  1. I'm sure Nix took a look at Andy while visiting ' The Farm ' (just to get an idea about next year's QB class) but I believe NFL scouts are prohibited from talking to draft-ineligible athletes, which would include Luck unless and until he declares for the draft, and which also leads me to believe that Nix was really there to scout Stanford's 2-way stud - senior FB/ILB Owen Marecic... Also see... Owen Marecic scores 2 TDs in 15 seconds The Perfect Player
  2. I'd be buying my plane tickets for Indianapolis and Superbowl 46!
  3. And I'm sure Nix & Co. were just thrilled that RW revealed our draft intentions in the media. (Hopefully, Ralph doesn't remember why he said that - or, for that matter, ever saying saying it at all!)
  4. All depends on which ' bible ' you read, I guess. Draft Scout has him pegged at # 37 (and rising)... Draft Scout Profile - Dontay Moch Back in Sept/Oct, I thought we could get him in round 3 - now I think we gotta grab him in the 2nd. JMO. The NFL scouts didn't believe their stopwatches. They were the ones who timed the run. They were the ones who saw it happen. But they didn't believe it. Nevada's Dontay Moch had just run 40 yards in 4.18 seconds. That would be among the fastest times ever recorded. In disbelief, they made him run again. He clocked 4.08 on his second try. That time is almost inhuman. So they made him run again. On his third and final try, he covered the 40 yards in 4.2 seconds. Maybe he was a little tired, but even that time is run by only the most nimble wide receivers and cornerbacks. Imagine a 6-1, 245-pound defensive end such as Moch running it. Unthinkable. "He has freakish talent," Wolf Pack defensive coordinator Andy Buh said. "Freakish talent. That would be my two words for Dontay Moch. When he puts his mind to it, he's unstoppable." (Link - Nevada defense moves at Dontay Moch speed)
  5. I know how you feel - as a Pole, I cringe every time I hear an announcer say PussLUZnee - it's PosLUSZny!!!!! , dammit! (pronounced ' pozLOOOSHnih ' - means ' obedient ' - link) Here's another helmet-cracking video of Marecic, who'd look just great in Bills' Blue... I've seen him in a few Arkansas games, but haven't focused on him much. He's a bit smaller - and a bit slower - than Carimi... DraftScout Profile - Gabe Carimi DraftScout Profile - Demarcus Love It'll be great to watch Love (and Mallett) against Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl, and Carimi (and Tolzien and Kendricks) against TCU in the Rose Bowl.
  6. And now he's got Luck, who won't come out until 2012 - and Locker, who won't get drafted until at least round 3 - as his top 2 QBs
  7. Only ' great ' ??? He's ' perfect ' ... The Perfect Player In his office Harbaugh keeps one of the several helmets Marecic has cracked while at Stanford. At Harbaugh's request Marecic signed the helmet, along with words he lives by: TODAY GIVE ALL THAT YOU HAVE, FOR WHAT YOU KEEP INSIDE YOU LOSE FOREVER. You just know how loved a slavic 2-way player and special teams ace will be here in the BuffTown, and I gotta think that's who Nix was really scouting on his last trip to Palo Alto. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnzmNUcLG2M
  8. I think Mallett will be gone by the time we pick, Bill - which, right now, I'd project around the # 8 spot (JMO). Mallett's a favorite of mine too but, as you know, there's a QB draft-darling every year - and maybe even we wind up with Andy-Boy in the 2012 draft if he has a crappy season next year. I'm still for taking Wisconsin LT and Outland winner Gabe Carimi in round one. Think Nevada DE/OLB Dontay Moch in round 2, and Stanford ILB/FB/ST stud Owen Marecic in round 4.
  9. Your assumption is correct - Wisconsin QB Scott Tolzien (not a bad round 7 or UFA pickup in his own right) was sacked a total of 12 times this season. I haven't seen every game but assume they're not all on Carimi, or he wouldn't have won the Outland for best lineman. .
  10. Right now I see the Bills drafting around the # 8 spot, and - as I've oft stated - Luck's not coming out this year anyway. I'm still sticking with Wisconsin LT Gabe Carimi... Gabe Carimi wins Outland Trophy Wisconsin OT Gabe Carimi wins Outland Trophy .
  11. I'd like to see him run outa town, but no - I don't even want the visual of what's being discussed here, any more than I want to see Marv Albert in a bra.
  12. Really? You don't think he should have seen his duty as a father to maybe try and stop his daughter from seeing the guy, rather than sawing-off the guy's nuts with a bread knife while 2 other guys held him? (I'm not saying there's nothing perverse about the relationship - there is - but age of consent is 14 there, and no one is accused sexual assault or rape.)
