  1. He was trying to find the fastest way to Black's Beach.
  2. He might want to talk to Corey McIntyre about this.
  3. You do realize that the board is fairly split on this, yes? Actually, probably well more than half WANT the Bills - are CLAMORING for the Bills - to draft an elite QB. There are literally NO Bills fans that do not want 'an elite QB'. Not a single one. What NO ONE wants is for the Bills to blow a very high - potentially #1 overall - pick on someone like a Jamarcus Russell, a Tim Couch, a Ryan Leaf, a Rick Mirer, an Art Schlichter, a Matt Leinart, etc., etc. - you know, all those high first-round guys that contended for all those championships year after year. Really not too difficult to comprehend, if you try. Myself, I want Ryan Mallett - but I could be happy with Wisconsin OT Gabe Carimi if that's how it pans out. Hopefully we get both.
  4. Yes, he hit someone once - so let's draft him as a 2-way guy and play him at middle linebacker as well
  5. Yeah, I know - wonder if Gailey ever 'reached out' to him, since they both coached there under Cowher (Gailey as OC, LeBeau as DC), and if he'd be willing to come back to BuffTown for a return-engagement as ass't head coach? Maybe even 'round out' the coaching staff with a real OC/ass't head coach - maybe someone like, oh, I don't know, maybe... Mike Leach???
  6. Are they still piping Yanni & John Tesh music into the workout room?
  7. Bring back Dick LeBeau.
  8. No - quite the family beach, actually. You're thinking of Baker Beach, closer to the GG Bridge, part of which is 'clothing-optional' - and let me tell you, most people who 'opt' out really really shouldn't! (Disgusting amounts of fat generally look better when well-tanned, and fully clothed.)
  9. I jumped in the Pacific just off Golden Gate Park once - severe 'shrinkage' - I think they crawled way up inside me to get warm! (And the water's a tepid 50-55 degrees there!) (But it'd help our D a ton if somehow we could get Dick LeBeau back here - wonder if Gailey reached out to him, since they coached together in Pittsburg under Cowher?)
  10. Might have been interesting to see what Mallett could have done the rest of the way, had he played more than 20 minutes. (Not to take anything away from Tyler Wilson - he looked great, you're absolutely right, and he's only a sophomore!) Don't know about the shoulder brace, but Mallett had surgery on his left foot (broken bone) and there's some metal screws in that leg somewhere - could explain the brace/cast (I don't know that it's a 'knee' brace, but lot's of QBs wear protective braces - Kelly, quite the gimp himself, wore two!)
  11. You need to take Luck off your list - at least until 2012 when he'll be in the draft. Probably take Locker off too, at least until round 3, maybe 4. Mallett will be the first QB drafted this April, hopefully by Buffalo.
  12. 3 pages? OMFG, there are posts longer than that on TSW. God, I miss grade school.
  13. Honestly, crayonz - stop it. Please. You're getting folks too wound-up!
  14. I enjoy every day, but - truth be told - I'd rather be watching a Bills game on Sundays.
  15. I guess Brohm will get his first start against KC, then - yes? (With Fitz out, will we be signing Graham Harrell off GB's practice squad?)
  16. I didn't realize Mallet played for Tech - when did he transfer? That he can do, and very well!
  17. Didn't see it, but guess I'm glad the Bills don't listen to me! (I was a big 'let's draft Bulaga' guy last April - maybe Buddy was right to draft Spiller.) Well, they do tend to get in the way of incessant whining.
  18. Thanks for the info - any idea how Bryan Bulaga played today?
  19. Just to play 'devil's advocate' - which QB's coming out are 'Sam Bradford #1' worthy? (I think Mallett is the only one - IF he comes out. JMO.)
  20. GREAT video - really good stuff, some of it funny (Art Donovan always makes me laugh) but all of it reflecting how different the game - and the players - were before the NFL became more big-time entertainment than sport. I had the great pleasure of meeting and chatting (and throwing back an occasional beer or five) with the late Monty Stickles many times when I lived in SF - someone introduced him to me as 'the dirtiest player in the NFL' - when I countered that Conrad Dobler would disagree, Stickles actually took umbrage saying, 'Dobler was NOTHIN' - I was WAY dirtier than Conrad Dobler!' Monty Stickles Hard to imagine - in this day of limos, agents, manicurists, lucrative endorsements, and instant wealth and fame - that we'll ever see the likes of that kind of player again.
  21. 'flee' market...that's funny (also true)
  22. Did I miss something? Is it more serious than a concussion?
  23. There's been a 'draft Gabe Carimi' movement going on here for a few months now (mostly by me, I guess). Gabe did a fine job handling Heyward - possibly the best DE in the country - last night. Wisconsin is well-known for churning out top offensive linemen and, believe me, Buddy Nix is very familiar with Carimi. He's a good one, and should go in the first round... Gabe Carimi
  24. Based on what?
  25. Actually, it was over 4 years ago. But hey, the aging NE Cheatriettes* and their idiot fans still think they're a dynasty too, because they won one over 6 years ago.
