JMO, but the thing about CJ is that, if the o-line starts creating holes for him to run through (and if he starts hitting them), his explosive speed makes him impossible to catch in the open field. If that starts happening, I can easily see CJ getting 1500 or more yards rushing - even as a healthy Fred Jackson gets 1000 yards of his own!

Would You Take 8-8 or 3-13 and the #1 Pick in '12?

That's one loser's opinion. As someone who chooses not to walk around with a big "L" on my forehead, however, I'll proffer that two less "meaningless wins" in December might have landed the Bills one-year wonder, recidivist thug, arrogant a-hole, and future flop - Cam Newton - rather than model-citizen and future HOF defensive lineman Marcell Dareus. The are no 'meaningless wins' - except in the minds of losers. GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! -

Now you're 'gettin it', EssJayBeeEff! Losing is for...well...losers! Just think...any team could have gone 19 and 0 and still signed... Graham Harrell Somehow I just don't think that's gonna help young Andy much with this... Sep. 3 vs. San Jose State Sep. 10 at Duke Sep. 17 at Arizona Oct. 1 vs. UCLA Oct. 8 vs. Colorado Oct. 15 at Washington State Oct. 22 vs. Washington Oct. 29 at USC Nov. 5 at Oregon State Nov. 12 vs. Oregon Nov. 19 vs. California Nov. 26 vs. Notre Dame (In addition to Harbaugh and the key losses on offense, they lost their defensive coordinator and their defensive 'front seven' is also decimated.) -

Take a quick look at QBs drafted in the last 10 years and tell me which one(s) you think are worth an 0-16 season... link Luck has lost his head coach, his top 2 WRs, 3 starting offensive linemen, and FB Owen Marecic - he'll drop in value this season as Stanford falls in the PAC 12 standings. Not saying he won't be a great NFL QB some day, but only an idiot would say "Yeah, let's lose however many we need to lose - even if it means 0-16 - just to get Andy Luck!!!" An early look at the QBs in the 2012 draft
The Senator replied to Tortured Soul's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wes Bunting went to Elizabethtown College from 2006-2009 for 'Mass Communication & Professional Writing', so I'd say he's closer to about 23 or 24. Still, he can't have seen too many great QB prospects, since he claims to have been "monitoring the college football scene" only since 2002 (when he was about 14?)... Wes Bunting Still, if you look at the QB's drafted since 2002 - link - maybe Luck IS the best looking QB prospect that Bunting has seen since 2002!!! (Not too many 'greats' jump out at me from that link.) Bunting was right on in picking Gabe Carimi to go to the Bears at the #29 spot a month before the draft, but also said Ryan Mallett was a "lock" to go in round one - so, just like most of even the best-informed posters on TSW, Bunting's opinions are 'hit and miss'. Let's see how in love folks are with Andy Luck this season - if Luck comes even close to his performance last year after losing... 1) 3 starting offensive lineman 2) his top 2 WRs 3) his head coach 4) Owen Marecic ...the I'll be his biggest champion in the 2012 draft. (Of course, Luck won't look nearly as good in 2011 as he did in 2010 - but I might still be in favor of taking him if it looks like we need a QB...and if Landry Jones is already gone.) . -
Nothing quite like a mid-December Bills road game in sunny San Diego to take one's mind off WNY's wild winter weather! (Then come back to a BuffTown blizzard the following weekend and watch the Bills annihilate Miami in Orchard Park!) The Senator will be there, hanging out on Mission Beach, golfing in La Jolla, and tanning his fat at The Del... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!

