  1. The only reason I'm taking the over is because I expect the Bills to cover it all by themselves... BuffTown Bills 57 New* England* Cheatriettes* 0 GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  2. You neglected to point out that our crummy porous, turnstile of an o-line is also tied for 2nd fewest sacks (1), after facing two very respectable defensive front-sevens We're all pleasantly surprised at the play of our young oline - not surprised that they're good, but at just HOW well they've played so far. That was most definitely an unknown as the season started. And, save for the usual 'life-is-miserable'/Ralph is cheap/Nix is stupid Negative Nancy crowd that whines about almost everything on this board, the TSW posters clamoring for some free agent o-line signings weren't necessarily impugning the Bills starting o-line. But the loss of Kraig Urbik for what looks to be an extended period - right before we face our current divisional nemesis - illustrates just how thin we are at interior o-line depth. That's why many, myself included, were clamoring for some free-agency additions like Brian Waters, Vince Manuwai, et al. With Rinehart moving up to starting RG, Colin Brown the only available backup guard on the Bills roster. As one of the Bills most positive and optistic cheerleaders, I am still VERY concerned about o-line depth. What's your answer if, God-forbid, Rinehart or Levitre get hurt in practice this week? Carry on. (19 and 0 baby!!!!! ) .

  4. Props to Rockinon for posting this in his Bills v. Raiders thread... TOTAL DOMINATION Buffalo Bills 53 ChokeLand Raiders 0 GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!! .
  5. Finally... OOOPIE FREAKIN' DOOPIE BABY!!!!!!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  6. Road courses like Watkins Glen help add some variety - like an occasional right turn While I like NASCAR, I'm a much bigger fan of open wheel racing like IndyCar and particularly F1 - the most sophisticated racing machines on the planet, and the hottest supermodel babes chasing the filthy-rich young drivers, even richer team owners, and celebrity fans. The drivers are more skillful as well. (Take the fenders off those NASCAR machines and I guarantee you wouldn't see all that contact - the bumpin' and the rubbin' - because the cars would be airborne in an instant.) Save for the Indy 500, the races are usually much shorter too - fewer laps for IndyCar when they do race on ovals, and time limits in Formula One. Now that you've experience NASCAR, try an IndyCar road-course - or, better yet, a street-course like Toronto or Long Beach where they shut down the city and run the cars right on the same streets folks drive on every day. (Long Beach is great fun - perfect SoCal weather and lots of gorgeous SoCal women!) You damned-well better - big money in those NASCAR marketing campaigns, as I'm sure you know...
  7. If you're driving your car at the speed of light, what happens when you turn on your headlights? (Luck didn't come out, and Newton isn't a Bill.) GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  8. Can't believe Perdue or anyone else doesn't sell them at your local supermarket. The place that comes to mind is Will Poultry Co. - they supply all the restaurants around here but I don't know if they ship, and minimum order is $250 anyway. Since your Detroit bankroll is attached to a Zebco reel of 5 lb. monofilament, try these guys... Camellia Foods (Not on their product list but I know they have frozen wings, and they say they ship all of their products anywhere in the U.S.) This might help too... How to Make Buffalo Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Dressing at Home (Skip making the blue cheese dressing - just get a jar of good Marie's Chunky Blue Cheese from your local grocer.) Now, just for that, you have to watch this
  9. As reported in the yesterday's NY Times.... NYT - Syracuse and Pitt in Talks With A.C.C. (I posted the link last nite in the re-alignment thread) and speculated days ago by none other than... Mike Leach
  10. Nice post, Chronic - very informative. Glad to turn you on to Frank's sauce too - but dude, one bottle? You ordered one bottle? (Geez...while you're on a spending spree, why don't you get on the Anchor Bar site and have 'em ship you one wing to try?) OK, on to the game. Seems like almost everything's been said now. Enough folks have given the scoop on who's who and what to watch for from the Bills side, just as you have from a Raiders fan's POV. You've heard all about Fitz's 3000 yards and 23 TDs in 13 games, how well he acquitted himself coming off the bench last season after being thrust into the starting QB spot in week 3, and the league-leading 4 TDs and 133 QB rating he had in week one. You've been briefed on our young corps of talented WRs, you know about the downright nastiness of our young o-line, the new personnel on our defense - including Raider-Killer Shawn Merriman - and that the Bills have significantly beefed-up in size at almost every defensive position over the off-season. You know what we did to the AFC West Division winning Chiefs in their own house, in front of their fans, at their season opener. And you must slready know that Merriman has his best games against the Raiders, has NEVER lost to the them, and his 8.5 sacks against the Raiders are the most for him against any team. Not much more for me to add, so I'll let Merriman add a few more sacks tomorrow while I just add this... We don't have any really great stats from last season. It was a rebuilding year for first-year GM Buddy Nix and first-year HC Chan Gailey. We were 4-12, ranked 28th on offense, 28th on defense, and last in the league defending against the run. We had QB issues, just like you guys. Also, we were only 2-4 in the last 6 weeks - we didn't rise to the top like the 'Cream of the NFL' 3-3 record the Raiders knocked down in the same period. What we do have going for us is a solid, very hungry, and scrappy young team with some extremely talented unknowns, castoffs, and promising rookies and 2nd/3rd year players, mentored by a decades-wizened, veteran coaching staff. (Trust me -- Chan Gailey + Dave Wannstedt > Hue Jackson + Al Saunders + Chuck Bresnahan + Steve Wisniewski + Al Saunders + the rest of Raiders coaching staff.) That's why it's gonna be so gratifying seeing the rest of the football world slowly wake up and take notice the Buffalo Bills v.2011 - no one outside of the BuffTown has a clue who the Bills are this season. The Chiefs game made quite a few stand up and take notice - now it's the Raiders turn to go to school. Finally, and this is the clincher, the Bills Faithful - 75,000 screaming maniacs know as 'The 12th Man'. Having been to many Raiders games in both LA in Oakland during my time out West, I can tell you that there is absolutely nothing you have ever experienced like the home crowd at Ralph Wilson Stadium. (So upsetting were the Bills fans to division rival Miami Dolphins LB Brian Cox, that he actually sued the NFL for forcing him work in a hostile environment ) Bottom line: 1) Ryan Fitzpatrick > Jason Campbell 2) Gailey/Wannstedt > Jackson and staff 3) Bills offense > Raiders defense 4) Bills defense > Raiders offense 5) Home field, 12th man, blah blah blah That's why I'm predicting the Bills will beat the pants off the Raiders...
