1) I don't think it's safe to assume The Bills will be drafting in the top 5 - maybe not even in the top 10 (JMO); 2) Again, JMO, but I think the Luck-hype will peak and subside before the draft. Still don't think he'll come out, but also wonder - should he prove me wrong about declaring - if his stock might fall a bit before all is said and done.

If Fitz would have been the starter from game one.......

I'll have to look at the tape. -
Never thought we'd be picking first anyway. (Realistically thought we'd be picking between #5-#8 - now, with today's euphoria still building, I'm not so sure we'll be picking in the top 10.)

T.O. just hauled down 'The Senator' - just grabbed him by the arm and hauled him down. No Flag???? WTF????

First time watching Luck was yesterday

Meh, not really a bit more caustic than dozens of other posters' remarks aimed toward me. Not in the least. (Actually, to me at almost seems remarkably similar to the tone of a certain surly former-poster-turned-Global-Moderator.) -

Yes, Simon, I guess am quite your polar opposite. While you are known chiefly for your effusive warmth and charm (and for taking shots at me), I am, I guess, an antagonist for disagreeing with another's opinion - especially if the opinion I differ with happens to be one shared by you. I do my share of in-depth posts, and take my lumps and ridicule from 'antagonists' who don't agree with my opinions - why don't you aim a few of your snarky remarks their way? -

Wow, that was good analysis - and Luck's dad agrees with you too! Toughness. Yes. Two seasons in the PAC 10 have certainly proven his toughness. (You left out 'durability' - after 2 seasons, there can't be much doubt about that either.) -
Carson Palmer #1 Draft Pick
The Senator replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pretty freaking amazing, actually - but certainly not enough to stifle the ever-growing 'Luck is God' crowd. Sullivan, as distasteful as I find him, raises some of the same good points in this morning's column... Link - Palmer's struggles show nothing's for sure at QB - Seventh-round pick Fitzpatrick has been better at times than Bengals' franchise player. -

Ryan Mallett Sucks - Exhibit A: Aaron Murray

You should know more about him. While everyone else has heaped high praise on Andrew Luck, I've stayed off that bandwagon and have been 'talking up' Carimi (and Mallett) pretty much since September. This is not from yesterday's Wisconsin drubbing of Michigan, but from the Badger's 83-20 drubbing of Indiana last week... When a team puts forth a 83-20 shellacking of a conference foe there is plenty of credit to go around. Wisconsin, without potential All-American running back John Clay, received a dominant performance from their offensive line and simply pounded Indiana into submission on Saturday. It was an offensive display that Wisconsin hadn't matched in nearly a century. After reviewing dozens of prospects across the country over the weekend, the indelible impression made by the Badgers' offensive line in this game was simply too much for me to ignore. Though he was held out of the second half of this game with a minor leg injury, left tackle Gabe Carimi was the driving force behind Wisconsin's most impressive quarter - the second - against the Hoosiers. It was in this quarter that the Badgers pulled away from Indiana. While the final scoreboard is certainly proof to the contrary, the Hoosiers were competitive early in this contest, tying the score at 10 points each in the early minutes of the second quarter. However, an injury to Indiana's starting quarterback Ben Chappell and with the Badgers often operating on a short field, the rout was on. Wisconsin offensive lineman are often typecast as simply drive-blockers. In this contest there were certainly examples of Carimi doing just that. He played with good leverage and leg drive when doing so. It was the mobility and balance with which he blocked downfield and protected the edge in pass protection, however that is why he'll be a first round draft pick this April. (Link - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com) An O-line depth chart consisting of Bell, Wang, Wood, Levitre, Hangartner, Urbik, Wrotto, Howard, Carimi - enhanced/improved by whomever else we acquire in the draft or free agency - seems a universe away from the O-line just last season, and probably more than adequate to protect [insert QB name here] and open big gaping holes for [insert RB name here]. JMO. GO BILLSSS!!!! Reverse the Curse!!!!! -

Wow, that's really telling footage. Dude, really? You got any QBs in mind that don't ever throw INTs? Hey - here's another pass - one at a moment in a key game ' when it's all on the line...in the biggest moments of your career and/or against teams that are equal or better '... link Could you or I have thrown that one too? As previously stated, AJ, I already saw the play. Multiple times. Why are you giving me a clip of a pass-play I've already seen? Can you instead maybe give me one that shows how the ball mysteriously ended up in the WR's hands all on its own? Seriously - put the beer down and go to bed -

Am lovin' all the Mallett-talk - sure beats readin' 'bout Andy 24/7 !!!! MSU coach Dan Mullen, like many coaches in the Southeastern Conference, is very impressed with Arkansas’ offense and its quarterback. How impressed? Well, quarterback Ryan Mallett is the top NFL prospect when it comes to quarterbacks, in his opinion. “I think people get lost that an athletic quarterback is one that can just run the ball and is really fast,” Mullen said. “An athletic quarterback can also be a guy that buys himself some extra time in the pocket. And he has the arm strength where he can throw a 50-yard pass and it takes about half a second for it to get there.” (link) Then, there's this... Ryan Mallett threw for 305 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner to Knile Davis in double overtime, and No. 13 Arkansas beat No. 22 Mississippi State 38-31 on Saturday night. Mallett had a rough start to the game, but got going in the third quarter with an 89-yard touchdown pass to Jarius Wright — the second-longest in school history. The junior completed 17 of 26 passes and found Davis wide open for a 7-yard touchdown in double overtime to help the Razorbacks win their fifth straight. On top of his touchdown reception, Davis rushed for 187 yards and two scores as Arkansas (9-2, 5-2 Southeastern Conference) won its fifth straight. (link - No. 13 Arkansas tops No. 22 MSU 38-31 in double OT) And, of course, for video hi-lites, stats, game replay, etc. - link Should be a great opportunity to watch ' The Punisher ' in action, in a HUGE game against #5-ranked LSU next Saturday, Thanksgiving weekend, on CBS (2:30 EST) -

anyone watching Stanford vs Cal ?
The Senator replied to drinkTHEkoolaid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not watching, but keeping an eye on it - decent #s for Luck, but Cal is serving this one up for Standford - 5 Cal drives resulted in a fumble, 2 INTs, and 2 punts - 31-0 at the half and looks like a 'walk in the park' for The Cardinal today. -
No, you're right. Damn...if only we drafted Clausen last April, we'd have our ' franchise QB ' and wouldn't have to tell our guys how much better off they'll be if only they'd lose the rest of their games. Wake up and be somebody, dude. You win now. You play your ass off and try to win every game. You deal with the draft in April.
