  1. The Bills may also value more picks. Assuming, for a moment, something that absolutely will not happen - Luck enters this year's draft - and you're Carolina: would YOU trade the #1 pick?
  2. Hopefully, the Bills learned their lesson well this season - namely, the only way to start winning is to lose every game - and we can draft Luck when he graduates in 2012!
  3. FYI... (from Mark Gaughn, Buffalo News) The Bills will get the second pick in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft, which is a coveted position. Because the NFL conducts the second and third rounds of the draft the day after the first round, teams have more time to reassess their draft board and think about trading up toward the top of the second round. Carolina (2-14) finished with the worst record in the league and will pick first. The Bills, Broncos and Bengals all finished at 4-12. The strength of schedule for the 4-12 teams was: Broncos .516, Bills .578, Bengals .582. That's the reason Denver will pick second overall, Buffalo third and Cincinnati fourth. However, teams with the same record rotate their draft order in ensuing rounds. So Buffalo moves ahead of Denver in the second round and into the 34th overall position. Cincinnati picks 35th and Denver 36th. In the third round, Cincinnati goes first among the three picks. The Bills have one extra draft pick -- a fourth-rounder from Seattle via the Marshawn Lynch trade. Link
  4. Haven't seen a good ' MODRAK MUST GO!!!! ' thread in quite a while (at least a couple of days). I think Donahoe had more to do with the 2000-2005 picks than Modrak; likewise, Levy/Jauron with the 2006-7 drafts (BTW, we got a 4th-round pick for Lynch - not a 3rd - and that "BUST" may well emerge once again as a fine RB, even better than his 1000-yard rookie season in 2007 and his 1000-yard Pro Bowl season in 2008). I'm pretty sure Maybin was a Dick Jauron decision, not Modrak. Now tell us again - why does Modrak have to go? Man, it's gonna be a long off-season.
  5. OK - saying (hypothetically, of course) Luck's enters this 2011 draft (he won't) - what if Carolina wants him as badly as you do? How do you trade up, if they don't want to trade down?
  6. Academically, he's in his Junior year and due to graduate next year. Personally, I think Luck's value will only increase after he completes his college career next season. IMO, the only risk to him in his Senior year (academically, that is - football-wise he'll be a red-shirt Junior this Fall) would not be a Jake-Locker-like fall from grace, but a Greg-Romeus-type injury disaster.
  7. Your complete monopoly on wit and virtue, when combined with your near-perfection as a human being, is almost frightening - certainly, few are worthy enter the shadow of your total righteousness .
  8. I he does declare (he won't), I'd give up nothing - I'd be happy if Carolina takes him at #1, so we can grab Mallett.
  9. I think the big question is whether Carolina takes Mallett after Luck announces he's staying at Stanford for his senior year (it almost makes me hope Luck does enter the draft, just to make sure we get Mallett).
  10. Ironic that you should put it that way, BFIR - through my sources ' deep inside One Bills Drive ', I have managed to obtain this secret photo of the Bills new uniforms...
  11. Did you mean if Cam Newton is there in Round 3??? No question at all he'll be there at #3 overall - if he even declares for this year's draft, that is. (Regarding Luck, I guess we can start the " Let's lose every game in 2011' campaign so we can draft Andy Luck and win the Superbowl in 2013 " campaign now ) .
  12. Hope that San Diego game is in December - I could use a warm-weather Bills road trip around that time!
  13. The Laplander people have always gotten short shrift - especially in warm weather cities. Tell me, who more appropriate to coach in Minnesota?
  14. That, of course, paves the way for Mike Leach
  15. Agree 100% - it'd be crazy to throw a rookie into the deep end when you've got Fitz on the roster, even if that rookie is Mallett. Let him learn from Gailey's coaching, and by watching Fitzpatrick for a season or two.
  16. I dunno, Deano - I'm not saying affirmative action has run its course, but fair is fair - I think now they should also have to interview a Polish guy, a Frenchman, an Italian, a Spaniard, a German, a Muslim, an Asian, a Native American, and at least one Laplander...
  17. Byrd spoke all year long of how he wanted to become a better tackler So what would Byrd have to do, to tackle better?
  18. Well I really wanted to Bills to pick Bulaga, but don't know now that I'd make a straight-up trade today. Spiller looked like a brilliant pick in the preseason and showed blazing speed as a return guy early on, but that seemed to fade in later weeks along with an increase in fumbles and bad decisions. I think his rookie experience and an improved offensive line will make a world of difference in Spiller's sophomore season.
  19. Until then, you can continue to get your daily fix of stupidity on TSW .
  20. If that is true, we'll find out when he returns to Stanford and leads them to a national title next season. And - if that is true - get ready for another season of, " We need to lose every game so we can draft Andy Luck! "
  21. Of all the really sucky seasons we've endured, this was one. I'm glad its over.
  22. It must be shocking to those geniuses in College Park that Leach couldn't get kids from the East coast excited about Lubbock, TX
  23. Meh, let the Terps wallow in mediocrity for another decade - Pitt games are a shorter drive for me anyway!
  24. Ryan Mallett - IF he declares for the draft.
