  1. Shame on you, PTR...bad-mouthing Big Mike...while wearing his jersey...
  2. On a somewhat more serious note, I do love the idea of Big Mike occasionally carrying the ball on 1st and goal from the 1, a la William 'The Refrigerator' Perry
  3. Makes sense, actually, if you're over 30 - take half the season off, wait for someone to get hurt, go to a team in a bind offering a decent buck for a few months work. (Still think the Bills could use both a little more OL depth and some veteran leadership before the season starts, though. JMO.)
  4. There's nothing wrong with [insert any Bills issue here] that couldn't be fixed by a guy like, oh, say... Mike Leach
  5. Please...is that you, Crayonz? .
  6. Ruvell Martin? (Brad Smith goes to #3 on the QB depth chart, DB/QB Josh Nesbitt goes to practice squad, Levi Brown just goes.)
  7. WTF???? These are the best looking uniforms the Bills have ever worn, IMHO. There's nothing I don't like about the new uniforms. (With the possible exception of the shoelaces. Did anyone notice the shoelaces? They're just terrible. Godawful. Just can't get myself to like those new laces... )
  8. I think it's unrealistic to expect your backup to be as good or better than your starter - and, after last season's...ahem...'open competition' , I'm happy to start the season with no QB controversy. Thig is a competent NFL backup QB, but he is what he is - namely, Fitz's backup. Realize it, embrace it. (And hope like hell Fitz stays healthy! )
  9. I hate being unshaven even more than I hate shaving and, personally, I think he looks better sans beard. (Inexplicably, he also seems more intelligent without the beard - maybe it's just because I'm more focused on what he says than the wild-man, Pampero-Firpo-like appearance he sports). But, beard or no beard... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  10. You got it right. I was actually at Foxboro that night - 4 of us college buddies - 2 Pats fans, and 2 good guys. Like so many other Bills heart-breakers, we thought we had the game 'in the bag'. Even after that disgraceful call, we thought we'd be OK 'til that phantom interference call on Henry Jones. (Who the calls pass interference on a 'Hail Mary'?) Then, total disgust set in - was there anyone in the stadium besides Wade that didn't think they'd throw to Coates for the winning TD? Biggest freakin' hose-job I ever saw by a supposed 'professional' officiating crew. (And folks still think some games aren't 'fixed'?) Adding insult to injury, Wade took the team off the field for the Cheatriettes* PAT (supposedly 'in protest', but I think he was just too stupid and didn't realize the game wasn't over), allowing NE* kicker Adam Vinatieri to run in in for the 2-point conversion - which ended up being the difference between a 'push' and NE* beating the spread! .
  11. Where is Nervous Guy when you need him? This game is nothing to be nervous about, just a final tuneup. I don't expect to see Fitz play beyond the 1st quarter, maybe not even beyond the 1st series, so not too concerned about his health. Same with the rest of our key guys. More concerned with seeing lots of play from the guys 'on the bubble'. Can Wang cut it? (Am rooting for the guy to make the squad - like the 'back-story'...and the 1.3 billion potential jersey sales!) Is there enough room for Big Mike? (Who doesn't love '69'?) Which of our remaining 10 WRs and 5 TEs get visits from The Turk? Now we're gettin' real close to real football... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  12. Definitely a logjam at WR, and no one's even mentioned Ruvell Martin - gonna be a very interesting week at OBD.
  13. Wow - good job, God! (And nice goin', David!) Dancin' Bluebonnets - Kelsi Reich What a lovely lady - wonder, though, who she's cheering for on Nov. 13th?
  14. I think Billsguy said it best - 'we got 2 shots...just depends which way we point our gun!' (Play well, score more points, don't let McKelvin field any returns, and we win - unless, of course, the refs say something like, "Just give it to them!")
  15. Marcia* definitely doesn't like it rough...I still remember the 2006 game when she* saw London Fletcher and Chris Kelsay bearing down on her* on 3rd & 10 at the Bills own 20 and, seeing no open receivers, elected to just sit down on the turf and take a voluntary sack! (Unfortunately, freakin' Kelsay dove into her* anyway, giving NE* the automatic first down.) The Bills will beat up on the Patsies* this season - twice - and *Marcia's gonna cry just looking up and seeing Williams, Dareus, and Merriman ready to thump her*. It might be the first time you see and NFL player penalized just for glaring at her*... 'Emotional Roughing' 'Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs was flagged for emotionally roughing Patriots quarterback Tom Brady yesterday after a hit left the star quarterback feeling upset and unloved. “I didn’t care for that! I didn’t care for that one bit!” snapped Brady, stomping his foot as he pulled himself up off the ground. Moments later, official Tom Winter threw a flag, penalizing Suggs and the Ravens for an infraction never before called in organized football. “The new rules in place make our job very clear as officials,” said Winter, explaining his call. “We are to protect the quarterback, especially star quarterbacks, and especially this star quarterback... Brady says Winter made the right call. “I don’t think people understand how hard it is to be me. I’m coming back from a knee injury, my team is struggling, I have one child out of wedlock, another child on the way, very high-maintenance dogs to take care of, I’m expected to look stylish all the time and I have the stress of physically satisfying a woman millions of men around the world would love a shot at. And then when someone tackles me, well …” he said, tearing up. “It can be very, very hard, okay? It can be very hard on my psyche.” Suggs said he had no intention of emotionally harming Brady, only sacking him and maybe creating a turnover... (Link - Brady* Draws 'Emotionally Roughing' The Passer Penalty) GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  16. 8/8 is "optimistic" ???? 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  17. Godspeed, fellow Bills fan! Stay safe and well.
  18. ...and I think TSW has set a new record for Wally Pipp references in one morning
  19. Exactly, John - Fitz will be 29 in Nov., he'll turn 30 next season. A guy like USC's Matt Barkley will be 21 at camp next season - no threat to Fitz at all, really. Extending Fitz 2-3 years and having a kid like Barkley as his 'understudy' is a perfect Bills QB scenario.
  20. No matter if we draft a QB in rounds one or two (think USC's Matt Barkley)- Fitz will still be the starter for at least the next 2 seasons so, yeah, they're gonna extend his contract.
  21. Well, yesterday's officiating WAS god-awful - and referee Mike Carey practically singlehandedly allowed the Jags back into the contest after the Bills starters were dominating 17-0. But, NFL-conspiracy theories aside, I think Carey's entire extended family must have been gathered around the television set watching - because he seemingly couldn't resist any opportunity to get on camera, prolonging the game into a 4-hour 'screen-test'.
  22. Having lived there a few years, I can attest that Cheatriettes* fans are the biggest 'fair-weather fans' in all of sports - they'll go back to rooting for Giants by mid-season.
  23. Judge for yourself... link (That's page 11 - I particularly enjoyed the comments from IceColdBruschi ("We SUCK!"), and the way the entire thread progresses from total arrogance on page one to utter despair by game's end! Trust me - when the Cheatriettes* drop their first few games, the fair-weathered NE* fans* will turn on them faster than sh_t thru a goose.)
  24. Man, I love those uniforms! Just might be the best looking uniforms the Bills ever wore
