I really don't get too excited about any underclassman - or how a win or loss might place the Bills in position to draft any particular underclassman - unless and until that underclassman actually declares for the 2011 draft.

U Maryland talked to Gus Malzahn
The Senator replied to Cynical's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That 'news ' is about 5 days old - June Jones has since stated he's "not interested" and Malzahn has a national championship game to focus on... Gus Malzahn said Friday that his attention is focused on points west and not on the vacant job at Maryland...ESPN.com reported earlier this wee. that Auburn's offensive coordinator interviewed for the Terrapins' top job. Malzahn, during an impromptu meeting with reporters Friday, declined to affirm or deny his interest in Maryland and said he's concentrating on beating Oregon late this month. "My only focus is helping us win a national championship," Malzahn said. "I'm not going to let anything distract me or get in my way. Like I've said all along regarding a head coaching job, it has to be the right time; the right situation." Link - Malzahn thinking Ducks, not Terps Leach is the only candidate to nhave met extensively with the AD, university president, and entire search committee on his recent 2-day campus visit - given Maryland's stated intention to announce their new head coach no later than Jan. 4, look for Leach to be named HC no later than Monday, and for The Senator to purchase his Terps season tickets no later than Tuesday (Washington Post - Leach meeting goes well) -
(LAMP) Just started week 2 of P90X

I chose to wait for the P100X, which is supposed to be even better and comes out in just 2 days. -
One of the biggest reasons I'd be for an 18-game regular season is eliminating one full-priced pre-season exhibition game - I also hated being forced to buy those as part of the season-ticket package.

What's your favorite mixed drink?
The Senator replied to BuffaloBill's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Any good, pure fruit-juice with high-quality grain vodka - I love a good Cape Codder, Ice Pick, Greyhound, Sea Breeze, or - lately - Blueberry & vodka. But my absolute favourite is something I call the... Senatorial Cocktail Over ice, pour: 1-part vodka (any high-end five-column distillation brand will do - these days I'm partial to Pearl Vodka) Add: 3 parts vodka Stir gently, garnish with a lemon twist or razor-thin orange slice. Enjoy! Na Zdrowie!!!! -
Chupacabra??? Oh hell yes!!! Debra Kedabra

Nebraska placekicker/punter Alex Henery is one cool kickster - probably the top kicker in the draft, and clearly can kick in cold weather. Those guys usually go undrafted, but NFL Draft Scout has Henery rated a round 5-6 pick... Link - NFL Draft Scout Profile-Alex Henery If the Bills are at all concerned about the future of their kicking game (both Moorman and Lindell), they should be looking at Henery.

A WIN THIS WEEK WOULD BE DEVISTATING!!!!!

And how many concussions did you suffer when you played? Because I guess I'm not going to be able to convey this simple fact - NO HE WAS NOT EVER EMPLOYED BY AN NFL TEAM!!! (He does try to sell them his amateur scouting info, though I'm not sure he's very successful at it.) I just gave you his entire f&%king resume - he graduated from Southern Missouri College 4 years ago, coached high school and minor-league football for 2 years, and started his NFL Scouting blog in 2006 - yet you still insist he was an NFL Scout for 10 years??? -

