Good stuff...brings back some great memories of a time when the Bills absolutely dominated the AFC - and we expected them not only to win every week, but to blow out their opponents! I (and countless others, I'm sure) fully expected the Bills to go to their 5th straight Superbowl - after the 4th one, I bought a great shirt with the Bills logo superimposed over Buffalo City Hall and bearing the caption... It was - they gambled that the NFL labor dispute wouldn't be settled and that a football-starved nation would turn to the UFL. Obviously, that did not happen - but the UFL is still hanging in there... Dang, I didn't realize Allen Wilson was ill...back in 2008 I sat next to him on a flight from Boston the Monday after a Bills-Cheatriettes* game...huge bear of a guy that took up all of his seat - and a lot of mine - on that small commuter jet, so couldn't help striking up a conversation with him...he was a pretty preoccupied with (the late) Tom Borelli's situation at the time so didn't talk all that much, but he's a super nice guy. Get well, Allen. Godspeed.

That early episode in Gailey's Buffalo career still has me baffled - yelling at teenaged kids at SJF that gave Edwards some crap ("You dawg one of us, you dawg all of us...no autographs for you!"), arrogantly dressing down reporters ("Oh, and if any of you want to know who our starting quarterback is, it's Trent!"), a supposed offensive genius and QB mentor par excellence not realizing what every fan in Buffalo seemed to already know - that even he couldn't make an NFL QB out of FanningFan...no one could...not even... JMO, but I don't think they signed Ruvell Martin just to cut him 2 weeks later - Donald Jones' 'head injury' (concussion?) may be worse than we know, otherwise I think Naaman Roosevelt might be odd-man-out.
