The Senator replied to brenty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
^ all good - wish i coulda been there too i got no problems with stevie or his antics - beyond the injuries & lack of depth, i don't know quite what happened to the bills after a fine start, but pretty sure chan & co. will get it fixed next season... GO BILLSSS!!!! "I expect to win" - Chan Gailey -
Call me not a fan, but I want us to lose out

Can someone answer a question for me
The Senator replied to NEBuffaloBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We will face Losman this Sunday. As a Bills fan who still really believes JP could have been a decent QB but was ruined by the Bills' organization, I certainly hope he loses - but will not be at all surprised if he wins. -
With Bills Done: Will You Root for Another Team?
The Senator replied to CSBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Done? Who says we're done? 12 and 8 baby!!!!! -
Yes, of course, for that whole 'winning thing' - but with the caveat that Denver may also require us to lose every game thru 2013 in order to consummate the deal, which I am on-board with as well

Uh oh... Haven't been in this thread in a while - looks like the Tebow-haters are all angry and stuff Link - Tim Tebow tattoo is price of Broncos fan's lost bet 'After getting this tattoo, Broncos fan Juan Contreras has learned not to wager against Tim Tebow...' -
I think we both know that most, if not all, coaches of major NCAA football programs have bloated egos - it's practically a requirement for the job! I'm glad to see you acknowledge Leach's complete lack of responsibility for TT Chancellor Kent Hance's coup d'etat using his pal and business partner (and known thief / disgraced-athlete / serial-program-wrecker) Craig James and setting Leach up for termination to avoid paying him, after being so badly out-maneuvered by Leach in his last contract negotiations. This link is to an article about a new book by Michael Lee Lanning that looks at the circumstances surrounding Leach's firing from Texas Tech. The author spent close to a year examining court documents and conducting interviews to discover the real reasons behind Leach's firing. The name of the book is "Double T--Double Cross" ... Link - Double T--Double Cross-The Firing of Mike Leach: The Backroom Deal That Deflated The RedRaider Nation (Lanning is a Texas A&M graduate - certainly no Leach lovers there - as well as a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, and has written 17 books on military history. Leach was not used as a source.) I think if more Leach detractors actually knew the facts surrounding his, er, 'departure' from Texas Tech, they'd realize what you and I already know - that Leach was a victim of Texas-sized egos far bigger than his own. (A fact that will be painfully obvious to all after Tech and ESPN both pay Leach huge sums of money to settle the lawsuits.) .

You may get your wish - the Packers are keeping Harrell next season, and parting ways with Flynn. You should consider becoming a GM.
-
Poor Wazzu - the Cougars are now doomed, I guess, to 10 straight bowl appearances and to leading the NCAA in offense for the next decade! Leach, 50, was hired last week to replace Paul Wulff. Leach was 84-43 at Texas Tech, leading the Red Raiders to 10 bowl appearances in 10 seasons, before being fired in 2009 amid allegations he mistreated a player with a concussion. Asked Tuesday if parents of recruits should worry, Leach called the allegations "lies and falsehoods. … Your son will not be mistreated." I'm still in pain from all my ROTFLOL at the clowns who swore up and down that Mike Leach was finished as a coach! When I finally recover from that and catch my breath, I'll point out that we should have drafted Harrell in 2009 and still could have signed him in 2009 as an undrafted FA - and also could have still signed him in 2010, and in 2011 - as I begged and implored anyone who'd listen. Unfortunately, no one did listen - and that's unfortunate, as I still say Harrell will be a fine starting NFL QB somewhere. (That is, after he gets his 2nd Superbowl ring with Green Bay! )

Graham Harrell? Why the heck would the Bills want Graham Harrell??? Next thing you know, they'll try to hire someone like... Mike Leach ( )

Stevie Johnson, grow up or get out.
The Senator replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I nearly fell on the floor from laughing so hard when Stevie did that crazy waddle (I'll bet even the ref thought it was hysterical!) SJ is a joy and a delight - it's been forever since the Bills have had a player with the talent of SJ and the fun personality to go with it! Assuming he's learned (from his previous transgressions) what's appropriate and what's not, when it's OK to act goofy and when it's not, and that he now knows the location of that 'line that can't be crossed' when it comes to conduct on and off the field, I sincerely hope Stevie is a Buffalo Bill for years to come. We used to have a talented and punishing young running back by the name of 'BeastMode' who would have been equally as fun - BOO HISS to those that ran Marshawn Lynch outa town and now would do the same to SJ. In my book, Stevie Johnson is  -
Sat next to AW a couple of years ago on a Mon AM flight from Logan back to BuffTown, after another loss at Foxboro - other than the fact that Allen was a wide-body on a small turbo-prop commuter plane and took up all of his seat plus half of mine, it was a very pleasant 90 minutes. He was a bit distracted, as fellow BN sportswriter Tom Borellii was in critical condition after his accident, but otherwise very friendly and interesting. Condolences to Allen's family, friends and colleagues. RIP, Allen Wilson.
