No, the fundamental point is that Lynch is our best running back (and one of the best in the league), is young, is a #12 overall pick, is a 2-time Pro Bowl running back, and is signed thru the 2011 season at the bargain price of $885K this season and $1.14M next season. He has a 'voidable' 6th year in 2012 at $1.14M, and becomes a free agent in 2013. The knuckleheads that are clamoring for a Lynch trade now are the same ones that'll be calling for Nix's head when Lynch 'lites it up' for another team, or puts one of our d-backs in the hospital with his stiff-arm should we ever face him on an opposing team.

Nah, just throw a couple feet of gravel over the hole, like they did at Hickory Woods. I think there's even enough room for a golf course too. Now there's a multipurpose attraction that'll draw folks to the water. Stadium, shops ('Patriot* City' outside Gillette* Stadium even has a Bass Pro), golf course - I'm sure you could fit one on the site - they got one on the infield at Indianapolis Raceway. Annex the site and make it part of the City of Buffalo (the tax revenue to Lackawanna is negligible anyway), and build the damn thing! link -
I'm sure you're kidding - ML's favorite song is probably something NSFW by Bay Area rapper 'Keak da Sneak'; I doubt he ever listened to ABBA! And don't dare call him a 'Dancing Queen' to his face, or say he doesn't run straight - you're likely to be hit by Marshawn's 'Weapon of Mass Destruction'... I just love this 'dance move' too... Marshawn Lynch puts the hurt on Oregon DB

Great location, but you could never pull that off in Buffalo. For one, the NFTA has held that land for well over 50 years and done absolutely nothing with it, yet they covet it and apparently intend to have it lay fallow for 50 more. Second, there are hoards of 'obstructionists' that would be opposed to using that prime sight for a stadium and parking - for only 9 Sundays each Fall. And third, remember the 'Twin Span' Peace Bridge expansion that was announced in the early-to-mid 1990's? Well here's an article from this morning's Buffalo Snooze... Peace Bridge construction may start in 2012 Seriously,, the best site would be the vast wasteland that was Bethlehem Steel. It'll never be rehabilitated for any other use, has rail access galore, is right on the lakefront, right along the highway, is more than big enough for any and all ancillary requirements and amenities such as parking, field houses, executive office, critical care facilites, med-evac heliports, shopping malls, etc., etc. If you made it a totally 'green' self-sustaining facility by using solar, geothermal, and adding to the wind farm that's already there, you might even be able to get some 'Obama-bucks' to fund the thing! -

And that's exactly why Genesee County would never want a stadium out there - everyone trying to avoid the NYS I-90 parking lot would try to shortcut thru those narrow, windy roads that weave right thru their quaint little villages and charming, tiny downtowns. Hasn't gotten any better since I lived there in the '80s and had season tix at the old Shaefer/Sullivan/Whatever stadium next to the old dog track - even after they built a new stadium, widened all the access roads, and added tons of new parking at 50 bucks/car. -
I'll tell you what's entertaining; watching the number of new threads that pop up hourly about Marshawn Lynch trade rumors that don't exist! Every one of these so-called rumors - every freaking one of them - stem from one article by an upset Green Bay fan - Jason Wilde - that works as a 'reporter' for a Milwaukee radio station (540 AM ESPN Milwaukee), who happened to be a bit ticked off at the Packers front office after their Monday nite 20-17 loss to Chicago... Link - Bears 20, Packers 17: Especially disappointing By JASON WILDE (excerpt) Time for Lynch?: Maybe now the Packers will make some progress in their oft-rumored efforts to swing a deal for disgruntled Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch. An NFL source said Monday night that the Bills, who had rebuffed not only the Packers’ advances but any team’s inquiries about the availability of the 2007 first-round draft pick, have put out word that they will at least start listening to offers for Lynch. Whether the Packers will – or will try to – trade for Lynch before the Oct. 19 trade deadline remains to be seen. Multiple reports in recent weeks have said that the Packers inquired about Lynch’s availability, and the source confirmed Monday night that the team had indeed contacted the Bills about him, even before Lynch ran 17 times for 64 yards against the Packers last week. "Maybe now..."?" "Oft-rumored"? "An NFL source said..."? "Multiple reports in recent weeks..."? "The source confirmed..."? I didn't even know Lynch was "disgruntled"! What a bunch of crap, wishful thinking, and rehashing of old speculation regarding a dead deal that he wishes would have happened to replace their injured, out-for-the-season starting RB, Ryan Grant. Even more pathetic is the number of other 'reporters' that, having nothing to write about, immediately jumped on the fiction as fact, and even started creating their own rumors - like this Denver Kyle Orton thing. There was one stating NE* was a possibility. Many of them even cite the 540 Milwaukee piece as the 'source' for their alleged 'rumors' and quoted from it as if it were fact... On Monday night, an NFL source told ESPN Milwaukee’s Jason Wilde that the Bills, who had rebuffed not only the Packers’ advances but any team’s inquiries about the availability of the 2007 first-round draft pick, have put out word that they will at least start considering a possible trade for Lynch. The same source confirmed that the team had indeed contacted the Bills about Lynch, even before he ran 17 times for 64 yards against the Packers in Week 2. (link - Football News Now - Bills Likely to “Pull the Pin” on Marshawn Lynch Trade Before Deadline) I guess there are just too many 'reporters', and not enough stories to write. Hey, all you ersatz reporters - here's a scoop: LYNCH IS NOT BEING TRADED! There. Have at it. (And I once worked in the Bills press box, keeping stats for a preseason game and passing notes to Brian Baldinger - so you got it from an NFL source! )

