  1. Wow, that's one nasty fall! All I can say is, the scumbag is just lucky those Marines were there to help him out until the ambulance arrived.
  2. I have to admit, that made me a bit misty. The ol' place never looked so great! (Truly one of the most beautiful college campuses on the planet.) Tune in ESPN2 tomorrow at noon for... Link - #2 Cornell Men's Lacrosse Seeks Revenge vs. #10 Virginia - Final Four Trip on the Line GO BIG RED!!!!!
  3. ...he dated Wilma Flintstone!
  4. That is a very well produced video - reminds me of those old Ronald Reagan 'It's morning in America' campaign commercials, especially with the narrator's 'Hal Riney-like' voice-over. (It's much better than I thought the campaign would be when I first heard the slogan was going to be "Buffalo, for real." )
  5. ...when God said, "Let there be light!", Ralph flipped on the switch!!!
  6. ...when he was in school, there was no 'History' class
  7. ...when he orders a 3-minute egg, they ask for the money up front
  8. It'd be a nice replacement for that vast wasteland along Route 5 that will otherwise remain a vacant, contaminated eyesore for the remainder of this century...
  9. Not the current faciilty - no way DT puts his moniker on that ol' thing! It'd have to be a brand spankin' new, over-the-top, super-opulent, state-of-the-art facility, probably at water's edge, with condos, a golf course, maybe a shopping mall, outdoor amusement park, and other attractions. That would be 'The Donald'. Buffalo's 'Trump Stadium' would probably look something like...
  10. Exactly. If we don't give up anything, he's practically worthless
  11. Morbid bastard that I am, I'm reminded of an old Beatle's verse... And my advice to those who die, Declare the pennies on your eyes, 'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman, And you're working for no one but me. (Hey, it was a great song - Taxman - off of their Revolver album!) OK, sorry...back to thread...
  12. Funny stuff, though Cutler does not look amused...
  13. Nothing overtly, at least nothing that I'm aware of, but who knows? I think a guy who helped found a competing pro football league and was a team owner probably still has an interest in the game, yeah. (Just like Ralph Wilson and the 'League of Fools' owners that founded the AFL in 1959.) Certainly, from this video of him hangin' with Cheatriettes* owner Bob* Kraft*, Trump is still a huge fan of the game... (Oh...and check out the hair...you're probably right about needing that dome! )
  14. I don't know about the casino part (I think the NFL and fellow owners might frown on that, plus The Donald's record in the casino business isn't very inspiring, not to mention that it would take an act of the NYS legislature and the governor's approval to legalize casino-style gaming), but I do agree with your other points and also have thought for some time that Trump was one of Jim Kelly's 'mystery investors'.
  15. Sounds like just what The BuffTown needs, actually...someone like 'The Donald' to come barging in like the proverbial 'bull in a china shop', weasel some long-dormant prime waterfront land (that would otherwise remain dormant for another 50 years) away from the NFTA, and get a bunch of out-of-State investors to finance our new dome! (And he can borrow Jimmy Johnson's hairspray 'til the dome is finished.) You mean like owning a pro football team in the past, or signing some guy named Doug Flutie and some other bloke named Jim Kelly to his team? I'm not sure
  16. And he ain't so bad against the pass either! Gotta love any guy that takes out a Longhorn... Dareus first arrived on the national scene with a jarring hit that knocked Texas QB Colt McCoy out of the 2009 national championship game. But I really really admire the young man's character... It's easy to dismiss underclassmen who declare for the NFL Draft and cite helping their families as a major factor in their decision to leave school early. But for Dareus, providing for his family is an enviable goal. His father died when he was six, leaving his mother to raise seven children. Dareus even stayed with his high school coach and godfather, Lester Reasor, for a while when things were really difficult and lived with a sponsor family in college. He knows an NFL paycheck will be an enormous help to his family, especially after his mother passed away last May. "We're all struggling in certain ways," Dareus said of his family, which includes two brothers now living in California. "(An NFL paycheck) will be a big benefit to help my brothers and sisters to the point we can do something in life." The NFL has been a dream of Dareus' since he used to play on the swings in fifth grade and people took notice of his size and said he should play football. "I didn't have the money for it, but we played and we had a good time," Dareus said. "I started watching Warren Sapp, what he did and I'm like, 'Why can't I do that?' So I pushed myself to do what he did." (link to rest of article) If comparisons to his idol Warren Sapp hold true, it's gonna be a fun time to be a Bills fan... GO BILLSSS!!!! Reverse the Curse!!!!!
  17. Yes, and no one's going to sacrifice a draft pick for Palmer with 4 years and $53M remaining on his current contract - especially since he's been so vocal about never playing for the Bengals again! JMO, but I think the Bengals will be forced to either outright release him or call his 'bluff' about retirement, neither of which gets them anything in return. (Alternatively, I guess they could try to trade him - but I'd think he would have to be willing to renegotiate that 4-year $53M contract, no?)
  18. Let's not forget #1-overall pick Drew Bledsoe, benched for 6th round (#199 overall) Tom Brady* And this season will be even better - as it will be his second under Gailey, the WR corps, running game, and O-line should be vastly improved, and it'll be the first time he'll have been prepared as the starting QB from the outset of OTAs right thru camp and preseason. Can't disagree with that at all, though we both may change our minds if Fitz has an All Pro season - just doesn't make much sense to draft a QB if Nix & Co. don't think he's 'the right one'... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  19. Probably The Benchwarmers (or anything with Rob Schneider)
  20. I believe so... link
  21. Loved her on The Joe Schmo Show
  22. Whoever he is, he apparently resembles a vehicle that Hairston wants to buy.
  23. I met George 'The Animal' Steele at a convention in Portland, several years ago. While I sometimes confuse Portland, ME with the more upscale Portsmouth, NH, I have nothing against Portland. My point was simply that the Sabres have known the advantage of having their AHL farm team an hour away ever since the Knox family bought the Amerks in 1979 and lasting until the dual-affiliation crap with Tampa Bay started in 2005. That's all.
  24. Gotta love Pegula - wants his farm team an hour down the NYS Thruway, not in freakin' Portland, ME!!!
  25. I know Stevie has a strange 'do, but am unfamiliar with his rapping - I was referring to... Mayhem Maybin
