  1. I would be surprised if Toronto did not get the additional...ahem...'home' game if the NFL goes to an 18-game season. OTOH, I'd be surprised if they got any more than that, given the soft-demand for tickets up there. (Unless, of course, the John Labatt Extra Stock kicks in and Rogers offers Ralph another $80-100M ) BTW, the current RWS lease is up in 2013 - shouldn't some local pols be talking up locking them in for another decade?
  2. Amen, brother, and hey, no blood, no foul - I am of the exact same reactionary nature! (And I do indeed fulminate - quite often, even!) I think our draft fortunes are going take a 180-degree turn, now that Nix calls the shots - we'll see soon enough... GO BILLSSS!!!!
  3. Calm down, John - I'm not fuliminating. (Great word, though! ) It was just a comment, ferschrissakes - and a sad one, too - that all of us, myself included, are now so totally focused on April rather than all the football left to be played.
  4. Nothin'-fer'-nothin', but this is about as -ed up as it gets - half a season to play, and and all we're talkin' is the draft
  5. I'm not sure what that data is supposed to reveal to us. Is there a list of ' Non-Hall of Famers by Draft Round ' ??? (I'm certain it would reveal what we all know - there are far more first-round picks that are not HOFers.
  6. Again, I'd love to see the Bills 2011 draft go something like this... Ryan Mallett, QB-Arkansas - Round 1 Gabe Carimi - OT-Wisconsin - Round 2 (or Round 1a via trade) Dontay Moch - DE/OLB-Nevada - Round 3 Owen Marecic - FB/ILB/ST-Stanford - Round 4a Remainder of draft - best player available I was hoping we could steal Pitt DE Greg Romeus (formerly projected in round 1 until back surgery) in the late rounds, but in his first game back he tore his ACL - poor kid went from 1st-round prospect to possibly being done playing football... The Greg Romeus injury Injury shelves Pitt's Romeus for season Injuries torpedo Greg Romeus' draft stock (Might be worth a 5th-to-7th round pick even if he goes on IR/PUP for the season - I'd certainly gamble a 7th - can't hurt us any more than the Marcus Easley, Danny Batten, or Kyle Calloway picks!)
  7. The key, Red, is to figure out who will suck in 2014, then trade for that teams 2014 #1 pick - kind of like NE* did by trading Richard Seymour in the summer of '09, for Oakland's first-round pick this April. (Only the Raiders aren't sucking as bad as Belicheat* needs them to, in order for him* to grab Ryan Mallett as *Brady's eventual replacement - maybe Buddy's got a better crystal ball!)
  8. I'd tend to agree - especially with Jones being a fellow-Razorback. Maybe we end up in a better draft position, or maybe Buddy can trade up. Maybe Gabe Carimi will rise further up the board when we're picking - or Buddy trades down, grabs Carimi and more picks. But if we lose out on Mallett, well hey, there's always Andrew Luck in 2012, or Oregon's Darron Thomas in 2013, or Chad Kelly (Jim's nephew) in 2014... Chad Kelly just finished an amazing season as the St. Joe's QB, leading the Marauders to the League AA Monsignor Martin Championship as the title game's MVP. Kelly put up numbers even uncle Jim would be envious of in his junior season. Chad passed for 25 touchdowns and ran for 14 more - accounting for 39 touchdowns - and according to Max Preps.com, Kelly became the first player in New York state history to run for over 1,000 yards and pass for over 2,000 yards in the same season. In 11 games, Kelly passed for 2,159 yards and rushed for 1,057 more, and that type of performance gets noticed. Chad is hearing regularly from such schools as Ohio St., Penn St., Georgia, Syracuse, Wisconsin and a host of others. Chad Kelly already has good size at 6-2, 190, and is still growing. How strong is his arm? Kelly won four straight national Punt, Pass and Kick national competitions, and last year threw the football some 70 yards in the air in San Diego to win it. (From WGRZ - Link-Chad Kelly Making HOF Uncle Jim Proud) Also, from Buffalo Snooze - Kelly puts on show at The Ralph Forget Luck, Mallett, and all the rest - Kelly's the most NFL-ready high school senior ever known to man! Too bad he can't enter the draft this April
  9. Realistically, I think we'll be picking somewhere between #5 - #8, and I'm praying Ryan Mallett is still on the board when we do.
  10. Can he declare and get drafted today? After all, I'd hate to see how far down his stock will plummet should Standford lose to Cal tomorrow! Guy's already got a full season and a half of PAC 10 college ball under his belt to assure us he'll be a guaranteed Pro Bowl QB - if I were Andy, I'd sit out the rest of the season. Why risk having a bad game and losing $$$millions$$$ ???
