  1. Trent knows our offense - couldn't execute it for sh_t, but knows the playbook - which is what Ryan wanted, because Fitz can execute.
  2. It's a pretty sleazy move by New Jersey's blowbag of a head coach, who did the same thing last season the week before the Jets played NE* - Jets may have upper hand over Patriots because of backup Kevin O'Connell (and New Jersey ended up winning that one 16-9) I think it's hysterical, though, that the only two teams that put a claim on Edwards just happen to be our next two opponents. After that, Trent gets a week off - then heads to B-more for a week, then KC...man, dude's gonna rack up some FF miles!
  3. 'Yes' to your question, and 'yes they can' to your opination. 'Spags' exists for the entertainment of TSW Bills fans to remind them, as this Sunday's game approaches, how all New Jersey Jets fans act, think, and speak.
  4. Kurt Warner came off the HyVee grocery store stock-boy squad, I remind you, after being cut by the Packers.
  5. JR, you seem to be suffering from amnesia - is this 'wholly ineffective dancing', or running 'straight through the hole and right over the defenders', I ask you???? (CAUTION: backgound rap music with multiple f-bombs & n-bombs - turn volume off at work and near kids) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDVcyD0SwEg Lynch might actually be my favorite Buffalo Bill - about the only thing more enjoyable to watch than those 'dance moves' is... (that stiff-arm reminds me of Cookie Gilchrist) Any trade for Marshawn Lynch, whom I'd HATE to see leave, had better be for a first round pick and player(s) or add'l picks. We will not see a back like him in a Bills uniform for a long, long time.
  6. Locker can rest easy, and resume losing games with his feet because: 1) He can't throw; 2) No way Buddy Nix drafts him; 3) No way Locker goes in Round One anyway.
  7. Well, here we go, man-child. And I thought this was gonna be a fun thread with some good-natured ribbing. Guess you Jets fans are a bit sensitive about that whole Jersey thing, eh? Here, we don't mind lending our team to lower Canada once a season.
  8. Yeah, and The Bills play theirs in the State of New York. I'm not saying the Jersey Jets gotta play right in Manhattan to be called the New York Jets - Flushing might be more appropriate, since their season will be flushing down the toilet Sunday nite after they leave Orchard Park and return to New Jersey.
  9. What part of Jersey you from? Good post, funny stuff. You might get a call from Jack right around Boxing Day - but the Jets will finished by then, so why bother? Buffalo Bills--- 44 New Jersey Jets- 3 GO BILLSSS!!!!
  10. Oh yes... Jaguars get QB Trent Edwards 'The only other team that put in a claim for Edwards was the New York Jets, a source told ESPN Senior NFL Analyst Chris Mortensen, but the Jaguars were awarded the former Bills quarterback on the basis of their 1-2 record.' I'd bet any money Ryan had a claim on Edwards w/in seconds after his name hit the waiver wire, but the Del Rio's worse W-L record prevailed. Ryan wanted to pick Edwards brain for this Sunday's game just like he did with Kevin O'Connell before the Jets/NE* game last season, only Jacksonville's Jack Del Rio (who also covets a win against us in two weeks) won the booby prize. (The only 2 teams that had any interest at all in Edwards just happen to be our next two opponents - go figure )
  11. Hey, it's not our fault that it's taking you and Chan a lot longer to figure out what we already knew!
  12. You kiddin'? Should we run up the score on Blowbag Rex Ryan and the New Jersey Jets?? After Ryan put a claim on Trent Edwards within minutes after he hit the waiver wire, trying to get enough of our playbook to shut us down because we put 30 points on the board against NE*??? HELL YEAH, WE SHOULD!!! "I’ve never understood how you train these young men to finish a game, play hard all the way to the end, through four quarters and then you set the example of letting up and stopping in the name of mercy. A bunch of whiners will call it sportsmanship and say ‘running up the score’ is bad for the game. To me it’s like golf: Just because you're 15-under do you just stop trying to make birdies so the score at the end of the tournament will be closer and the other golfers will feel all warm and fuzzy?” - Mike Leach Buffalo Bills--- 44 New Jersey Jets- 3 GO BILLSSS!!!! 16 and 3, it'll be!!!!!
  13. Any of these newly-inspired J-ville fans running out to buy season tickets?
  14. Still think that, Programming Primate???? Jaguars get QB Trent Edwards 'The only other team that put in a claim for Edwards was the New York Jets, a source told ESPN Senior NFL Analyst Chris Mortensen, but the Jaguars were awarded the former Bills quarterback on the basis of their 1-2 record.' Don't kid yourself - Ryan wanted to pick Edwards brain for this Sunday's game just like he did with Kevin O'Connell before the Jets/NE* game last season, only Jacksonville's Jack Del Rio (who also covets a win against us in two weeks) beat him to it! The only 2 teams that had any interest at all in Edwards just happen to be our next two opponents. Go figure. (Actually, I'd bet any money Ryan had a claim on Edwards w/in seconds after his name hit the waiver wire, but the Del Rio's worse W-L record prevailed.)
