  1. And the Cheatriettes* as well. (Quite a parade you got going on there!) A safe and Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!
  2. First of all, where the *astrisks*??? I believe TSW-protocol demands an asterisk at any mention of the Foxboro* Cheatriettes*! Second, while I hated Billy* Sullivan*, his* son* Pat*, old Sullivan* Stadium*, and those* parking* lots*, I absolutely revile Bob* Kraft* and his* iteration* of a once-respected Buffalo AFL/AFC rival. Third, Ralph Wilson is an even sharper businessman - Kraft* paid $10M in rent and then $18M to buy the lots*, another $25M for the stadium*, and $172M for the team* - Ralph parlayed a $25K investment into a $900M asset and got a free stadium while doing it!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! Why so SERIOUS????? One of my favorite sports moments of all time is Matt Millen decking snot-nosed Paddy* Sullivan* in the '85 playoffs...
  3. Yet when you listen to Leach explain it and/or read his reasoning/comments/ideas about a 64-team system, it begins to seem very logical, no? (Just what you'd expect from the brilliant analytical mind of that football genius/lawyer!!! )
  4. At least one college coach has been advocating a 64-team playoff for a couple of years now... Mike Leach Pushes for 'Mainstream' 64-Team College Football Playoff Mike Leach's Playoff Will Change World (FF to 2:40 mark for playoff discussion)
  5. Aside from the win itself - and the amazing way the Bills came back and accomplished it - Stevie's 'gesture' (I'd hardly call it a 'celebration') was one of the more enjoyable moments in Bills football this season! JMO.
  6. I forget now...who was Gailey's guy going into this season again??? (Not meant to be snarky or anything - just sayin' that, in the very short time we've known him, Chan has been known to change his mind.)
  7. You DO realize that Mike Leach - perhaps the most brilliant offensive mind in the game of football - has a law degree from Pepperdine, having aspired to be another 'Gerry Spence-type' before he entered the coaching ranks? I'm pretty sure Leach knows what the 'burden of proof' is in this suit. Mike Leach, the former Texas Tech football coach, filed a defamation lawsuit against ESPN on Wednesday, accusing it of “slanderous and libelous statements” in its coverage of his treatment of wide receiver Adam James last season... The lawsuit was filed in the District Court of Lubbock County, Tex., where Leach earlier filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against Texas Tech. The latest lawsuit says that both ESPN and Spaeth Communications, a Dallas firm hired by Craig James, slandered him and also accuses ESPN of failing to retract statements it knew to be false and damaging. Those include: ¶Leach punishing Adam James for sustaining a concussion. ¶Leach ordering James to be locked in an electrical closet. ¶Leach putting James at risk of additional injury. ¶Leach requiring James to stand in a dark room for hours. (Link - NY Times - Leach Files Defamation Suit Against ESPN) Also... Lubbock Avalanche-Journal - Mike Leach suing ESPN Adam James would later tell Liggett in sworn testimony Leach had not locked him in the closet. He also said he found the incident funny. Liggett said he then asked the network and public relations firm to retract their earlier statements and cease misrepresenting the facts of the case, but they have refused to do so. “ESPN and Spaeth Communictions have been informed as to the falsity of the statements that they have made, yet they have failed to retract those statements,” he said. Hope Leach prevails, and hope to see him back on the sidelines soon!
  8. Muchas gracias, amigo! (Don't know how in the world I missed this.)
  9. Therein lies the utter stupidity of the 'loser-mentality' Can you imagine deliberately 'losing out' with the intent of positioning yourself to draft a perceived 'Once-In-A-Lifetime' prospect - then ending up with a Jamarcus Russell??? When you could have won a few more games and gotten Adrian Peterson???
  10. One of the more clever NFL post-TD gestures ever, I'm surprised at the amount of self-righteous indignation I'm seeing on this one - must be from the same folks that are pissed-off over the win! GO BILLSSS!!!! Why so Serious????
  11. Likely so, but most of our careers are also somewhat longer than 8-10 years.
  12. Granted it's way more than most of us make - but by the time Barry Obama, Dave Patterson, Chris Collins, the Town of Hamburg, and the NFLPA each get their 'piece', how much do you think is left? (I'm also assuming those $15K in fines are 'after-tax' dollars that come right off his 'net' - after taxes, FICA, union dues, etc., etc. are deducted first.)
  13. I doubt that. Was the NE* celebration (mimicking the fake Minutemen) that resulted in a $10K fine also a uniform violation? (I hope Goodell has similar fines in store for Ocho Stinko when he debuts the new end-zone TD celebration dance that he's been yakking up.)
  14. What Promo said. And Vinny! Given the 0-8 start, I can't think of a better way to finish than winning the rest of our games - especially, sweeping the last 2 division games to ruin any chance of home field for NJ and NE* in the AFC playoffs... GO BILLSSS!!!! Reverse the Curse!!!!!
