  1. I would, except I think he'll be gone by the time we pick. But if he's not, our first-round pick should most definitely be... Blaine Gabbert
  2. I've been projecting the same thing for weeks now. The answer is still no - avoid Kim Newton like the plague, which he will closely resemble on whichever team is dumb enough to draft him.
  3. Hell no! Why would we ever do something like that, when Fitz is 3 years younger and every bit as good if not better?
  4. Ryan Mallett can throw Lee Evans 70 yards. If he's still there when we pick in round 3, we grab him (unless, of course, we've already taken Gabbert).
  5. He should have said, "If you get hit BY a Volvo..."
  6. Spot-on, Bill. Mallett could throw from Orchard Park to the Peace Bridge, in a blizzard! I would not take him at #3-overall - but if Gabbert's gone and Mallet's still there when we pick at #34, I do hope we grab him.
  7. There's a lot to be intrigued about with Gabbert - I was intrigued to learn that Harbaugh tried to recruit him to Stanford because he liked him even better than Luck. He also seems like a level-headed, well-grounded guy and seems - at this young age - to already handle to media very well... But no sense in getting too excited unless he's still there at #3. Gabbert's more a guy, I think, that looks to be a first-year starter, whereas here in Buffalo we know Fitz is going to start for the next year or two while we groom a young QB. That's why I like your thinking on Mallett in round 2 - I think Nix has been way too quiet about Mallett in the hopes that we can take Von Miller at #3 and come back for Mallett on day 2... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! Yeah, that sounds about right - they'll probably get Carimi too... GOD, I HATE THOSE NE* BASTARDS!!!!
  8. I've moved around a bit in my preferences too, mostly because I didn't anticipate Mallett's stock plummeting like it has and because I thought we'd finish the season better and pick more like #8-10. Picking at #3 has me in a quandary - there's no one that 'jumps off the board' to make me want them more than I want Von Miller, with the possible exception of Gabbert, whom I expect will go to the Panthers. Hoping either Carimi and/or Watt somehow fall out of round one - that would make the #34 pick a lot easier, IMO. (The only question would be which Badger to pick!) It'll all be over in 7 weeks - then the real whining can begin! GO BILLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!!
  9. Damn! Buddy, sleepin' again.... Our FO sucks! ( There...now no one else needs to say it )
  10. So trade away potentially good draft picks on the outside chances that 1) Our trade partner will suck and end up with a high enough pick to give us our choice of any player we want (assuming that would be Andy Luck); 2) That Luck is not a 'flash-in-the-pan' and will continue to excel (in a relatively weak conference) without last seasons supporting cast of seniors; 3) Some career-ending injury (God-forbid) won't befall the kid, leaving the Bills with nothing but their dicks in their hands, when they could have used the high draft picks to add quality players this coming season. Second dumbest idea I've ever read on TSW, only surpassed by the idiots that insisted our best strategy is to lose every game in order to guarantee a chance to draft the sophomore from Stanford. The very notion that anyone still has Andy Luck on the brain, in the hopes of maybe beginning to improve two years from now rather than this season, is extremely puzzling to me. BTW, welcome to the board! EDIT: Regarding your thoughts on Kim Newton, I agree with you completely that the Bills should avoid him like 'the plague' - don't quite understand, though, why you feel sorry for the the guy just because of his continual proclivity to say stupid things, make poor decisions, and behave badly.
  11. I wonder there were any sightings of... you know who
  12. I'm sure they interviewed and got a good look at Carimi/Moffit/Jordan all week at the Senior Bowl.
  13. Carimi tossed Heyward around pretty easily this past season, but I totally agree with you on Von Miller - especially since I think Gabbert will go to the Panthers anyway. I think Wannstache will push for Pitt DE Greg Romeus in round 4 - if the doctors pronounce him well, Romeus could be the steal of the draft if we get him in the mid-rounds.
  14. You can never have enough franchise QBs...Newton, Gabbert, Mallett, Ponder, Locker, Kaepernick, McElroy... I'm sure we have some posters who would take QBs in every round, then argue that we still need to lose every game so we can also draft Andy Luck
  15. My dream would be... 1) Blaine Gabbert (alternatively, Von Miller) 2) Gabe Carimi It's nice to dream. 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!!
  16. And we'd all love to play with them...
  17. While we're at it, we should sign Betty White http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1Sv_z9jm8A
  18. The lucky dog... I'll say this for Vick - he's one smart puppy!
  19. You're " preachin' to the choir ", my friend - though some will remain in stubborn denial, and won't believe it until after it has already happened. OTOH, you guys in GB will have a standout QB in Graham Harrell for years to come.
  20. For me, not well, since he's not wearing a Bills uniform - if Nix has more brains than the average Longhorn, he'll do everything he can to change that. But in Green Bay, GH is wearing a Superbowl ring so I'd say he's working out just fine for them. Thanks for asking! GO GRAHAM!!!!!
  21. Just goes to show how risky a proposition drafting a QB can be - and how wrong most of the pundits usually are, as some of them had Brohm pegged as the #1-overall pick had he entered the 2007 draft.
  22. this There's some real nonsense being spewed in that 'Miller Rumblings' thread - I'd say it's about 90% certain Von Miller will be our pick on day one, and folks will LOVE him as the NFL defensive rookie of the year. (10% chance we take Blaine Gabbert, only because I'm pretty sure the Panthers will take Gabbert with the #1-pick.)
  23. Then you'll be worried all night - Newton will still be available on day 2 .
