  1. I also chose to use a fairly sophisticated modeling tool (my own brain) a couple months ago - it indicated that the Bills will draft somewhere in the #8 - #10 spot, selecting Wisconsin LT Gabe Carimi in round one and Nevada DE/OLB Dontay Moch in round two.
  2. Don't mean to ' shoot the messenger ' here, but that mock draft is supposed to be for THIS year??? I take it that ALL of these underclassmen (many of them sophomores) in that mock are declaring for the 2011 draft???? 1 Carolina Andrew Luck QB Stanford 2 Cincinnati Nick Fairley DT43 Auburn 3 Denver Da'Quan Bowers DE34 Clemson 5 Arizona Patrick Peterson CB LSU 6 Dallas Marcell Dareus DE34 Alabama 8 San Francisco A.J. 3. Donte should give back a $$million$$ for every time he guaranteed a playoff berth. (Hey Donte, STFU and do your job - no one gives a flying- how much you think you're worth.)
  4. I wish I could be of more help to your friend but, unfortunately, I do not no the answer - nor was I aware that pumpkin seeds had any distinct smell. I suspect - and this is only pure speculation - that it has at least something to do with the putrification of certain types of carbohydrates that cannot be digested by humans but are attacked by gas-producing colonic bacteria - most of which is absorbed though the intestinal mucosa, the rest being expelled through the anus. I would also caution that your friend does not follow through with non-gaseous matter - an act commonly known as “sharting”. .
  5. Dunno, K-Dog, just don't know the answer to that. But that's what Gailey get paid to know - I can't imagine every fan in Buffalo knowing how bad Edwards sucked and - with mountains of game tape to review and being around him and seeing how he plays and interacts with teammates on a daily basis - Gailey not being able to figure it out. And I still think Gailey ' dressing down ' the Edwards-mockers at SJF was a stupid move on Chan's part, and certainly factored into the D-minus I give him for the Spring/Summer/First-Half-Season.
  6. Um...this will be our last game of the year, period. But New Jersey has not clinched yet - I do hope that, in our first game of 2011, we can knock them out of the playoffs .
  7. If you were to spend any time near Sage and his lentil-farts, you'd be breathing nothing but nitrogen in 2011... Composition of flatus Nitrogen, the main constituent of air, is the primary gas released during flatulence, along with carbon dioxide, which is present in higher quantities in those who drink carbonated beverages regularly. The lesser component gases methane and hydrogen are flammable, and so flatus containing adequate amounts of these, can be ignited. However, not all humans produce flatus that contains methane. For example, in one study of the feces of nine adults, only five of the samples contained archaea capable of producing methane. Similar results are found in samples of gas obtained from within the rectum. The gas released during a flatus event frequently has an unpleasant odor. For many years, this was thought to be due to skatole and indole, which are byproducts of the digestion of meat. However, gas chromatography testing in 1984 revealed that sulfur-containing compounds, such as methanethiol, hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell) and dimethyl sulfide, were also responsible for the smell. The incidence of odoriferous compounds in flatulence emissions increases from herbivores, such as cattle, through omnivores to carnivorous species, such as cats. Such odor can also be caused by the presence of large numbers of microflora bacteria and/or the presence of feces in the rectum. The major components of the flatus, which are odorless, by percentage are: * Nitrogen: 20–90% * Hydrogen: 0–50% * Carbon dioxide: 10–30% * Oxygen: 0–10% * Methane: 0–10% (from Wiki) .
  8. I love Nat's version - I like mine even more - but nothing quite like hearing Rachmaninov playing Rachmaninov, I think. JMO, of course. (Enjoying a CR Cask #16 nitecap, neat - gonna watch Colbert and call it )
  9. Best known as Det. Arthur Dietrich, died from cancer... link Veteran character actor Steve Landesberg dies
  10. Good stuff. I offer... An equally good duet: Willie Nelson/Norah Jones - Baby, It's Cold Outside A rock-n-roll classic: Keith Richards - Run Run Rudolph And nothing like hearing it by the guy that wrote it: The Christmas Song - Mel Torme
  11. Yeah I was gonna fail him the first semester too, but he saved his ass (in my grading system, FWIW) by cutting Edwards. If the Bills beat NE* and NJ, I'll up his second semester grade from B+ to A- and if we knock the Jets out of the playoffs, Chan can earn extra credit and raise his 1st-year grade to a B
  12. I'd give Chan a D-minus for the OTA/training camp/preseason/first-half of the season - mainly because of the Trent Edwards decision, Gailey's vile canard of an open competition for the QB spot, and his cockiness in pronouncing Edwards winner of said faux-competition and our starting QB. (I'd have given him an F had he not acted decisively in dumping the cowardly Fanning-Boy after 2 losses that could have been wins.) Clearly Gailey has improved as a coach as the season progressed, just as the team has improved - he gets a B+ for the second half of the season, finishing his freshman season as Bills HC with a C grade. He's found his way - took longer than it should have, but we're now on the right track. We could have done better this year if not for Gailey's early mistakes - especially the almost incomprehensible selection and endorsement of Trent Edwards as an NFL QB.