  13. I understand your point, and am not looking to argue either - I'm sure politics played a role in the decision, but Gailey was so vocal about a wide-open competition (which everyone knew was a lie), almost to the point of being cocky about the announcement that Edwards had won said fake-competition. I'm a Gailey-fan, but let's not pretend the guy walks on water - that whole Edwards decision, and Gailey's vile canard about an ' open competition ' that Fanning-Boy somehow won, cemented the first half of our season. Imagine how different the season might have gone had Fitz been the starter from week one. BTW - you may have a point about Ralph wanting Edwards, but I doubt the fans would have had any problem at all seeing him relegated to a back-up role. If it really WAS Ralph's call to go with Edwards, hopefully Chan's small modicum of success in the 2nd half will allow him to ' grow a pair ' in future personnel decisions.
  14. That's a shame, thought we had a good one in Nelson. Time maybe to think Lance Kendricks in Round 3? 2010 JOHN MACKEY AWARD FINALIST: Lance Kendricks leads Wisconsin with 39 catches for 627 yards and five touchdowns. In addition, Kendricks has proven invaluable as a blocker for the Badgers’ high-powered rushing attack, which currently boasts three players with over 800 rushing yards and at least 13 rushing touchdowns. Kendricks ranks third among all FBS tight ends in receiving yards, is tied for sixth in touchdowns and is tied for seventh in receptions. Earlier this season, Kendricks became the first Badger since Travis Beckum in 2007 to record back-to-back 100-yard receiving games when he tallied 103 receiving yards and one TD on six catches vs. Austin Peay one week after a career-high seven receptions for 131 yards and one score in win over Arizona State.
  15. Is he housebroken? If not, Jerry Sullivan's column might finally be useful for something.
  16. You mean he might actually stay at Stanford, finish his degree, and not declare for the 2011 draft??? Wow, I'm totally amazed! .
  17. What??? No picture of the daughter??? Helmut should be castrated himself for his crime. Age of consent is 14 in Germany, 16 in Russia - where he's originally from - and attitudes in Europe are far different than in this country regarding older men dating much younger women. (See Ronnie Wood, 61, and 18 y.o. gal-pal Ekaterina Ivanova.) That said, I'd' still like to see a photo of the girl that caused this poor guy to lose his nuts!
  18. Ouch. Got me again. NOW can we get back to the thread about the draft???
  19. When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide Where I stop and turn and I go for a ride Till I get to the bottom and I see you again Yeah, yeah, yeah Do you don't you want me to love you I'm coming down fast but I'm miles above you Tell me tell me come on tell me the answer and you may be a lover but you ain't no dancer Go helter skelter helter skelter helter skelter Yeah, hu, hu I will you won't you want me to make you I'm coming down fast but don't let me break you Tell me tell me tell me the answer You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer Look out Helter skelter helter skelter helter skelter Yeah, hu, hu Look out cause here she comes When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide Where I stop and turn and I go for a ride Till I get to the bottom and I see you again Yeah, yeah, yeah Well will you won't you want me to make you I'm coming down fast but don't let me break you Tell me tell me tell me the answer You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer Wow...that's deep, man! .
  20. Well that's certainly very annoying - there are lots of really annoying X-mas tunes, but I think the most annoying ever must be... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dnrosVyamY
  21. Oh, touché!!! Now that you're pleased with yourself about zinging me for being a Leach fan, can we get back to the thread? (I think Leach's history of unparalleled success in every single coaching position he's ever had will eventually result in a good gig once the legal crap is settles - otherwise, I guess you're saying unemployed coaches like John Gruden, Brian Billick, Chan Gailey, et al who have been out of the game for a few years had best give up hopes of ever coaching again? )
  22. Geez, anyone wonder what the odds are this guy's a flaming homosexual? (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) ALASTAIR MACAULAY
  23. You must not have heard what Chan Gailey said 16 weeks ago - " Trent Edwards is our starter - he's earned it. " Now that the real starter has emerged (after Gailey's ridiculous charade of a 3-way competition determined that Edwards was our best QB ), it will be interesting to see if the Bills tender an offer to RFA Brohm after the season ends. I still think he's rife with potential.
  24. And yet, amazingly enough, there are idiots just drooling to trust the next 8-10 years to a PAC 10 red-shirt sophomore that just turned 21 - and throw him $50M or so before he ever tries on an NFL helmet
