Please let the Dolphins sign him...
The Senator replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All true, only now Trent's total suckitude could actually help the Bills! -
Thanks, Justin - that made me laugh. And, it could have something to do with the Bills - love to see it on the RWS Jumbo-tron if we're playing the Bears, or maybe on the big colour screen at Rogers Centre during the Redskins game. (Not PC, I know, but the Canadiens won't care.) GO BILLSSS!!!! 18 and 1 baby!!!!! .

Unless they truly are trying to 'suck for Luck' (which I doubt - only Polian is that crafty), the smartest moves the Dolphins could make are to 1) Fire Tony Sparano today 2) Grab QB Graham Harrell off the Packers' practice squad, and 3) As the new Dolphins head coach and offensive coordinater, hire... Mike Leach As a Bills fan, however, I'd much prefer they sign Fanning Fan... GO BILLSSS!!!! 18 and 1 baby!!!!! -
Belicheat* used to travel to Gainesville at least once a year, and/or bring Urban Meyer to Foxboro, just to study the Gators spread-offense and consult with Meyer on implementing it. NE*, Green Bay, the Colts, and a few other NFL teams have been using 'the spread' extensively for a few years now. The NFL's winning-est teams 'broke the code' long before the light bulb went on for rest of the league... Link - Belichick turns to unlikey source for coaching advice Link - Gators' spread offense catching on in the NFL Shotgun formations, ho-huddles, empty backfields, spreading the offense and forcing opponents to defend the entire length and width of the field, distributing the ball evenly among all offensive targets, right down to building an offensive line of nasty over-sized 'big uglies' to provide superior pass-protection - the similarities between what the Bills and the rest of the NFL's most potent, high-scoring, pass-oriented offenses are doing this season, and what Mike Leach was doing at Texas Tech 10 years ago (and even before he arrived at TT), are amazing... Link - The Mike Leach Offense Explained Link - Coach Leach Goes Deep, Very Deep For the last 4 years, I've been chastised ad nauseum by some on TSW attempting to enlighten me on why the high-scoring, pass-oriented, Spread/AirRaid/Whatever-You-Wanna-Call-It offense as implemented by Meyer, Leach, and others, is purely a college gimmick - and that it would never, ever work in the NFL. Well, the spread-offense has clearly arrived. The league's best coaches realized its effectiveness years ago, and the NFL certainly now recognizes the entertainment value of high-scoring aerial shoot-outs. It's here, and it's not going away. Lucky for us Bills fans, Chan Gailey's done a pretty darned good job implementing it... GO BILLSSS!!!! 18 and 1 baby!!!!! .

Then you will be positively thrilled this Sunday... At the Oct. 9 game, 180 Buffalo Jills cheerleaders and alumni will perform dressed in pink. Pink-themed skydivers will jump onto the field during the pregame. In addition, 50 survivors will form Stampede Row, and 50,000 pink pompoms will be distributed by Time Warner Cable. Dessert Deli Billieve cookies and pink Billieve merchandise from Delaware North Sportservice will be sold, with a portion of the proceeds going to the WNY Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. (And yes, the Bills will be sporting pink shoes and gloves )

Jason Peters...Surprise Surprise..
The Senator replied to West End Stench's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are correct, my good man - the Bills are most definitley the beneficiaries of Peters' injury this Sunday - and Trent Cole's...and Antonio Dixon's... Link - Antonio Dixon’s season over as Eagles’ troubles grow As you well know, Bill, you hit the nail on the head regarding my dislike for Peters. It's how he acted toward the organization that signed him as an undrafted FA, developed him, and tore up his existing contract to extend him at more $$$ - as well as how he let down his teammates, coaches, and Bills fans by selfishly holding out right up until the deadline for forfeiting a paycheck - that fuels my irreversible contempt for the fat man. (Man, that was cathartic! ) That said, I think you have to compare apples to apples - Wood's first 3 years as a Bill to Peters' first 3 years as a Bill - before saying FatMan was/is better than Wood. In his first season Peters was cut after preseason, cleared waivers, signed to the practice squad, then signed to the active roster in November due to worries about Mike Williams. In 2005 he moved from TE/special teams to right tackle and in 2006 beat out Williams for the starting RT job (at which point the Bills generously tore up his old rookie contract and gave him a new one). Peters was great in 2006, but his first Pro Bowl selection didn't come until his 4th season in 2007 - and was immediately accompanied by demands for another new deal. Eric Wood's first season was on a completely re-tooled o-line with 2 rookies and no returning starters (partially due to FatMan's departure), and ended abruptly in week 11 when his leg was snapped in half. I thought the speed - and completeness - of Wood's courageous recovery from such a devastating injury was nothing short of miraculous (and obviously required nothing less than total commitment, compared to FatMan's inability to take take of his nagging groin), yet clearly the severity of Wood's injury did not allow him to play to his full potential last season, his second in the league. Now, in this his third season, he's fully recovered. By most accounts - including several you've posted - the Bills o-line is acquitting itself surprising well in 2011, so far. So maybe from this season forward, we can start comparing Wood's play to Peters' 3rd season and beyond. That would be a more fair comparison of the 2 players' talent at similar points in their careers, IMO. Anyway, right you are - either NE* or the Jets are gonna lose this Sunday, so it's ALL good... GO BILLSSS!!!! 18 and 1 baby!!!!! -

Unfortunately Ed Wang didn't work out as planned, so hope Hairston turns out to be a beast. Bell's contract demands should be reasonable, I think. Then, there's always the 2012 draft - lose Wang... Adcock . -

It was Philly's 2nd first-round pick (Woods) and their 4thround pick (TE Shawn Nelson, released 9/3/2011) in 2009, and a 6th-round pick in 2010 (Danny Batten). Peters is a fat, aging, unmotivated, greedy, oft-injured malcontent. IMO, the Bills made out just fine. -
That's a tremendous reach - it could be quite simply that more women shoot their husbands.

I'm not sure Warren Buffet would accept 2nd-billing to Ralph! -

I can only speak for myself, John - but, in my never-ending quest to attain total perfection, I do strive for consistency. I realize, however, that said consistency must necessarily be tempered, at times, with reality. This is why I have now, wisely, backed away from my 19-0 prediction... So would I, but Italy already did.

That's because they're prettier, softer, and smell better than men - and we'd like to keep them around longer.

Not to mention, there also happens to be a lovely powder blue/pink ribbon to provide some equity in building much-needed awareness of both female and the mostly-ignored instances of male breast cancer...

No worries - I'm not offended. No blood, no foul. Never thought you meant me (or anyone) specifically; rather that you were just being passionate about the cause. And yes, there are many worthy causes. (Also, many worthy colours. )

I'm sorry, I thought the thread was about 'Too much pink'. Guess I was misled by the title. And yeah, I wish I had Warren Buffet's money so I could contribute to EVERY worthy cause - but I don't. I do, however, support breast (and other) cancer research thru financial (and other) contributions - and have since I was first approached in 2000 to sponsor/contribute/participate in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. I just don't wear pink. Sorry again.