  13. Please do Cornellians everywhere a favor when you're crappin' gravy and fouling up the atmosphere with your lentil-farts - tell folks you went to Hobart! .
  14. Homo locum ornat, non hominem locus. GO BILLSSS!!!! Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam!!!!!
  15. If the count is that low (and after yesterday's fine win over Miami), RW may see visions of Lou Saban in his fireplace and receive visits from the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present, and Yet to Come! Look for RW to once again open his wallet and make a sizable donation to either military families and/or some disadvantage youth group this week... GO BILLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!!
  16. Does Cornell Dining even serve those? (I hope you live off-campus, and alone.) .
  17. I still think we'll finish 6-10, draft somewhere around the #10 position, and should take Wisconsin LT Gabe Carimi - who handled Kerrigan pretty well this year, along with Ohio's Cam Heyward and Iowa's Adrian Clayborn). (I'd keep an eye on Purdue's Ryan Isaac for 2014.)
  18. No question - in fact, one of the more refreshing differences between CG and previous Bills coaches is Gailey's willingness to admit errors and correct them...quickly and decisively. This can only bode well for next season, when he won't have to ' get his arms around ' the entire roster and organization but instead can focus more on new draftees, a roster he already knows, and build on what they've learned this season. GO BILLSSS!!! PosLUSZny!!!!!
  19. Who's Jerry Sullivan?
  20. Ditto on Fitz - and apologies to The Amish Rifle. I had him at 3rd string, behind Brohm and Brown. (Was right about Fanning-Fan, though, and we still have no idea how good - or bad - Brian Brohm might be.) Most definitely knew this team was better than 0-16, or 2-14, or even 6-10 - if only Gailey hadn't effed up early on with the QB choice. .
  21. Yes - just wondering if you knew you are famous??? From Buffalo News article, Buffalo's Best Backers by Erin Morris (published in the buffalo magazine insert, November 2010 issue)... Are Bills fans in other NFL cities at risk when expressing team loyalty? "What's the toughest job in the world? Being a Buffalo sports fan in the City of Dallas," says Diane "Aussie" Werling, president of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Bills Backers. Dedicated Bills fans living in that part of Texas meet every Sunday to watch the games despite the "grief from obnoxious Cowboys fans." I've searched high and low - there is no link (apparently this is one section The Snooze doesn't bother to publish on-line) - but I'd be happy to email you the article as a PDF, or pick up a stack of free copies next time I'm at Tops! GO BILLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!!
  22. So here's how The Senator would proceed in this year's draft... 1 - Gabe Carimi, LT, Wisconsin 2 - Dontay Moch, OLB/DE, Nevada 3 - Lance Kendricks - TE, Wisconsin 4a - Sione Fua, DT, Stanford 4b - Owen Marecic - ILB/FB/ST, Stanford 5 - Alex Henery - K, Nebraska I'd burn a late round pick on Pitt DE Greg Romeus if he's still there in round 6 or 7 - guy was supposed to be a 1st round DE prospect until he decided to return for his senior year and tore his ACL. (Can't turn out any worse than last year's round 7 pick Kyle Calloway - or, for that matter, 2009's 1st round pick Aaron Maybin!)
  23. Great commments, Bill, as always. And ditto regarding the excellent job Chan Gailey and staff are doing with this young team. The way Chan successfully develops QBs and employs an offensive game plan that distributes the ball evenly to all his offensive weapons reminds me quite a bit of Mike Leach
  24. In bars? That's a supposition - an incorrect one, at that - and, like everything else you type, you have absolutely no data to corroborate such a ridiculous invention. Yes, I've read more about the Kennedy family that you will ever read about anything. Lots of very brilliant people go to Brown - and many very stupid people are lucky to get into UB, squeaking in only because it's a public institution and they are NYS residents. I'll bet you fall into that group. The NYS Bar exam is, BTW, incredibly difficult - I doubt you'd even comprehend the instructions for taking it.
  25. Moorman got his mojo workin' when it counted - that 60-yard clutch punt (under a tremendous rush, BTW) in the last minute of Q4 lacked no mojo at all, IMHO. (Now 0-for-4 Miami Pro Bowler Dan Carpenter - there's a mojo-less kicker!) .
