of Hate (LBOH) Could you imagine if she was a Bills fan??? Definitely The Senator's type of gal... -
First thing ya do is head down to the Lucky Pork store on Mission, and get yerself about 40-50 pounds of pork butt & some hog casin's... (Looks like it needs more red pepper... )

That's the guy...thanks... Bentley's first three years in professional football were spent with the Michigan Panthers and Oakland Invaders of the United States Football League. He later joined the Buffalo Bills, and played six seasons with the team, including their first two Super Bowl years in the 1990s.[1] Bentley's career ended with the Cincinnati Bengals in 1992. He attempted a comeback the following season with the Chicago Bears, but was cut after being caught distributing erotic photos of himself to teammates. (link) WTF?????!!!!! (BTW - Carter also has an interest in pro wrestling, apparently a big fan of Mick Foley aka 'Mankind' ) -

Nah, we're OK with facepainters - as long as they're on the field playing. (Who was the face-painter that played for us during the Kelly era? My memory fails me, but he was a fan favorite, I think.) Anyway, I think Carter gave up the face painting once he got to the NFL. Yeah once the helmet goes on, the 'do is done... Carter -

A character??? Waddaya mean??? Looks like your typical All-American kid to me. I don't get it... Carter Also one of the smartest guys on the team, according to his OL coach... Texas Tech thrives on character of offensive line But what is really intriguing is Leach's description of Carter's love of the game - "When the game's over, it's like he's disappointed because he wants to keep playing. He'd play another 60 minutes if he could." -

Wow - we have a professional scout among us, I see! And did the fact that undrafted Kurt Warner was cut by Green Bay before the 1994 season began also tell you everything you needed to know about the 4-time Pro Bowl, Superbowl MVP, future HOF QB??? Or maybe, unlike the Bills, they are deep with o-line talent and have other needs but - like every other NFL team - only 8 roster spots on their practice squad. Excellent points, sllib - thank you. What the moronic GameHendge and the newbie Decimus apparently fail to realize is that not too long ago the draft used to consist of 12 rounds, before that 17 rounds, and - once upon a time, when the earth was still cooling - as many as 30 rounds. (Johnny Unitas was drafted in the 9th round in 1955, former Bills 2-time AFC Championship QB Jack Kemp - 17th round in 1957, and former Bills/Raiders Pro Bowl QB Daryle Lamonica - 2nd best win % in NFL history behind Otto Graham - 24th round in 1963!) The point that is lost on Gamehendge and Decimus is, thankfully, clearly recognized by Buddy Nix... "There are a lot of good players out there. As all of us in here probably remember when there were 12 rounds and then there were 17 at one time. All of those players after seven rounds are still out there." Link - Undrafted players crucial to rookie classes I wonder if pro scout Gamehendge and newbie Decimus realize that in addition to Jason Peters and Fred Jackson, whom you mentioned, former Bills London Fletcher and Pat Williams - one of the NFL's best run-stoppers - were also undrafted, or that 9-time Pro Bowl, CFL and NFL HOF QB Warren Moon went undrafted after twelve rounds in 1978!!!! Take a look, Gamehendge, at some of the talent you and your fellow pro scouts have missed over the years... Link - Best undrafted players of all time The Bills are woefully lacking in o-line talent and depth, are in a rebuilding phase and desparately in need of young o-line talent to develop, and currently have only one offensive lineman on their practice squad (Jason Watkins) - they should probably have 3 or 4, IMHO. Git 'er done, Buddy! And while your at it, take a look at Cal left tackle Mike Tepper as well... -