To my knowledge it has never happened, nor it that what happened with Luck & Kaepernick during this strange off-season. Harbaugh had nothing to do with it. Kaepernick and Luck are acquainted with each other from the Manning Passing Camp in 2010 and have become friendly and stayed in touch thru texting and phone calls. Given that Kapernick want to compete with Alex Smith for the 49ers starting job but knows nothing of Harbaugh's West Coast offense, he called his buddy Andy Luck, who knows Harbaugh's offense better than anyone. Smart move by a smart kid, but enough with the Andy Luck Worship Society already

College QB's to watch in 2011 for next year's draft...
The Senator replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am most certainly saying Landry Jones is better than Andy Luck, and you will too - after Jones sets a slew of NCAA records and the Sooners go undefeated as this season's BCS champions! (Though it would have been nice to see the frail Luck face Jones head-on in Stanford's 2009 Sun Bowl loss to Oklahoma.) I am not sure why you think Oklahoma has more recruiting power than Stanford - SU is an excellent school with a top-notch program, and I would think that Jim Harbaugh had a nice budget and a far easier job luring kids to beautiful Palo Alto than Bob Stoops has convincing kids to spend the next 4-5 years in Norman, OK! -

College QB's to watch in 2011 for next year's draft...
The Senator replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
See I think if we DO get the #1 pick, then I'll take Landry! (Easily the best QB of the 2012 NFL draft.) But it won't happen - Landry Jones will certainly declare for the 2012 draft at the end of his junior season (after he & Oklahoma set all kinds of NCAA records on their way to the BCS title), but the Bills will also have a far better season than anyone anticipates - we might be able to trade-up to draft Luck mid-round, otherwise Buffalo will be drafting in the bottom third of round one. GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! . -

The Senator replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally, I'm hoping that 'somebody else' will be Ryan Fitzpatrick! Oklahoma's Landry Jones will be the object of TSW's next annual college-QB love affair, as the Sooners win the NCAA BCS title. Luck will fall in stature as Stanford founders, and quite possibly may even be available for the Bills when we draft in the bottom third of round one in 2012. 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! The Senator gave up TSW for Lent! I actually stayed away from 'the board' from Fat Tuesday thru Day One of the draft, mainly because of threads like this one. No one really has much of anything to talk about unless/until something happens with the CBA and we know what's going on w/free agency, draftee contracts, OTAs, rookie mini-camps, etc. So, given a complete lack of anything interesting to discuss, we see a bunch of absolutely retarded threads like, "What would you give up to get Andy Luck in 2012?" or "How bad will the Bills suck this season?" (While we're at it, why don't we just decide right now which coaches we need to fire for their dismal performance in the season that hasn't begun? ) IMO, it's asinine to talk about who we should want/take in the 2012 draft the day after the 2011 draft just ended, or what our W-L record will be before a single down is played or we even get a look at the Bills' final roster (along with the rosters of our opponents). That said, I will offer my own succinct thoughts on the 2011 Buffalo Bills season... 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! 'Fear the 'stache'!!!!! . -

Pick by Pick review of Bills Draft
The Senator replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Excellent stuff, EssJayBeeEff - thanks! The 2011 draft, Buddy Nix's second as Bills GM, certainly gives this Bills fan reason for renewed optimism. I also thought Buddy's first draft as Bills GM was OK, despite the somewhat less-than-expected rookie-season performance of C.J. Spiller and the season-ending injuries to 4th-round WR Marcus Easley and 6th-round ILB Danny Batten. We'll be able assess the 2010 draft much better this year - if Easley & Batten make the grade and C.J. has a breakout sophomore season, it'll make for excellent back-to-back drafts by Nix & Co. Based on what Nix accomplished in San Diego... "Nix's job with the Chargers was to oversee both pro and college scouting and to be one of the main decision makers in each NFL Draft. Nix was a major reason the Chargers turned around from a losing football team to a rebuilt, winning team. In 2004, three players Nix drafted were selected to the 2005 Pro Bowl. In 2005, six players Nix drafted were selected to the 2006 Pro Bowl. In 2006, eleven players Nix drafted were selected to the 2007 Pro Bowl. In 2007, eight players Nix drafted were selected to the 2008 Pro Bowl. The Chargers won four out of the last five AFC West titles with Nix as Assistant GM and Director of Player Personnel, in charge of college scouting and instrumental to the decision making process of their NFL drafts." ...Bills fans should be very excited about this and future seasons! GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! .
