  1. That scenario, Astro, makes it easy... 1) Gabbert (if he's gone by #3-pick, then Miller) 2) Carimi 3) Marecic 4) Romeus If only it really was that easy... GO BILLSSS!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  2. That's easy (Gabbert), but Peterson isn't that far out of the top 3. Newton in the top 3, OTOH, is completely idiotic - unless, of course, you mean the top 3 on day 2.
  3. I think a lot of us like Watt but not at #3 - and, unfortunately, he won't be there at #34. (But if he is, DO NOT get between Nix and the podium! ) I think we won't take a DE until the fourth round - Greg Romeus, a favorite of The 'Stache at Pitt. JMO. GO BILLSSS!!!! Fear The 'Stache!!!!!
  4. Great article about the Pegula clan's passion for da hockey from the Buffalo Snooze... Passion for hockey and the Sabres runs deep through the Pegula family
  5. Well how 'bout that??? A QB prospect that can't pass, and struggles with his footwork??? Hell yeah, let's draft him and give him $50M!!! Glad to see at least one anonymous scout speak the truth. Newton sucks. I see nothing but a huge bust waiting to happen - all the obvious signs are readily apparent - and I definitely can see him falling out of the first round. Regardless, no way Buddy Nix drafts him. .
  6. I refuse to ever buy the Buffalo Snooze - in large part because of the Idiot Sullivan - but did see the headline linked on the TBD main page... "Bills can't pass up chance to draft Newton" ...so I clicked on it, quickly realized it was Sullivan, and didn't bother reading it. Sullivan's endorsement pretty much puts an end to any chance the Bills will pick Kim Newton. However I can easily imagine, months from now after Newton falls out of round one and is an eventual total NFL bust, the whiney POS Sullivan backtracking and saying something like, " Hey, I never said the Bills should draft Newton - I just wrote that they can't pass up the chance to draft Newton, and I was right about that! "
  7. I would not bet money on that - Tebow was a 2-time 1st team All-American (and 1-time 2nd team) and 3-time 1st team ALL-SEC that led Florida to 2 BCS national titles - while winning the Heisman Trophy, Davey O'Brien Award, Maxwell Award (twice), Manning Award, Campbell Trophy, NCAA QB of the year, AP player of the year AND managing to earn a 3.77 GPA and a college degree in his four years at Florida. Now tell me again, what'd Kim Newton do that puts him on a par with Tebow?
  8. I'm beginning to think Newton will last until day 2 - especially after he got the ' kiss of death ' this morning from one of the least knowledgeable sports writers of all time... Bills can't pass up chance to draft Newton (Jerry Sullivan, Buffalo News)
  9. At this moment, it's ' Von Miller Time ' - but Buddy's been nearly silent about Gabbert, who would be my other choice at the #3 pick. Gotta see how his pro-day goes, I guess... GO BILLSSS!!!! Reverse the Curse!!!!!
  10. I am absolutely ECSTATIC that the Bills have re-signed ' The Senator ' !!! GO BILLSSS!!!! Reverse the Curse!!!!!
  11. I'm not terribly excitable about Whitner one way or the other, but NO WAY can we afford to lose... PosLUSZny!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  12. Couldn't access your link, but read the print version this morning ( yes, some folks still read the printed newspaper ) - great stuff! Here's a better link - Buffalo News - Dave Wannstedt is thrilled to be back in the NFL and reunited with Chan Gailey (Also linked on the TBD main page) Anyway, looks like Wanny will have broad input that goes beyond just inside LBs and defensive schemes... Wannstedt obviously will have a big voice in game planning and has the added duty of inside linebackers coach... "He'll help me evaluate everything," Gailey said. "We'll talk about schedules. We'll talk about thought processes. We'll talk about everything. He's been there before. He'll be a huge help to me with his experience as a head coach and coordinator. He'll be sitting in the evaluations of most every position during the combine." Fear the 'Stache!!!!!
  13. Yes...he's small...but he's slow
  14. Why not just take Blaine Gabbert this year with the pick we have, since Harbaugh liked him even more than Luck and tried to recruit him to Stanford?
  15. People were shocked and pundits made to look foolish when Leinart slipped to #10 in '06 and more recently when Jimmy 'The Emu' Clausen and Colt McCoy slipped to rounds 2 & 3 last year, so I would not be at all surprised if they looked foolish again this year when Kim Newton finally gets picked much later than anyone predicts or expects. It happens every single year. (Pundits looking foolish, that is.) I wouldn't even be totally shocked if Newton slipped to round 2.
  16. But EssEff won't have its choice if the Bills take Gabbert - and if Harbaugh tried to recruit Gabbert at Stanford because he liked Gabbert even better than Luck, then Harbaugh may very well covet Gabbert enough to swap first-round picks. Of course, Gailey and Nix may also covet Gabbert - I guess we just aren't gonna know until April 28th. Until then, I just like saying "Gabbert..." "Gabbert Gabbert Gabbert..."
  17. Good stuff Tony - I read on NFL Draft Scout that Jim Harbaugh tried to recruit Gabbert to Stanford and actually liked him better than Luck, so the 49ers could very well want to trade up for the chance to draft him. Getting the extra early 2nd round pick and SF's 3rd-rounder in 2012 would be fantastic - just don't know that Miller will still be there at #7 but, if it did work our that way, I couldn't imagine a better first-round scenario. Not sold on Stanzi, but like a lot of your other selections very much. Am anxious for April 28th to arrive... GO BILLSSS!!!! Reverse the Curse!!!!!
  18. Ahh...relief... Kim Newton is a HUGE question mark a HUGE risk- especially for the money and length of contract that will be committed to whomever the Bills pick in the first round. Personally, I think Newton will turn out to be a total bust and one of the biggest a-holes of this draft, but that's JMO. The Bills will pick either Blaine Gabbert or Von Miller in round one - both of whom will excel in the NFL, and neither of whom will cause Bills fans more pain (except, of course, when we play against whichever one ends up elsewhere).
  19. Can someone please distill this post into something more cogent, and less painful to read?
  20. Gabbert it is, then.
  21. Gabbert it is, then!
  22. That's the beautiful thing about this new 3-day draft format - having a full evening to consider everything that happened on round one and which players unexpectedly slipped to round 2. It'd be great to have picks #34 & #38, with a full overnite to regroup before making those selections.
  23. While I still want Von Miller in round one, all the talk about Newton makes me think Buddy & Chan are fixin' to make Blaine Gabbert our 'franchise QB' for the next 10-12 years.
  24. I like getting the trade, but not to take Ponder at #38 - I think he'll be there for us at #68. (The other thing to consider is Nix and Gailey might want Gabbert themselves at #3.)
  25. For anyone who pines for - and insists we need to draft - a 'franchise QB' in round one (and I'm not among them), your "nightmare scenario" is probably the best thing that could happen to the Bills...Gabbert will be a far better NFL QB than Kim Newton. I don't think we need to draft a QB early - but if we do, I hope it's Gabbert and not Newton.