  11. ' Garrett's is named after an investor who helped finance the venture of a great neighborhood restaurant and tavern. This investor also gave us our mascot, the rhinoceros, by loaning a real rhino head that was prominently displayed in our downstairs bar. Today, you are greeted by a fiberglass replica rhino head as soon as your walk in the door. ' Garrett's I miss the real rhino - we used the horn as a coat hook. Just a block from my home on 29th, Garrett's was basically another room in my house (much like the Red Hat was in Boston, or the North Star in EssEff) - a room where I spent many hours ' unwinding ' !!!
  12. They're all - including the idiot Edward's Arm - on 'ignore', ERBF, so I don't even see what they post. (Unless it's as part of a reply, like now, and I only wish there was a way to block seeing them there as well). Anyone who professes a desire to have the Bills lose all of their remaining games - then attempts to argue why it's good idea - is a mental midget whose opinions are of no consequence to me. True fans, like us, want to see the Bills win. Every week. GO BILLSSS!!!!
  13. Git 'er done, Buddy! Absolutely. Then they should throw whatever obscene amount of money his agent demands at him, for at least ten years. After all, the world has seen him for a whole season and a half - so it's a given there's no chance he'll tank next season, like Locker this year. Hell, it's practically a guarantee a 'Savior' like Luck will lead the Bills to Superbowl Heaven.
  14. That's cause he isn't so good. Strange how a guy can be so highly thought of one year (i.e., Clausen, Locker, Insert-Name-Of-Current-QB-Du-Jour, etc.) can plunge so far in just one season, no? It'd certainly make me want to see a larger 'body of work' (as opposed to a just a season or so) before I staked my team's future (and $50-60M) on any one particular guy. Of course, that's just me.
  15. Looks like that happened in '89 - I moved to Boston in late '84 but I was there when the plane crashed into the bridge in '82... Air Florida Flight 90 Very scary - literally about 10 blocks from my office (and the White House, Depts of State, Treasury, etc.). Once we figured out what had happened, a bunch of us ran down to see if we could help but by then you couldn't get near the riverbank. The next day, local shock-jock Howard Stern faked an on-air call to Air Florida and asked, "How much for a one way ticket from National Airport to the 14th Street bridge?" That got him suspended for a few days, and eventually he moved on to NYC and bigger things. While I lived and worked in DC, I had to walk by dozens of strip clubs multiple time each day, going to & from my office 2 blocks from the White House, and was constantly being solicited by working girls that seemed to be on every corner. That always amused me - that this was all going on only a couple of blocks from Reagan's White House. Back then, you didn't venture much further up 14th than Thomas Circle, which was usually littered with used condoms. Now, I'm told 14th and U is a 'trendy' neighborhood. All that said, DC is truly one of the world's great cities - filled with power, culture, history, beauty, and Southern charm. WVU - you will LOVE it there!
  16. You're mistaking him for another player - Poz has no neck. His head is attached directly to his shoulders. GO BILLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!!
  17. Yes, well is was the Redskins - anyway, didn't mean to hijack the thread... I really like this Wood kid - what a great draft pick! (How often has that been said in recent years???) Wonder if the Bills have long-term plans to move him to center? We seem fairly deep at guard - especially if they keep Wang there and draft an OT (Gabe Carimi?) in the early rounds this April.
  18. Probably not - if it was, he would have gouged his eyes out instead.
  19. Yes the city has changed tremendously (I still occasionally get there on business), but I'd still want to avoid Anacostia, the Catholic U area, North Capitol Street, the NY Avenue corridor - basically all of NE, I guess! When I lived on 29th (on the C&O Canal across from the Four Seasons, there was no 'lower' Georgetown (between K & M Streets) - we called it 'Canary Row' or 'the Georgetown Ghetto' - now an 'upscale' neighborhood! My office on 14th & G would have been considered the edge of the 'red-light district' - and now it's all pricey hotels and office high-rises. Lived in SS briefly (Georgian Towers) - not an awful place but, again, I prefer VA or DC.
  20. Yes you're right - "aging malcontent" was just my more diplomatic catch-call phrase for ' fat, greedy, lazy, outa-shape, injury-prone locker-room cancer, declining in both talent and interest in the game ' !!!
  21. Isn't Cowturd's radio show is a sitcom?
  22. Generally, upper deck is rowdier. Stick to lower bowl - rows 10-20 - the closer to midfield, the more likely you are to be surrounded by long-time season ticket holders - generally more 'mature' (i.e., old farts) and well-behaved than the 'rabble-rousers' up top. (Less windy, too.)
  23. Something tells me the Secret Service will be keeping an eye on this nut... SWAT standoff
  24. While I do hope our secondary shuts him down cold this Sunday, that seems like honest, accurate commentary from TO - kinda wish he was still with the Bills this season, but he'd probably be a distraction on a team that's 'rebuilding'.
  25. Why would Luck sit out the 2012 season?