My friend, it is you that ' should look into things ' before ' going off ' - as I tried to enlighten you, Matt Miller would certainly have you think he was an NFL scout. Let me try to help - I have been ' scouting ' future NFL players for some time myself. Therefore, I guess I'm also an NFL scout. (Only, I'm not.) Here's your...ahem...NFL Scout Matt Miller - Matt Miller - Linked In Does that sound anything like a 10-year NFL scout to you? Care to advise me more about ' looking into things '? If the Joplin Crusaders (where Matt coached special teams and helped out with recruiting for 2 years) are an NFL franchise that I haven't heard of, then yes - your Miller is a former NFL Scout. Otherwise, he graduated from college somewhere in southern Missouri in 2006 with a degree in business law - and his specialties, as he himself lists them, are " social networking, NFL Draft columnist, football scouting, football coaching " Here's another ' NFL Scout ' you can cite... Link - Gabe Carimi (Hey, kid says he's an ' NFL Draft Scout ' - so he must be right about Carimi, yes?) Try looking at some better sites, or look at some film, or read some articles by knowledgeable reporters who actually watch Carimi (or any other NFL draft prospect that interests you) week after week, year after year... Carimi is a potential top-10 pick because of his prototypical size, excellent athleticism and the importance placed on the left tackle position. NFL offensive line coaches won't like the way he bends at the waist and the number of plays he ends up on the ground, but will ask their general managers to take on a chance on his talent because he could be a long-time NFL starter... Pass blocking: Has the elite agility and nimble feet to protect the quarterback's blindside. Very difficult to turn the corner against because of his lateral movement and solid footwork. Also protects the inside lane well. Run blocking: Known as an athletic pass protector, but is a strong blocker for the Badger run game. Has strong upper and lower body builds despite his height. Plays with leverage against stout defensive ends and tackles on the edge, can get under their pads and churn his legs to move them down or off the line. Why do you think the Jets will be playing their backups? Is is because you think the Jets have no interest in getting a playoff bye-week, or because you think they don't care at all about positive momentum and a possible 2-game losing streak (which would make 4 losses in their last 5 games) going into the playoffs? (Personally, I think the Bills should try giving playing time to some backups - notably Brian Brohm - but I still want them to win.) -

Which one is that? Do tell. Please. FYI - none of those guys was ever an NFL scout... Matt Miller is the owner of New Era Scouting and the operator of MockingtheDraft.com. Miller has been scouting the draft and football players since 1997 at various levels from high school to professional football. Matt has a degree in Business Law from Missouri Southern University and currently works in marketing and development. Jon Dove (Site Director/Director of Scouting/Lead Writer) - When it comes to the NFL Draft Jon is a jack of all trades. Here at NFL Mocks he takes the lead on all scouting related material, NFL related information, and college football news and notes. Jon has been heavily involved with covering the NFL draft for a number of years. Jon has completed a scouting training course run by the national football post’s Wes Bunting. He has written for mockingthedraft.com, midwayillustrated.com, profootballfocus.com, and fantasydc.com. Matt McGuire has been a college football and NFL Draft Analyst for WalterFootball.com since 2007. His mock draft is one of the most popular on the Internet. McGuire writes scouting reports on prospects, projects the Draft, provides NFL Draft theory, and brings a unique mindset to the table. He is employed by Walter Cherepinsky, the owner and founder of WalterFootball.com Matt De Lima (Fantasy Football Writer since 2010) - Matt is a football nut. He is a published sportswriter who contributes to 4for4.com, ThePigskinDoctors.com, Fantasy-Info.com, Examiner.com and many other sites, including FFToolbox. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in English. GO HOKIES! . -

No news there - I've seen every one of those 'puff-pieces' last Spring when they were written (some even earlier) before Carimi's Outland Trophy winning 2010 season. But I am little surprised that you'd discount as 'puff' the remarks of a guy that'll be playing against Carimi in the Rose Bowl (Cory Grant), or a team-mate (Moffitt) that's played alongside Carimi for 4 seasons. BTW - Matt Miller is not a former NFL scout (though his internet site would lead you to believe otherwise). He's an internet blogger, small-time coach, and big-time fan. That's all he is. (In fact, much of what he wrote in the piece you linked looked strangely familiar - I think he may have 'lifted' much of it from other bloggers' ramblings.) Matt McGuire, Jon Dove, and Matt De Lima are even less qualified to render opinions. And here's another news flash for you - any 14-year-old can put that crap up on the 'net (and they often do). Even if those guys actually had the credentials you mistakenly seem to think they possess, are you gullible enough to think that as long as a guy used to be an NFL scout, he must be right? (If so, then I guess Modrak is safe for another 10 years! ) But hey - if you want to take what those guys write and think it's gospel, then at least now I know not to take you very seriously. . -

