Vacationing in WNY 7-13-15 2012
The Senator replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Strange...none of those listed artists' web sites/tour schedules - not a single one - show a stop on WNY on those dates -
Or until you have a term paper due tomorrow

Eagles kicking Trent Edwards tires
The Senator replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Chan Gailey thought the 12 year-old crowd at St. John Fisher was tough on Fanning-Fan, who will dry his tears when he meets the ever-so-kind sports fans in 'The City of Brotherly Love' ??? -
And now there will be two! (I am assuming David Lee is South Korean, no? )
-
I think Bill from NYC will like this draft too... 1 David DeCastro, OG, Stanford (6'5", 310 lbs.) 2 Mike Adams, LOT, Ohio State (6'8", 320 lbs.) 3 Levy Adcock, OT, Oklahoma State (6'6", 322 lbs.) 4 Nick Foles, QB, Arizona (6'5", 240 lbs.) 4 Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin (6'4", 315 lbs.) 5 Jeff Fuller, WR, Texas A&M (6'4", 220 lbs.) 6 Vick Ballard, RB, Mississippi State (5'11", 220 lbs.) 7 Cody Johnson, FB, Texas (5'11", 250 lbs.) Undrafted Free Agent Selections Josh Oglesby, OT, Wisconsin (6'7", 330 lbs.) Stephen Good, OG, Oklahoma (6'6", 305 lbs.) Juron Criner, WR, Arizona (6'4", 215 lbs.) Greg Childs, WR, Arkansas (6'3", 217 lbs.) (And, if the Bills had no needs on D, the above selections might all be feasible.) Go BIG (and mean), or stay home!

Well then you and BeerSphere will both enjoy the Scott Pelley 60 Minutes interview with Leach from 2009... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34uzkpR9XbA
-
Yes...just when many ill-informed Leach detractors proclaimed he was finished as a coach, like the proverbial Phoenix, he rises from the ashes... Berg had gotten to know Leach over the years after reaching out to him following a 60 Minutes story and a New York Times Magazine story. Berg brought him in for a Friday Night Lights cameo, and Leach actually came to Hollywood for a month to live with Berg two years ago and observe Hollywood. "I was just fascinated with him," Berg tells B&C. So Berg sent Brendan and Emmett Malloy -- who shot the Roach series -- to Washington to spend three days with Leach last week. "I thought he would be the my way or highway type," says Brendan Malloy. "He wasn't, but I think he gets interesting when something controversial happens." The plan for the new series is to have it cover training camp and through the first or second game of the season. Link -Peter Berg Working on Mike Leach Docu-Series Cougar fans are in for a fun ride...Miami and Maryland will both rue their mistakes in not hiring 'The Pirate' as he leads Wazzu from the cellar to the top of the PAC 12 and into BCS Championship contention!

I have it on good authority that, every now and then, Buddy enjoys a nice spleef with his Tennessee hooch

ESPN Article on Bills in NY...
The Senator replied to BuffaloBlizzard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's the funniest line I've read on TSW in some time. (Perhaps there was no secret deal for Ralph to sell the team to some fictitious, deceased Toronto businessman, after all!!!) -
[closed]Saved by Vernon Davis...
The Senator replied to Turbosrrgood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While it looks like we finally have a decent TE in Scott Chandler, I coveted Vernon Davis in the 2006 draft. I think Donahoe might have drafted him too, had the 49ers not taken him 2 picks before we drafted Whitner. -
(Unless, of course, Damien Woody wants to come out of retirement!)
-
Drafting a useless Wang was a huge disappointment - now the Bills need to Adcock (Kind of reminds me of a Kent-Hull-good-ol'-country-boy type of guy - if he's there in round 2, the Bills should grab him.)

Oregon Duck QB Darron Thomas to enter NFL Draft
The Senator replied to Commander's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I liked Thomas OK at Oregon, but not as QB for the Bills - just don't think he adds much to the Bills QB equation right now. Barring a substantial trade or FA signing, Fitz is the starter. Then we got Thigpen (who could be gone, despite 2 years left on his contract, because he sucks), Brad Smith - who may or may not suck but has 3 years left on the 4-year $15M deal he signed last summer, and interesting wildcat prospect and former Georgia Tech QB (and Chan Gailey recruit there) Joshua Nesbitt. If the Bills take a developmental QB at all, I'd prefer it to be someone more experienced than Thomas and with with prototypical NFL QB size - maybe like the highly accurate and productive 6'5" 240 lb. Nick Foles out of Arizona (4,334 yards and 28 touchdowns in his senior season), who may be there for us in round 4. JMO. GO BILLSSS!!!! 19 and 0 baby!!!! -
Stupid Dolphins get left with nothing but their dick in their hand, when for the last two years one of the best coaches in football was laying in wait just 150 miles away... Mike Leach .

No matter how deep one's hatred of Tim Tebow and/or the Gators - nor how insecure one may be regarding being so completely, so absolutely wrong about his chance for NFL success - how could this vote be anything but unanimous???

Senior Bowl QBs named…
The Senator replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For the past few months I've been thinking Nick Foles in round 4. -
Watch Josh Nesbitt emerge as the Bills new wildcat threat.
-
Meh...can't hurt, but he's certainly no... Mike Leach

Tigers ex remodels 12 million home
The Senator replied to Jim in Anchorage's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Meh...my understanding is that Woods did the same thing, only on a much larger and more wasteful scale. (Bought a $44M estate on Jupiter Island, then - because it didn't quite meet his standards - tore it down completely to build a brand-spankin' new 'ultimate bachelor-pad/training facility' on the site). What's good for the gander, is good for the goose -
You mean aside from you, me, and Bill Polian? BP likely intended to trade Luck to the Browns/Bucs/Redskins for 5 or 6 round one/round two picks over the next several years, and then draft RG3 or Brandon Weeden. (And it would be the right move!)

The Senator replied to merlin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Amazingly, we may be seeing a case of 'history repeating itself' here - Indy columnist suggests Polian’s rudeness played role in firing I believe it was Polian's rudeness and foul language that got him fired here in Buffalo. -

Actually, I believe RW's niece - Mary Owen, VP Strategic Planning - is his only relative in the Bills front office. -
I don't think he really has much knowledge or appreciation of baseball, either - he just has a big card collection from when he was 5 and used to buy them to get the bubble gum.