  15. Some factual corrections - since it's useful to have good, accurate information at times - and some personal observations/opinions: 1) Lynch signed a 5-year, $19M deal in 2007, is not a FA until 2012, and is a fantastic value at his 2010 salary $885K and 2011/2012 salary of $1.14/year (2012 is voidable) "Marshawn's ecstatic and looking forward to helping the Bills," agent Doug Hendrickson said. "All along, Marshawn told us he wanted to be in camp on time and instructed us to get the deal done." - (USA Today) 2) Besides being a great athlete and our best RB, Lynch has never had anything but good things to say about this city, this team, and the fans - at least until fans started their relentless ragging on the guy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSO-kdWLFes (You have to wonder if some Buffalo fans just don't want - or deserve to have - star quality players who are also entertaining, great teammates, and don't bash The BuffTown.) 3) As stated, the Bills don't have to worry about re-signing or extending ML until next season. 4) A 4th round pick? For a Pro Bowl RB was the #12 overall pick and rushed for over 1000 yards in each of his first 2 seasons??? Lynch was the second running back selected in the draft, behind Oklahoma's Adrian Peterson, who was taken at No. 7 by Minnesota. Lynch finished with 3,230 yards rushing and 29 touchdowns, while adding 600 yards receiving and six TDs in 35 games spread over three seasons at California. (USA Today) 5) We're playing for 1st pick in the draft? Really??? Care to tell the players who bust their ass day-in, day-out in practice and every Sunday on the field that what they're really aiming for - what their true goal should be - is to finish 2010 with the worst record in the NFL??? Personally I think that - while you have to listen to offers - unless someone offers MULTIPLE picks and players in addition to a first or high-second rounder, the Bills would be foolish to trade Lynch and should probably extend him and give him a big fat raise. Guy's a BEAST. A bruising, punishing back who fights for every yard and is also a receiving - and even passing - threat. This is the guy you want to trade for a 4th round pick... Link - Marshawn Lynch Seriously???
  16. Um, those aren't 'swirling trade rumors' - that's one Green Bay fan from Milwaukee, pissed off after his team lost to the Bears last nite, writing down his thoughts and hopes... "Maybe now the Packers will make some progress in their oft-rumored efforts to swing a deal for disgruntled Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch." Maybe??? Oft-rumored??? Rumor of a Lynch trade only began to surface 10 days ago after their RB Ryan Grant tore 2 ligaments in his leg, ending his season. "An NFL source said Monday night that the Bills, who had rebuffed not only the Packers’ advances but any team’s inquiries about the availability of the 2007 first-round draft pick, have put out word that they will at least start listening to offers for Lynch. Whether the Packers will – or will try to – trade for Lynch before the Oct. 19 trade deadline remains to be seen." An NFL source??? Sounds like one individual that occasionlly speaks to the writer, not 'swirling rumors'. What this NFL source does, and how credible he is, we don't know. Multiple reports in recent weeks have said that the Packers inquired about Lynch’s availability, and the source confirmed Monday night that the team had indeed contacted the Bills about him, even before Lynch ran 17 times for 64 yards against the Packers last week. Multiple reports = many other columnists saw the original report that the Packers made overtures for Lynch when Grant incurred his season-ending injury (= old news) the source = one 'source' telling the writer that the Packers contacted the Bills when Grant incurred his season-ending injury (= old news) Lynch is our best RB threat from LOS - absolutely punishing, bounces off tacklers. Trading him would be stupid, and Buddy Nix is not stupid.
  17. Start???? I'm guessing he'll be waived after they play us in 2 weeks, after they get everything they can from him about our play book.
  18. What you have to realize is that Trent was born a full two years after your Uncle Geno passed, so it's a bit of a reach comparing the two circumstances. Also, there is a huge demand for hand models - particularly glove models - in Northern California, so Trent's opportunities would have been better there than if he had continued to work for Ralph. But alas, it was not meant to be - Trent is now a Jaguar, perhaps appropriate for someone from Los Gatos... Jaguars have claimed QB Trent Edwards ...and will have to wait another 2 weeks 'til after we play them to begin his new hand job.
  19. Yes, C2, I understand the waiver process - for weeks I've been saying that Edwards will be out of football before the season starts; now, I'm saying no one will claim him. The Jets are his last chance to pick up another $$hundred grand$$ or so before beginning his new career in Silicon Valley.
  20. Maybe Chan Gailey has finally read The Senator's posts... link
  21. I was adamant about taking Oher over Maybin, and Bulaga last April. But then we would have had a decent o-line, and Trent Edwards might have lasted a few more seasons - which would have been the absolute worst thing for the Bills. So everything happens for a reason. The Spiller pick looks pretty damn good now, and chances are good in the next draft the Bills will have a shot at Gabe Carimi We'll get there!
  22. Of course this team has a plan. Obviously they have a plan - on offense, it's to score more points than our opponent; on defense, it's to stop our opponent from scoring. Personnel-wise, it's to play our best talent, develop promising young players, and improve via the draft. It's gonna take longer than 3 games. Sucks, but that's the way it is.
  23. We beat the Jets in week 6 last season, in New Jersey. We just put up 30 points on the Cheatriettes* in NE*. Trent Edwards knows our offense (can't execute it, but knows the playbook), the Jets are in a fight for the division against NE*, and Rex Ryan has a history of sleazy moves like this (as does Belicheat*). That's all I'm sayin'.
  24. Again, I'll say he goes to the Jets - Rex Ryan did the exact same thing with Kevin O'Connell the week before they played NE* last season.
  25. Finally coming around, I see! BTW, a team with a much better record - possibly NE*, who has the Raiders first round pick - could also draft Mallett/Luck/Locker/QB du jour and trade him (or the pick) for a half dozen picks over the next 2 years, so we damn well better find out about Brohm before the draft.