Please tell me again - why would he have to move to RT??? Because I cannot understand why anyone thinks that this 6' 7" 330-pound extremely athletic monster who will start his 49th game at LT this Saturday (on the best offensive line in college football) would not play his natural position in the NFL In 2009, Wisconsin's left tackle started 13 games, as the Badgers led the Big 10 Conference in scoring and total offense. This year, Carimi started 12 games and Wisconsin once again amassed the most points in the Big 10. But in 2009, Carimi played despite nagging shoulder and knee injuries. On Saturday, a healthy Carimi will trot into the Rose Bowl against TCU as the winner of the Outland Trophy, symbolizing college football's best offensive lineman... TCU defensive tackle Corey Grant sees one reason for Carimi's success. "His size," Grant said. "I've seen a lot of big guys. I've gone against a lot of big guys. But Gabe is by far the tallest, the biggest. He has good footwork. I have yet to see him back down from a challenge." "Look at him; he's a physical freak," Moffitt said as Carimi smiled. "His arms are as long as my legs so I think that helps. But obviously, I know Gabe's work ethic, his discipline, is admirable." Link - Outland Trophy winner Carimi healthier in 2010 -

Maybe some beach-volleyball? A half-pipe and some fellow skateboarders? Clearly, he's a bored young kid - and will be until he's old enough to get into bars! I used to see Patrick Ewing frequently at the video game arcade on M Street in G-Town - maybe downtown needs a Dave & Busters -

Once more, for all the misguided... Winning is good. Losing is bad. When your team takes the field, winning should always be the objective. The Bills will finish 5-11, drafting somewhere in the #8 to #10 position, and take Wisconsin LT Gabe Carimi in round one. (And the sun will still rise in the East, Carimi will be great, the Bills will make the playoffs next season, and all will be well.) -

On Monday nites, Deano, I believe all the bars on Chippewa actually are closed. (Go figure!) BTW, the kid is 18 years old - he was probably looking for a mall, rather than a bar. (Maybe we should put a Bass Pro - or something like that - downtown??? ) Anyway, I opined earlier that the fans would let him know how they felt - and they did... The crowd of 12,750 at HSBC Arena let him know what they felt about his remarks Tuesday in USA's second game of the International Ice Hockey Federation U-20 World Junior Championships...At the beginning of the game when he was introduced, Etem was loudly booed. But that was just the beginning. Every time the Anaheim Ducks prospect touched the puck, he was greeted with more thunderous boos. Link - Etem would like to have his words back In other news, local parking lot owner/operator/a-hole Jim Sandoro is insulting the people of Buffalo in his own unique way... As Buffalo welcomes hockey fans, those who drive find that lots near arena are gougers' paradise -
I'm sure Hugh will compensate her generously for all her ' affection ' - but also think Hef is smart enough to know what an iron-clad pre-nup is.

True, Long Beach, CA is nicer than downtown Buffalo in late December - and, as a beach town, probably more active (at least near the ocean) - but what exactly was this knucklehead expecting on Monday nite, and right after X-mas??? I don't think he'd find too much going on in any city. I'm sure he'll hear it from the fans when he takes the ice. (Looks like he already is, as he deleted the offending ' tweet ') . -
No, that can't be right - Blaire was some crazy witch movie with Elizabeth Montgomery, I think.
-
no - i think Blaine was in ' Facts of Life '
-
I'd go with Brohm, or grab another QB off GB's practice squad - Graham Harrell. Draft Carimi to protect his blind side, and to open holes for Spiller. Draft Lance Kendricks to give Brohm an outlet and to also block for Spiller, and Owen Marecic to protect against the blitz, pick up those 3rd/4th-and-inches, and give Brohm another outlet. 1-Carimi 2-Moch 3-Kendicks 4-Fua 4-Marecic 5-Henery 6-Romeus 7-Tolzien

No. Please no. I cannot deal with a Bills QB named ' Blaine Gabbert '. I don't think anyone could. I think it's a typo - her name was Ringnose.

I had a chance meeting with one at Schoellkopf Field during the Harvard-Cornell game - I was walking out of the lav and past the sinks when he smugly sneered from inside his polyester HARVARD sweatshirt, "At Hahvahd, they teach us to wash our hands after we urinate!" (To which I quickly replied, "At Cornell, they teach us not to piss on our hands.") .
