I take it some haven't seen this yet... Former Indianapolis Colts star safety Bob Sanders is scheduled to visit the Buffalo Bills today, a league source told The Buffalo News... Link - Bills will talk to ex-Colts' safety Sanders (Buffalo News)

Saints cut Jeremy Shockey

I've heard of him. Git 'er done, Buddy! -
Which Bills 1st round draft pick had you jumping for JOY?
The Senator replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, great topic! I was thinking OJ (joy) and Tom Ruud (puke) - but the more I thought about it, it may have actually happened in the same draft... 1983 - Tony Hunter (puke) and Jim Kelly (joy) GO BILLSSS!!!! PusLUSZny!!!!! . -

Speaking of comedy, you just provided some of slapstick of your own! Just to set the facts straight, Harrell wasn't released at all, by ANY team, unless you refer to getting cut by Cleveland after a tryout. He asked for his release in Saskatchewan to pursue his dream of playing in the NFL, where he now sports a Superbowl ring is likely about to be promoted from third string QB to Aaron Rogers backup... Where Is Matt Flynn Most Valuable To The Packers?

Well, you're probably right about the Auburn program - I am guilty of hyperbole there - but Newton's as guilty as they come regarding the rest of it. He left Florida because he was about to be expelled, not because of Tebow. (If he stayed, wouldn't he he have been 'the guy' this season anyway?) No one throws a laptop out their dorm window when the campus police come knocking unless they know it's a stolen laptop - he either stole it hmself, or certainly knew it was stolen. Regarding the rest of the scandals... Source: Newton left Florida after cheating scandal Scandal offers no escape for Auburn or Cam Newton
-
True, but Kim Newton only became all that after January 15th, when Luck announced he would stay at Stanford - leaving a huge void of QB-draft-hype that someone had to fill!
-
What I see is a guy who got thrown out of Florida for academic laziness, cheating, and theft, then went on to be a dominant QB for one year in a small-time junior college environment, then enabled his dad to earn a nice bit of $$scratch$$ by choosing Auburn - where a superior program, excellent coaching, and a stellar supporting cast allowed him to shine for one season on real NCAA (Div 1-A FBS) team, after which he instantly abandoned his team and the program and hired a team of agents, lawyers, and PR consultants to enable him to 'cash in' quickly for the maximum financial gain... So what's not to like? Who wouldn't burn a high first round pick and knock over anyone in their way to hand a $50M contract to a kid like that??
-
Thing is, is that Fitz is gonna be our starter this season, probably next season too, and who knows for how long after that - so you have to think about how 'porous' our O-line will be 3 years from now, if that's your main concern about Mallett. I'm not saying we should draft him, but he'd be hard to pass over if he's still there in round 2.
-
I can't think of a QB that Mike Leach doesn't like - I know he likes Ryan Mallett a lot too. Myself, I don't HATE Newton at all. I just think he's been thrust into the 'we-gotta-gush-over-a-QB-some-QB-any-QB...quick-name-a few-QBs-we-can-gush-over' void left by Andy Luck's very predictable decision to finish his education, and I don't think Newton measures up to all the hype he's getting. JMO.

Bills interested in Atogwe
The Senator replied to Frostbelt City's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Look like he'd prefer to stay with the Rams... Atogwe hopes to be back after release from Rams ...but he grew up in Windsor, Ontario - so maybe we've got a shot here in 'lower Canada' -
Never even thought about "grass" being an archaic vernacular expression for cannabis, or 'marijuana' - I just never hear anyone say, "Hey man, wanna smoke some grass?" anymore. Then again, I don't know too many folks that still smoke sweet wheat! No, SJ, I'm The Senator, dammit, and my groan-worthy 'grass-roots' pun used the term only in it's purest political meaning - not as a reference to Aunt Mary, broccoli, cryptonite, devilweed, giggletwig, happy backy, hemp, MaryJane, mountain cabbage, reefer, wacky weed, or even that terrible 1960's pop group...

Only thing that impaired Simpson's brain function is too much blow, not too many blows.
-
No ??? Not even with our 2nd fourth-round pick ???? Well, if you don't like him, you don't like him. I can respect that. I think Wannstache is gonna want Greg Romeus somewhere around then anyway. How 'bout the other Stanford guy I like - the Croatian guy, Owen Marecic, in round 4... And... .
-
There are myriad opinions, my good dank doctor - including those who insist we're better off losing every game this year so we can still draft Luck I'm not high on Newton, and I guess that's pretty obvious. But it's JMO. In the end, Buddy Nix's opinion trumps all others.
-
If I suggested Private Idaho (B-52s), Burning Down the House (Talking Heads), What I Am (Edie Brickell/New Bohenmians), you'd probably say you've already got them... How 'bout - (VERY 1980s )
-
Makes you wonder how Stanford's Owen Marecic, 3.8 GPA bio-engineering major (whom I'd LOVE to see in a Bills uniform), will fare later in life after breaking at least 3 helmets -
-
This was so entirely predictable - Andrew Luck stays in school, and all of a sudden Luck is no longer the ONLY qb that's worth drafting that high. As previously stated, if Newton got hit by a bus tomorrow (God forbid), TSW would be pining for someone else by Tuesday. Fitz is our guy. Draft for a stronger D and O-line. There'll be another QB to fall in love with next year. (Stanford will suck - maybe Luck's stock will even fall a bit.)
-
The World Champion Green Bay Packers did it... Packers going to DD Grassmaster System at Lambeau I wonder if, as taxpayers, we could lobby Chris Collins for real turf? Call it a 'grass-roots' campaign???
-
I'm sure you're right - but wouldn't it be GREAT if, to go along with new uniforms, they put down natural turf??? (Wishful thinking, I know.)
-
OK, HemetJohn - what's your record on draft predictions? Mine is near perfect - wrong every single time! Therefore, since I absolutely do not want the Bills to draft Kim Newton in ANY round, I will make the following prediction: It is an incontrovertible, metaphysical certainty that the Buffalo Bills will draft Cam Newton! GO BILLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!! .

One might think that, but one would be wrong. As Erie County is the entity paying for the installation of the new surface, it must go to public bid - as a gov't entity, all RFPs for projects like these are advertised in the 'Legal Notices' section of the Buffalo News (just like the new Erie County Medical Center buildings, any SUNY construction project, local school districts, etc.). The ad is basically just a notice that there's a huge project out for public bid, give the relevant dates (when bids are due, when & where bid documents can be viewed and/or obtained, etc.) - the obvious purpose of such notice is to ensure a fair an open bid process to as many potential vendors as possible, and to encourage MBE/WBE/VBE participation. The actual bid documents are a package consisting of massive volumes of specifications and blueprints, and are obtained for a fee by the companies interested in bidding on the project, or partnering with a prime contractor and a portion of the overall project. And, of course, in the case of something like this - the RFP requirements are usually written in such a way so as to 'skew' the process toward a particular vendor for whom the Bills may already have indicated their preference - in the case of the last major electrical rewiring, it was Frey Electric (an occasional purchaser of large blocks of tickets for near-sellout games at the blackout deadline.) It would be easier - and preferable to many, I'm sure - if the Bills could just call Davey Nurseries and have them lay some sod.

Bills need to sign Kevin Boothe Reverse the Curse!!!!!

Sad to read that he's in all-health, but I thought McMahon suffered from dementia long before he played for the Bears. I'm not entirely convinced it's football that's now causing his brain to shut down, as it seemed to be flickering between on and off while he was still an active player.
