  1. If you can draw your eyes out a shade more and try to watch the 3 interior lineman and the 2 DTs, it will give you a general idea of what the play is almost every time. Then you can switch your focus to the point of attack and you'll pick up the max amount of key elements of the play in real time. It also helps that when they show a replay (which seems to be a diminishing event in favor of some stupid graphic or player photo/pose ) that you'll be able to instantly focus on the spot you want to see because you already know what generally happened and where to look. This has worked for me for years, although I admit there are some games where I'm emotionally involved enough that all this goes right out the window because I'm stomping around the living room, woofing and yelling bust his ass!
  2. Not buying it. We all know that lazy sumbitch doesn't watch film.
  3. Don't doubt you Bo, but are you 100% sure on this? I just happened to watch a Bills/Dolphins highlight reel from last weekend. It only showed about 10-15 of the Bills offensive plays but on at least 5-6 of those snaps, Brown was getting significant help. Does this reel just happen to show all the snaps where he was getting help from his TEs and Backs? Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills Game Highlights | NFL 2023 Week 4
  4. Davante Adams set on playing for Raiders long-term, believer in rookie QB Aidan O'Connell, per report
  5. Never noticed that. Although I think he could call the snap count as Sneak! Sneak! Sneak! while he's jumping up and down pointing at the 1 gap and still pick it up every time.
  6. I'm going to have to disagree with this as I did not see Kohou covering anybody.
  7. Sounds like quality entertainment; wish I could find a video. fwiw, I don't think Spencer Brown is stupid or lazy or soft; half is problem is probably his length and there's just not much he can do about that.
  8. LBs are not going to be looking outside at Stefon Diggs at the snap. And having a corner yell something at them is not going to work.
  9. That was probably 25-30 years ago and I don't recall seeing it (my TV rarely gets turned on except for Sundays at 1:00). I doubt if a camp scrap would have had any effect on how I viewed a player, though. I just can't make myself believe that Spencer Brown's feet will ever be good enough to be a reliable OT at this level. So far, the Bills coaches seem to agree and I think that need to use an extra skill player to give him help is handicapping the offense at times.
  10. Partly because it's easier and partly because I get enough flak for asking people to do/not do stuff and didn't want to add more FU's to my inbox. Didn't realize it was annoying. I'll stop
  11. That's me. When somebody asks questions and can't be bothered to put a question mark, I feel like it annoys folks who go into a thread looking for info. So I add a Q mark or two to help them out. It seems to work as we don't get many repeat offenders.
  12. I didn't say he was unchanged; I said it was unchanged that he is still the biggest problem with the Bills offense. And he is. Even against the Phish's banged up patchwork front, he still needed some help this weekend. Love his temperament and character but I'm still not convinced he's a good enough athlete to be a quality OT at this level.
  13. You are 100% full of shlt. Here's a recent example of my "extreme hate" On 9/26/2023 at 7:47PM, Simon said: I really like Spencer Brown and am glad he is on the roster.
  14. Well, it has now. It's probably because 90+% of the people here don't have a firm grasp of it, myself included. Would you care to enlighten us? In English?
  15. Keep it coming, baby. I love y'all doubting that fella.
  16. I don't think there is any way that Rapp can play the nickel. I think Taron is fine right where he is.
  17. There's always a chance of that but a healthy Poyer is so impactful that it cannot be ignored. Plus if he's doing this with the full consent (or even directives) of the staff, it should not be an issue. "Bite me" is timeless and appropriate to virtually all situations. Plus I just thought it was funny.
  18. I don't know if his wife yelled at him before the game or something, but that man was an absolute menace yesterday.
  19. Only two people thought this was funny? Damn, I must be slippin'. Anyhoo, here is what I think is going on. Last year I think Mr Poyer learned a very hard (and very expensive) lesson about how to manage his health throughout a long season. At the very beginning of last year he was absolutely trying to murder any viable target that came within 10yrds of him, repeatedly throwing his body at full speed and exposed, awkward angles at large armored athletes on practically every series. Needless to say, this is not a strategy that is conducive to playing 16 football games in a row. And sure enough by later in the year, he was a shell of himself being held together by duct tape and bailing wire. I think what we're seeing right now is a smarter, more veteran Poyer trying to play a much more controlled game, preserve his health and assure that when things get really important later in the year that he will be ready to go at full speed. Is it a good idea? I think it is, both for Poyer and for the Bills. It may lead to fewer kill shots and fewer turnovers in the short term, but if it leads to a healthy Poyer in the playoffs, it will have been well worth it. I fully expect to see a transition at some point in December where that heedless assassin begins to re-emerge in games against playoff worthy rivals; and I hope he does it wisely enough that when elimination games start he can step on the field and once again start trying to murder everybody in a different colored shirt.
  20. 100% agreed; praise and hype are murder on a football team. But I am getting the sense this group just might be beyond that now.
  21. Not going to stifle conversation by closing it, but I'll unpin it after lunch.
  22. Dear Jordan Poyer doubters, Bite me. Yours truly, Simon
  23. If you don't think that not having Tre White in a playoff game won't affect the outcome, you might want to give yourself a jab in the ribs while you're at it.