A bunch of things, besides kicking back in Key West. In addition to the daily Sirius radio show with Jack Arute that Nanker mentioned, Leach is a TV analyst on CBS College Sports network with Roger Twibell... Leach takes on TV, plans to coach again Mike Leach Ready for CBS Booth After Year of Travails and Travels ESPN - Mike Leach talks new job and working the 'rubber chicken circuit', honing his public speaking skills... Leach delivers at TD Club I caught his first game last Saturday - he wasn't bad, didn't stutter or stammer, but basically still trying to 'find his voice'. He delivered a few funny lines, kept mumbling some nonsense about clubbing seals, but I'm still wating for the good stuff... College Football: Top 10 Things Mike Leach Might Say on CBS But I suspect the broadcasting thing won't last once the lawsuit is settled - there are a number of college coaches in the 'hot seat', and Leach is definitely looking to get back in... Jim Harris: Quick Glance Says Leach Should Be Re-Employed This Time Next Year (And, if Chan really thinks he gave the Bills young offense too much to think about in his Miami game plan, Leach is known for running a simplified game plan of about 6-10 plays from about a dozen different formation, and had let it be known that he'd consider an offensive coordinator position the NFL - Dan Patrick Show: Mike Leach to coach in NFL? ) -
One of the very few college football offensive linemen who played against Ndamukong Suh and Gerald McCoy multiple times but never gave up a sack to either one, Texas Tech guard... Brandon Carter Git 'er done, Buddy!

Quite the contrary - I'm a fan of and appreciate all types of music - even the most basic single string pentatonic riffs played repeatedly ad nauseum over the simplest 3-chord progression. But you actually think Jimmy Page was the first to play that crap? That he invented it? Like his contemporaries, Page was influenced by and 'borrowed' from guys like Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Howlin'Wolf, McKinley Morganfield, Buddy Guy, Les Paul, Carl Perkins, BB King, Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, and countless others. No one did it before Page? How 'bout Roy Buchanon, Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck, Johnny Winter, Eric Clapton, Alvin Lee, or Jimmy Hendrix (etc., etc.)??? Yeah, it sounds cool - it sounds cool when Keith Richards uses open tunings and distortion to get some of the most unique, hard-driving rhythm sounds out of his Fender Telecaster too, but it wouldn't call it the 'Gold Standard' in guitar playing. There is absolutely nothing new when it comes to 'pop' music - as Van Morrison will tell you... That said, for what he does, Jimmy Page is pretty effin' good. I love this cover of Zeppelin's 'Rock 'n Roll' by Jerry Lee Lewis and JP from Jerry Lee's duets album... (But, much as I enjoy his music, I'd never call JLL 'gold standard' of pianists - I'd leave that for folks like Vladimir Ashkenzy, Marc Andre-Hamelin, Martha Argerich, Lang Lang, Valentina Lisitsa, etc.)
-
Perhaps...if you're both intellectually AND musically vapid, that is. Otherwise, most musicians will tell you that the simple, monotonous Hanon exercises that most 2nd or 3rd year guitar students learn are more difficult than anything Jimmy Page ever played. Now take something in 4-part polyphony that was written to be performed on a 2-manual keyboard of 5 octaves each, adapt it to a single 6-string guitar, and you may be approaching something near a 'gold' standard... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNI8jbIJZvQ

Jason Peters's act wearing thin in Philly

My first recation: Rob who???' My second reaction: Oh well, guess it's better than signing Mike Myers - or Rob Schneider. Then I looked him up and found out he was an undrafted free agent in 2009 who, after (very) brief stints with the Jets and Eagles, spent the 2009 season on the Cheatriettes* practice squad and was cut this past September 3rd. My third reaction: He'll be gone in two weeks, after we play NE*.

Urbik was considered one of the top guard prospects for the 2009 NFL Draft..was selected in the third round (#79 overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. * 2005 second team All-American (Sporting News[1] and Rivals.com * 2007 consensus second team All-Big Ten selection * 2008 second team All-Big Ten selection (Coaches) * 2008 first team All-Big Ten selection (Rivals.com) * 2008 ESPN.com first team All-American Not a bad idea to build your o-line with Wisconsin guys, I think... link Hope we can get top LT prospect and fellow Badger Gabe Carimi in the draft as well.

Paul Posluszny has sprained MCL

That IS good news... PosLUSZny!!!!! -
If they do that, and I doubt they will but if they do, the Bills should instantly sign the QB on GB's practice squad - I can't mention his name 'cause BlueFire (aka 'Texas-Tech-Hating-Longhorn') will say I'm crusading, but he's the guy in this clip... (In fact, the Bills should go and sign him anyway - signing a guy from the team you're about to play this week is a classic Bill Belicheat* type move)
