I want you to go outside, run a 40 yard sprint and then rotate 180 degrees right in the middle of it without losing speed and falling on your ass and then tell me about how these guys should just turn around.
Hard to put that one on Elam.
He's out there with no help over the top, his first responsibility is to defend the sticks on 3rd down and only a perfectly delivered ball beat him.
Washington is stacking and packing and repeatedly throwing extra defenders into the A gaps on almost every down.
They had it beat with the dig but Devonta Smith dropped the game ender
As has been pointed out multiple times, there is nothing wrong with showing emotion.
Allowing it to incapacitate you to the point where it hurts the people who are depending on you is another story.
I would just like to point out that the majority of the folks in this thread that didn't care for Stroud crying mid-game are probably more than happy to disassociate with the above nonsense.
And you're wrong about Patton.
He bawled his eyes out like a little baby multiple times when Ike chewed his dumb ass out.
I could see that and would have no problem whatsoever with it.
But I don't see it as comparable to the Stroud scenario because your BiL was not expected to go back out on the field any minute and lead his team.
Having so little control over your emotions that it hurts your brothers in the middle of a game is the deal-breaker for me.
I don't see it as appreciably different from taking a couple 15 yrdrs because you were pissed off about a call and couldn't get over it.
