  1. So, Ken, that would have been the old 1946-49 AAFC Buffalo Bills, no? These guys???
  2. We will win both regular season games against the Cheatriettes*. In fact, I am picking NE* to finish 3rd in the AFC East this season, behind Buffalo and New Jersey... 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! Fear the 'stache!!!!! .
  3. "The NFL and its players are making progress in labor negotiations being held Tuesday at an undisclosed location in the Washington area." (In other words, they are all at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda for the US Open )
  4. I don't know that she bore any resemblance to the lovely Carmen Luvana, but apocrypha has it that a Buffalonian was responsible for Flag Day... Sarah Hinson
  5. Don't know if Fr. Sturm ever threw Tim down the stairs or smacked him in the head with his Latin book, but I'm sure TR has heard the words, "Russert, you have JUG!" It's so refreshing to read, in Big Russ & Me, how fondly Tim recalls growing up in Buffalo - even the disciplinary experiences at CHS. It seem that, for Russert, virtually every life experience became a lesson on how to live and succeed. Here's to fondly remembering one of The BuffTown's greatest ambassadors... Tim Russert: Sharing Buffalo with America As TR often finished... GO BILLSSS!!!!
  6. Does it matter? I'd be hard-pressed to think of a better mentor for an aspiring young journalist than Luke's father.
  7. In *Belicheat's case, I'd have to credit the SONY Camcorder.
  8. It's gotta be getting to the point that it's less expensive to ship your bags to your destination, no? (Probably more likely that they'll actually be there when you arrive, as well.)
  9. Have been seeing more of Luke Russert on NBC lately, first with the Charlie Rangel confrontation, now with 'Weiner-Gate' Young Luke seems to be 'coming of age', and reminds me of his father with his hard-hitting, pointed, but always fair questions, and a relentless refusal to back down.
  10. I stand corrected. After reading Ms. Rijcken's Linked-In profile, I'd have to agree with you - it was more likely that it was the cop who was 'pulled over' by her... Jasmijn Rijcken
  11. Well, that's plausible - certainly she got publicity - but you think she made up the whole story, and the NY Daily News just went ahead and printed it? (It sounds as if the deputy commissioner agrees with you.) Personally, I still think the officer was trying to get her to throw her bike in the trunk and take a ride with him
  12. Sounds to me like the officer was just tryin' to boff her... "I thought he was joking around but he got angry and asked me for ID." Rijcken, 31, was not given a ticket during the May 3 incident, and did not get the officer's name, but was left feeling baffled. "I didn't even think for one second that my outfit could be harmful or disturbing," she said.
  13. I think we'd have to see pictures of your wife, and her sister.
  14. Always wear clean underwear.
  15. Yeah but if RW hadn't met with Seattle city officials back in 1970 and threatened to move the team to Seattle unless he got a new stadium, the Bills would either still be playing on Jefferson & Best or - more likely - would have moved elsewhere. (Really no different at all than Kraft's Hartford machinations - just that, as usual, RW was years ahead of his time.)
  16. Oh, and don't forget - when you walk at night, wear white.
  17. Also - after eating, wait 45 minutes before swimming.
  18. "Reasonable firing???" Not sure I can agree with that, Doc. Guy rushes to the aid of two fellow officers shot by a crazed lunatic also accused of shooting a 3-year-old girl, her grandfather, and another man last Halloween in San Francisco? The guy should get a raise. WTF is wrong with Rice????? On a side note, one of my favorite lines about Rice is from one of my favorite JFK speeches (the 'We choose to go to the moon' speech, delivered at Rice on 9/12/1962). JFK, referring to seemingly insurmountable challenges... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-KbQTnIDbQ
  19. I have no problem with bikers - it's just that the totality of the lycra/spandex padded pants, the Liberace-Gay jerseys, and the 'aerodynamic' helmets makes them look so ridiculous.
  20. Thanks, BeerSphere, but no need. I realize they're trying to step on my toes. Someone has to be mature about this. I'll just walk away, smugly knowing how much money I save on socks. (God has His own way of meting out punishment - they are far more likely to sprain an ankle, blow out a knee, or get bit by a rattlesnake.)
  21. OK, that does it! Now I'm hopping mad!!!
  22. Don't know what the guy's answer was to Jobs question but, whatever it was, Jobs response to it - as a CEO - seems a perfectly logical retort.
