  1. I hope you're right on both counts! (6' 7" - 245 lb. QBs with cannon arms do not come around often, and the Bills have the luxury to groom Mallett for 2-3 years behind Fitz. Unless Belicheat trades the #33-pick to Jerry Jones, I think Mallett becomes a Buffalo Bill tonite.)
  2. I'd be very happy w/Mallett at #34 - maybe Moffitt in round 3?
  3. I believe Mallett is the highest-rated player not taken in round one and, unless Belicheat trades the #33-pick to a team desperate for a QB, also fills the Bills' "QB-of-the-future" need. Not saying we will - or should - take Mallett, but I think Nix will think hard about it. (I just hope we don't take the injured, inexperienced, underclassman TE from Notre Dame - Kyle Rudolph - I keep thinking back to Tony Hunter...uuughhhh!!! )
  4. I would try to get Carolina's 1st round pick in next year's (2012) draft - their selection of Cam Newton will likely ensure their position as cellar-dwellers for years to come, along with the #1-overall pick (Andrew Luck?) next April.
  5. I see Buddy taking the QB from Arkansas - he may be an immobile Mallett-head, but has a canon for an arm and can throw Lee Evans all the way from Orchard Park to the Peace Bridge - in a blizzard. His arm is that strong.
  6. Not if we heed the prescient geniuses suggesting we lose every game so we can draft Andy ourselves
  7. The Bills should trade all 9 of their picks to Carolina for the # 1 over-all pick so they can draft Andrew Luck.
  8. Well it's apparently quite simple, if you heed the...er...wisdom ( ) of a few terribly confused (but well-intentioned, I'm sure) TBD members - all we need to do is deliberately lose every game. Easy enough - and makes prefect sense, no?
  9. And given that Luck is going into this season as a red-shirt junior with still another 2 years of NCAA eligibility, what is to say he won't decide to remain at Stanford after this season and play out his senior year of eligibility while earning his Masters degree? Do you have a 'long shot scenario' for that contingency too, so we can draft him in 2013 if necessary? What if he decides to defer his NFL dreams until he earns a PhD - you must have a plan for how can we still get him in 2015, yes?
  10. There was an article? And I'm sure she's just as nice and caring and as wonderful as ALL of our Jills!
  11. Or so I thought, until I opened my eyes fully and read it again... Hornell grad reaches NFL as cheerleader GO JILLSSS!!! Fear The 'Stache!!!!!
  12. I want Gabbert too, but - this being the 'Frostbelt' - Ryan Mallett could throw Lee Evans from Lackawanna to the Peace Bridge in a blizzard!
  13. No real surprise there, since clearly he spent no time in the classrooms or the libraries
  14. It would be, if someone actually believed it to be true based purely on skin pigmentation. Here are some more interesting 'myths' regarding race and how it affects athleticism... White Men Can't Jump
  15. How can it be anything but the Samoas...
  16. Um... " If the Bills don't have a solid conviction on a quarterback in six weeks, maybe they should consider one of those pass rushers or someone who can stop enemy runners. " ...so Larry Felser opining that - ' unless the Bills are really sure about a player, maybe they should consider drafting a different player instead ' - is a " must read " ??? .
  17. No, I'm not joking at all. What film footage do you suppose Jim Harbaugh was looking at that made him like Gabbert better than Andy Luck?
  18. Kemp ran a very effective supply-side style of offense I miss the guy.
  19. Fantastic article - thanks! I don't see a whole lot of concern about Gabbert's footwork, nor the style of offense he ran at Mizzou, and he hasn't always played from the shotgun either... I'm pretty sure if the Bills don't take him, the 49ers will... While coaching at Stanford, Jim Harbaugh tried to recruit Gabbert, who was considered the best pro-style quarterback coming out of high school at the time. Apparently, he actually does have a decent amount of experience and skill under center. (link) GABBERT
  20. Not that it matters (the only opinions that count are the guys actually making the picks), but here's what Mayock said post-combine... Mayock sees four quarterbacks with first-round ability: Gabbert, Auburn’s Cam Newton, Washington’s Jake Locker and Arkansas’ Ryan Mallet, but Gabbert is the only one he viewed as a top-10 pick coming out of the combine...A Cincinnati writer asked Mayock if it would be a reach to take Gabbert at No. 4. Mayock said he’s worthy of the first overall pick. “If I’m telling you he’s a top-10 pick, I’m willing to put my butt on the line and say he’s a top-one pick,” Mayock said. “I mean one’s part of 10. Bottom line to me, if I’m telling you a kid’s a top-10 pick, I believe in Blaine Gabbert. And you know me, and you know my belief about franchise quarterbacks. They trump every other need. If you don’t have those guys, you don’t win in this league. You just don’t.” (Link-Mayock on Blaine Gabbert: ‘He’s a top-one pick’) Kim Newton, OTOH, I can easily falling out of round one. GABBERT GABBERT GABBERT
  21. Tell that to Mike Mayock... Mayock sees four quarterbacks with first-round ability: Gabbert, Auburn’s Cam Newton, Washington’s Jake Locker and Arkansas’ Ryan Mallet, but Gabbert is the only one he viewed as a top-10 pick coming out of the combine...“If I’m telling you he’s a top-10 pick, I’m willing to put my butt on the line and say he’s a top-one pick,” Mayock said. Link-Mayock on Blaine Gabbert: ‘He’s a top-one pick’ Well, actually, someone did know who Gabbert was before Luck didn't declare - Luck's coach, Jim Harbaugh... While coaching at Stanford, Jim Harbaugh tried to recruit Gabbert, who was considered the best pro-style quarterback coming out of high school at the time. Apparently, he actually does have a decent amount of experience and skill under center. (link) Word is that Harbaugh actually wanted Gabbert over Luck, liking Blaine even more than he liked Andy. Your comments regarding Blaine Gabbert are ludicrous. You need to clear your head of your Kim Newton love - it's making you delusional. .
  22. Ah yes, the almighty Übermensch QB Kim Newton led powerhouse Blinn Junior College to a national championship , while along the way putting great fear and trepidation in the likes of fellow college football powerhouses such as Trinity Valley Community College, Kilgore College, Tyler Junior College, etc... Welcome To Blinn Junior College