It was to be a 70K seat dome on the site of the old golf course between Stony Road and Pavement - right around where Ecology and Environment now sits. There were going to take my parent's home by 'eminent domain' to widen the roads. To this day, my now 84-year-old father is still pissed at Ralph Wilson! -
There are no Lynch trade rumors; just lots of lazy reporters.

Mike Leach has a take on QB's coming out
The Senator replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
News flash - he wouldn't be playing behind this O-line. He'd be playing behind next season's O-line, or the season after that. (BTW, did you notice how much better this o-line magically became sans Trent?) -

Yeah Mallett's the 'Bradford' of this year's crop, only better - after that it's a HUGE drop-off, probably all the way to the 2nd round. -

Wasn't there a Bills lineman in the '90s that used to commute from Toronto every day? Only played here for a season, maybe two - can't remember his name - someone help me out... Seriously though - most of the Bills rookies (and probably about a half-dozen vets) live in Hamburg right off Route 5 (and right near Root Five), and can make it to the stadium or downtown in about 15 minutes. (I literally followed Josh Reed's car to the stadium one Sunday morning from my friend's house in the same complex). Who even thinks Genesee County wants a stadium? Is the nearly bankrupt State of New York going to widen the Thruway in both directions, and build new exit ramps? It's beyond my ability to even articulate how ridiculous an idea this is. -

Too late. Mallett's our guy! Link - RYAN MALLETT: THE PUNISHER STANDS ALONE What Arkansas fans should care about most is that Summer of Mallett is perhaps the first genuinely badass quarterback to line up under center for the Razorbacks in the modern era, a missile-hurling deathapult with an opportunity this weekend to singlehandedly take down the best football team in America for the past year and a half, the Alabama Crimson Tide.... He is something that, even when Bobby Petrino finds the next living avatar of his offensive genius, will stand as being unique: a gigantic, outsized savant-Sasquatch of a quarterback with an arm capable of passing exceeding the word passing. Ballistics might be a better term, particularly when he begins lobbing balls down the test range a piece. -

WHAT???? THERE'S A NEW STADIUM PLANNED IN BATAVIA???? THAT'S IT!!!!! I'VE HAD IT WITH THIS TEAM!!!! Ralph wants to funnel everyone onto the NYS Thruway and have us all sit there in our cars for 4 hours each way? I just got back from Boston and the NE* game - does anyone know what it's like to have one main road carrying all that traffic out to a stadium in the middle of nowhere in a short time-window, then all exit onto some sort of congested access road to the stadium parking, then do it all over again after the game? For years (since I returned to Buffalo in 1997) one of the biggest attractions about going to The Ralph every Sunday is that it's less than a half-hour commute from all the addresses I've had. Now I'm gonna have to drive all the way to freakin' Batavia and back??? Screw you, Ralph! I'm done with all your crap. -

Jeez, I happen to like Kelsay - I think you guys just need something to whine about, perpetually. So he's overpaid - what pro athlete isn't? Apparently Gailey & staff think enough of his progress in making the switch from DE to OLB, along with his attitude and work ethic, to extend him - they're a little closer to the situation and probably know a little more about it than any of us. Guy's 30 years old, wants to retire as a Buffalo Bill, and likely won't play out the full 4 years anyway. Let's rag on nothing but former Bills this week - and the New Jersey Jets... GO BILLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!!

Why can't the Bills get coaches like that? -
See? The OP was right - Ponder does not want to be drafted by Buffalo... Link - Stanford's Andrew Luck moves to top of mock draft Sporting News’ 2011 mock draft entering Week 5 of the college football season: 1. 49ers, Andrew Luck*, QB, Stanford 2. Lions, Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska 3. Panthers, Marvin Austin, DT, North Carolina 4. Bills, Christian Ponder, QB, Florida State I guess Ponder will try to play himself out of the first round after seeing that. People, the Bills will probably be drafting a QB or LT in round one, so everyone please refrain from saying anything bad about Ryan Mallett or Gabe Carimi - they'll both sh_t the bed if they catch wind that the Bills might draft them.