  11. Some interesting thoughts on the whole conference realignment buried in this interview with the inimitable... Mike Leach (Slide over to the 10-minute mark if you want to skip the book pitch and status update on the court case - and at the very end, Leach gives his pick for the Sooners/FSU game) Interesting and prescient comments on the possible emerging 'super-conferences' by the always-insightful Coach Leach - particularly the ACC/BigEast combination, which gained some traction with today's article in the NY Times... Syracuse and Pitt in Talks With A.C.C.
  12. Got the same feeling about Arizona/Stanford - the inevitable wane of the media's love affair with Andy will begin. Sooners at FSU should be a great one, but I think Oklahoma will prevail. (BTW, I cannot believe that (1) USC is hosting Syracuse and (2) the spread is only 14.5 - SU barely got by URI last week. Should be a nice chance for Barkley to pad his stats!)
  13. I hope the Raiders are ready are for an ass whuppin' - the Bills are gonna beat the pants off of 'em TOTAL DOMINATION Buffalo Bills 53 ChokeLand Raiders 0 GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  14. So that's why Ralph is staying in Detroit
  15. Oh there'll be no Raiders field goal - the fix is in. I've arranged for a car to pick up Janikowski Saturday nite and take him for an all-niter of pivo & pierogi at
  16. I think it's great that 20 million more folks now know WTF a terrapin is - I lived in the DC area for 4 years (including a brief stint in Silver Spring, MD - not far from College Park) and never knew (Still don't know what a 'Hoya' is, either!) Problem is, we already have "FEAR THE 'STACHE" - courtesy of the nice kids at Pitt that founded The Fighting Wannstaches...
  17. No...THIS is why it's very important to wear condoms...
  18. Why's that? Will he be prancing around with no pants again? Seriously, dude - Urbik/Wood/Levitre will B word-slap Tommy Boy and ol' Richard Seymour's taped-up ribs all the way back to Alameda
  19. Typical gay-der nation response - although, from the photo below, your team does seem to know about rodeos! Tell me - does the entire team take turns on Tommy Boy?
  20. Actually, Williams replaced the aging, banged-up Richard Seymour in last year's Pro Bowl. The old guy (Seymour) is nursing some sore ribs this week, and I don't expect him or Tommy Boy to get past our o-line of 25-year-old maulers... TOTAL DOMINATION Buffalo Bills 53 Chokeland Raiders 0 GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  21. You'll have to let us know after the Raiders season ends! Welcome - good banter is always appreciated here on TSW. I lived in the Bay area for 7 years - if I were in the East Bay this afternoon, I'd be tipping a cold one in Jack London Square at Heinhold's First and Last Chance Saloon. Hard to find decent wings out there, which is a bit surprising since they're so simple to make (wings/deep fryer/hot sauce). All kinds of sauces available over the 'net - but the best is also the most basic... Frank's Red Hot "Frank's is, to me, like a religion," wrote Hopkins, a freshman at Canisius College studying for a political science and communications double major. "No meal is complete without the exquisite taste of Frank's running down my throat. The sheer euphoria can only be compared to going to heaven. I know I am the ultimate Red Hot fan because Frank's completes me." You can also order the sauce from the place where wings were 'invented'... Frank & Teressa's Anchor Bar (They ship wings too, but they don't travel very well or taste the same when you reheat them.) GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  22. Well, asses do seem to be the Raiders' milieu! The Buffalo Bills forte, OTOH, is... TOTAL DOMINATION Buffalo Bills 53 Chokeland Raiders 0 GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
  23. I'm pretty sure he's just tacking on both teams' season openers to last years W-L records.
  24. I thought the Gay-ders loved young chicken
  25. What I try to do is use the asterisk at any mention of that team* from Foxboro* or any of its* current or former players*, as well as any pronoun or adjectival used in discussing said entities*, and - for good measure - include their* fans*, coaches*, front* office* personnel*, owner*, and all nearby New* England* geographic* proximities*. I gets tedious, I know - and sometimes even I slip up, but best to play it safe and cover all your bases. (I've provided a corrected 'edit' to your post for future reference.) I can't help you with your other question - you'd probably have to go to a NE* tailgate* to get good information about cucumber sandwiches... GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!!!