  15. See Munch's thread below on Wisconsin senior Lance Kendricks - the Badgers are playing for a piece of the Big 10 title on TV this Saturday, so you can watch him AND Gabe Carimi. (JStranger76 also mentioned that Raider TE Zach Miller will be a FA - unless the Raiders lock him up first.) I'd also like to see what current TE Shawn Nelson can do in a full season under the new regime - I haven't given up on the guy yet.
  16. LOVE IT, BF4E!!! But...a minute is a long time, some times... The Buffalo Bills scored 20 points in 77 seconds against the Denver Broncos on Sept. 30, 1990, a season that landed them in the first of four consecutive Super Bowls. The Bills are still the only team to do so in NFL history. Folks wonder why I'm such an unreasonable optimist - it's because I remember those days!!! An era when you could NEVER count the Bills out. As Yogi said, "It ain't over 'til it's over..." Those days are coming again soon, to a stadium near you...
  17. Also fair comments - but if they extended Chris Kelsay, I wouldn't be too worried about FitzJohnson. They're signed thru 2011 anyway, so we got 'til the 2012 season to extend them. But I do agree that our front office has no monopoly on perfection. (They extended Dick Jauron, ferchrissakes - why wouldn't they extend FitzJohnson?)
  18. Hey - the Bills needed depth at the position, gave CG a shot, he didn't work out, they waived him. Green's not the reason the team is 2-8 right now, and waiving him says the Bills are committed to pruning the dead branches from the tree. (Albeit ever-so-slowly.)
  19. You're referring to Carimi, I think? JMO, but I don't see the Bills picking before the 8th spot - maybe even closer to the middle - of the round, barring trades. Twenty-nine straight running plays... Badgers run ball 29 straight times during second half I'd say the o-line is pretty good! (Wisconsin is an o-line ' factory '.) If you want to see these guys, tune in to the Wisconsin/Northwestern game Saturday - Wisconsin's playing for at least a piece of the Big 10 Conference title - we'll get a good look at Kendricks, and might see Carimi's draft stock skyrocket.
  20. Thing is, aforementioned Raiders TE Zach Miller had pretty decent rookie year - 44 catches/444 yds, 3 TDs, 24 first downs - and can block. I'd be very happy with him, or with Lance Kendricks - haven't focused on him at all because I've been paying too much attention to Carimi, but one thing we know is that Wisconsin guys can block... Badgers run ball 29 straight times during second half Unfortunately, we can only draft one player per round (unless we trade for more picks), and Kendrick is projected as a 2nd-3rd round guy - I agree with the camp that says we need help on D in the early rounds. (If Kendricks is still there in round 4 where we have 2 picks, sure, grab him.) Right now I'm hoping for Gabe Carimi in round one (I still think Luck stays in school - but even if I'm wrong about that, Luck AND Mallett will both be gone by the time the Bills pick.) I like Nevada's Dontay Moch over Beal in round 2, mainly for Moch's speed (he runs the 40 faster than CJ Spiller)... The NFL scouts didn't believe their stopwatches. They were the ones who timed the run. They were the ones who saw it happen. But they didn't believe it. Nevada's Dontay Moch had just run 40 yards in 4.18 seconds. That would be among the fastest times ever recorded. In disbelief, they made him run again. He clocked 4.08 on his second try. That time is almost inhuman. So they made him run again. On his third and final try, he covered the 40 yards in 4.2 seconds. Maybe he was a little tired, but even that time is run by only the most nimble wide receivers and cornerbacks. Imagine a 6-1, 245-pound defensive end such as Moch running it. Unthinkable. "He has freakish talent," Wolf Pack defensive coordinator Andy Buh said. "Freakish talent. That would be my two words for Dontay Moch. When he puts his mind to it, he's unstoppable." (Link - USA Today - Nevada defense moves at Dontay Moch speed) And I'm kind of fixed on this Owen Marecic kid - Stanford's 2-way standout - in round 3 or 4... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnzmNUcLG2M A player like Marecic would be loved here in BuffTown - a FB/ILB/ST standout... Link (Sports Illustrated) - The Perfect Player Back to defense, don't forget that Pitt's Greg Romeus may be there past round 4 - maybe right until the end. Depending on what his doctors say, I'd certainly burn a 7th round pick on a former 1st or 2nd round DE prospect. (With his latest ALC injury, he likely won't have any combine #'s - but hey, he can't turn out any worse than Kyle Calloway!) Romeus GO BILLSSS!!!! It'll be ' heaven ' in 2011 !!!!!
  21. A 263-lb. safety ??? Holy crap, Batman! The thing (for me, anyway) about obsessing with the draft is that, while fun, it's frustrating - you're all set with who you want, then that guy goes 'off the board'! Beal looks like a solid choice - more DE-sized, where Dontay Moch is slightly smaller, but has 'Moch Speed'. (Dude ran the 40 in 4.19 - that's almost a second faster than C.J. Spiller!) Rumors of Dontay Moch's speed are not exaggerated
  22. Bills fans, I give you... 'The Perfect Player' (link) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnzmNUcLG2M
  23. Who'da thunk TSW would go from non-stop, rampant negativity to raging optimism is 24 hours? Must be something that happened - as I've said, Bills fans are a fickle bunch.
