Couldn't agree with you more, Faustus - from early on, I was extremely high on Mallet, a giant Sasquatch of a QB with a rocket arm that could launch Roscoe Parrish from Orchard Park to the Peace Bridge in a January blizzard. Knowing that Fitz was going to start this season and probably next, and that we could build an o-line for Mallet in those 2 drafts, I would definitely have taken Mallet in round 2; passing on him in round 3 was beyond dumb. But hey, we got Kelvin Sheppard - who was projected to go in rounds 4-5. C'est la vie - another wasted opportunity

Japanese Tourist Falls in Niagara Falls
The Senator replied to EndZoneCrew's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Actually, just since 1960 at least 3 people - including a 7-year-old boy - have gone over and lived to tell... Link - Man survives Niagara Falls plunge Then, there was this guy just a few years back... -
Yes we have already been enjoying these tasty treats here in WNY... Erie County Fair: Donut Burger Might as well just put another clothespin on your aorta.

Wow, that's way more than her dad made off getting rid of OJ's bloody clothes and murder weapon.

Does Luck play baseball? If not, his only leverage would be to stay at 'The Farm' another year and earn his Masters. (All the Luck nonsense is premature anyway - Landry Jones will be the coveted QB after the Sooners go undefeated and win the BCS title.)

'He is the most popular guy in town, beloved and flawless, a magic pill who could solve everything if only the coach would just come to his senses...' (Apparently, in Buffalo, it's not just our backup QB that's the most poplar guy in town - it's ANY backup QB ) '...And then the No. 2 quarterback enters a game and takes a sack or throws a pick or fires a pass over an open receiver's head and he's a bum, just like the guy he replaced in the lineup.' (Link - The life of a backup quarterback) Fitz is our guy this season. Fix the o-line - there are still unsigned FA guards out OTs out there.

Another year, another bad offensive line
The Senator replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At OT, Jamal Brown was available - as were Willie Colon, Doug Free, Matt Light, and others. Bryant McKinnie, Nick Kaczur, Mario Henderson, Max Starks, Flozell Adams, Mark Tauscher and Langston Walker are all still available. Still available at guard are Brian Waters (5X Pro Bowl), Shawn Andrews (3X Pro Bowl), Leonard Davis (3X Pro Bowl), Vince Manuwai, et al. Not saying that all of these guys would be an upgrade but, after last nite, it's hard to think that at least one or two would not be. GO BILLSSS!!!! . -
I was worried sick watching him lay there and then seeing him completely immobilized, but hopeful when I saw his fingers moving slightly just before the cart disappeared into the tunnel. Prayers answered.

THANK GOD!!!!

Again, OTs Bryant McKinnie, Nick Kaczur, Mario Henderson, Max Starks, Flozell Adams, Mark Tauscher and Langston Walker are still available (among others). So is 5X Pro Bowl guard Brian Waters, and there'll be others after the cutdown dates. If our OL looks as bad against J-ville next week as they did tonite, maybe Buddy needs to start dialing. -
Please express how you feel about tonight

Lot o' whiners out here tonite... I am old enough to remember a Bills team that went 0-4 in the preseason, then went on to play in the Superbowl. -

Von Miller gets torched...repeatedly... Marcel Dareus, aiming to make the Broncos rue the day they passed him over for Miller, knocks out Kyle Orton, Tim Tebow, AND Brady Quinn for the remainder of the 2011 season... BuffTown Bills 35 Denver Broncos 0 GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! -
It's official... MIAMI (AP) - Cam Newton threw a long desperation pass that fell incomplete on the final play of the first half Friday night, and that's the closest he came to reaching the end zone. The top pick of the NFL draft was shut out in his first exhibition-game start, and Newton's Carolina Panthers lost to the Miami Dolphins 20-10. (link) ...Newton's a bust.

JMO, but I don't think any team will burn even a 7th round pick on him. If anything, he'll be signed as an UDFA. Again, JMO.

Merriman's out... Sitting out for the Bills will be linebacker Shawne Merriman and receiver Roscoe Parrish. Several players missed practice Thursday due to minor injuries and are not expected to suit up: receiver Craig Davis, linebackers Kelvin Sheppard and Chris White, tackle Chris Hairston, cornerback Justin Rogers and tight end Shawn Nelson. (link) Gailey says its just a precaution - he'd (Merriman) play if it was a regular season game.
